As I was walking along a side street by the Nihonbashi River from Nihonbashi towards Otemachi, I spotted a traditional-looking building that seemed to be a crab cuisine restaurant. Upon closer inspection of the lunch menu, it appeared that their specialty was the "kani meshi" (crab rice). Stepping inside, the atmosphere was serene, reminiscent of a high-quality soba or eel restaurant, with only table seating for 32 people. The lunch menu featured the regular kani meshi for 1,500 yen, with a larger portion for 1,800 yen, a premium option for 2,000 yen, and a crab cream croquette set for 1,400 yen. When I inquired about the difference between the regular and premium kani meshi, I was told that the premium version contained 1.5 times more crab, so I decided to order that. Served in a large bento box, the warm rice was topped with finely chopped seaweed and generously filled with shredded snow crab meat, garnished with green edamame beans and orange fish roe for color. To enjoy, you first eat it as is, then pour hot broth over it for a refreshing tea-soaked rice, and finally top it with crab miso and condiments for a richly flavored tea-soaked rice, offering three different ways to savor the dish. The snow crab, likely from Russia, was packed tightly into the dish, providing a satisfying meal. The young female server also kindly explained how to enjoy the meal, adding to the positive dining experience. Although I don't usually eat this much rice, I found myself finishing it quickly and feeling fully satisfied. It was a delightful meal.

My friend had been saying "I want to eat crab" for about a week, and before I knew it, he had made a reservation for us. The restaurant was called "Crab Festival" and had opened near Tsukiji 4-chome intersection (formerly Jonathan), which was very convenient as it was only a 2-3 minute walk away. However, the price was a bit steep at 6000 yen per hour for all-you-can-eat, which didn't really suit us. Nevertheless, the restaurant had good reviews on Google and Tabelog, and my follower Kimijima Pink had visited three months ago and seemed satisfied, so that was reassuring. We decided to order a la carte, as we were worried about ordering too much and leaving food uneaten. My friend insisted on having the crab cream croquette, crab shabu-shabu, and crab rice, so we focused on ordering those. We also ordered dishes like "Baklai and crab salad" and "Grilled crab miso in shell" before the crab cream croquette arrived. It was quite large and my friend exclaimed, "Delicious!! It's totally different from what we usually have at Tohto Grill!" Well, of course, this is a crab specialty restaurant, so the comparison wouldn't be fair. After enjoying dishes like "Grilled snow crab" and "Crab shabu-shabu," we were left with a pot, and my friend suggested making it into a porridge. We turned it into porridge, which was plentiful and delicious. Then we shared a large portion of crab rice, which we enjoyed half as is and half with broth poured over it. My friend, who is usually a light eater, surprisingly finished everything and remarked, "I'm satisfied! Eating crab like this is much better than an all-you-can-eat place." The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and relaxing, which added to our dining experience. When it came time to pay the bill, my friend estimated it to be around 30,000 yen with the wine we had ordered. However, to our surprise, the bill came out to only 22,000 yen. My friend suggested coming back again and said, "I'll treat you next time if I win another G1 race like I did with the Takarazuka Kinen this time." It seems my friend was very happy to have won the Takarazuka Kinen after a long time, as he kept mentioning it. Well, the next G1 race will be after October, and by then, crabs will be in season and delicious, so I definitely want to treat him back then.

I had some errands in Nihonbashi and felt like having Japanese food, so I remembered the crab rice I had for lunch before at Kanifuku. Even though it was a Saturday and I called just an hour before, I was able to make a reservation. I ordered the lunch crab rice and a draft beer. Mmm, the crab rice is really delicious. It's even better with the broth poured over it. The pickles and dried fish side dishes are also tasty. The crab cream croquette was delicious too. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the feast.

Crab rice lunch @ Kani Fuku On the last day of the Bon holiday, I went out for a crab rice lunch with my friends. We went to Nihonbashi. My friend had to work, but we had lunch near their office. They had chosen a specific restaurant, but it turned out there was a branch at Coredo Nihonbashi, so they had to dash over to meet me there in the heat. Well, at least we had a reservation... I ordered the plain crab rice, which was the first item on the menu. I thought it must be the recommended dish. And it was delicious. Even though I had lost my appetite in the heat, the homemade side dishes were so tasty that I finished them in no time. The croquette was also filled with plenty of crab meat! The saltiness of the crab might have actually helped replenish my sweat. I also tried the rice soup with dashi, eating it smoothly with a spoon. The wasabi was also good. The dried radish in the side dishes had a sweet taste and a rich oiliness. The sweet ginger and cabbage were also seasoned just the way I like it, and the crunchy texture made the rice go down smoothly. Thank you for the meal.

Celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary with a lunch at the renowned crab restaurant "Kani Fuku" in Nihonbashi. After enjoying a luxurious crab meal, we took a day off to extend our long weekend to a 4-day break. The restaurant was a perfect choice for my wife, a crab enthusiast, offering great value for delicious crab dishes. I indulged in beer, sake, and highballs during our lunchtime. We bought souvenirs for our children before heading to Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi for their favorite desserts to avoid them melting in the scorching heat. After lunch, we took a taxi back home due to the extreme heat. The crab course we enjoyed included appetizers, soft-shell crab, crab sashimi, crab cream tempura, crab chawanmushi, and the signature "kani meshi" rice dish. Each dish was exquisite and flavorful, and the crab rice dish was a standout. We customized it with toppings and enjoyed it with hot dashi broth. It was a delightful anniversary celebration filled with delicious crab dishes.

I visited on a regular night for business purposes, so I ordered a course menu. The food was delicious overall. The dishes came out slowly, so it felt like a lot of food. If there was a drink all-you-can option, it would be even better.

I visited the main store this time. I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday, and there weren't many customers. I ordered the crab rice lunch set. The staff kindly introduced the pickles and explained how to eat them. The broth was flavorful and the volume of crab was impressive. It was fun to eat in various ways. Thank you for the meal.

As I was passing by, a sign caught my eye with lanterns highlighting the entrance. The rice topped with plenty of snow crab and three types of fish roe pickles were all delicious. I want to buy and take them home. First, the plain one was delicious, slightly spicy sesame was delicious, and finally, pouring the broth over it was delicious. I will come back again for lunch on my day off. Thank you for the meal!

I came here wanting to devour some crab. I splurged on the Crab Kaiseki course (13,000 yen) and was amazed from the beginning with the crab and eel appetizer. The harmony between snow crab and bitter gourd was beautifully achieved. I was especially impressed by the Taraba crab topped with sea urchin. It's a bit pricey, but the course was very satisfying. The Tsukune sake (700 yen) we ordered was also flavorful and delicious. Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant for a thank-you lunch from someone I worked with. I had passed by the restaurant many times before, but I didn't really notice it. The crab cream croquette was very rich and delicious. I think this restaurant is more suitable for special occasions rather than everyday use. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant in Nihonbashi for the first time to enjoy a crab course. The restaurant's name and course name both had "crab" in them, and looking at the menu, there were plenty of crab dishes even in the drinks. The main dishes were snow crab and king crab, and you could choose how you wanted them cooked. I shared various dishes with a friend, but we both agreed that the deep-fried king crab leg was the best in both appearance and taste. I think this restaurant is a must-visit for crab lovers. Thank you for the meal.

The last time we ate crab, it made my sister crave for more, saying "I wanted to eat more dishes too." So, on the occasion of my sister's advancement celebration, I treated her and another friend. I earn about three times as much as my sister, after all. We started with an appetizer to increase our appetite, followed by a soft-shell crab and other dishes for the appetizer. And then, the highlight arrived - a comparison of snow crab and king crab. Both were top-notch, with a chewy and sweet texture, full of the essence of crab. It was truly delicious. For the main dish, we had a crab hot pot with the shell on. It was so hearty and delicious! There was also plenty of crab rice. We were already full by the time we finished the hot pot, so we had the leftover rice packed to take home. The chawanmushi served in the middle of the hot pot was also delicious, with a subtle crab aroma. The dessert was smooth and tasty. Thank you for the feast.

I made a lunch reservation at 12:00 on a regular day and ordered the Crab Rice Kaiseki for 5500 yen (tax included). 1. Seasonal appetizer trio: Crab miso, firefly squid, etc., appetizers using crab. 2. Taraba and snow crab sashimi: Sweet and creamy, incredibly delicious. 3. Crab cream tempura: Delicious with matcha salt, the crab flavor spreads in your mouth. 4. Chawanmushi: Packed with shredded crab, salmon roe, smooth and delicious. 5. Crab rice with cream croquette: The crab rice can be enjoyed with dashi, on its own, or with condiments (I particularly liked the sesame and sansho pepper), very flavorful. The croquette also has a rich crab flavor. Every dish was delicious, and the timing of the dishes being served was excellent. I would love to visit again.

Nihonbashi Kanifuku 2023/1/18 (Wed) 12:00 arrival waiting 2 groups for some reason, without saying anything, they let the 2 people behind me pass and cut in front of me. 12:25 Everyone seems to have reservations, but they didn't even call out the name of the reservation holder, and without saying anything like "We will guide the customers with reservations first," they ignored me and guided the group behind me, which was the worst attitude. 12:40 When I asked a question, the response was even worse, like "It's natural to have a reservation." I ordered the Kanimeshi Gozen 2550 using Gotoeat. 12:50 The food arrived with 3 pots placed on the table, including kombu, pickled cabbage, and dried daikon radish. The main Kanimeshi was impressive as I had seen it on TV before, and the part with the crab innards was memorable. My expectations had lowered, so it tasted delicious. There was plenty of crab meat, and it was tender, much better than before. I enjoyed it by eating it as it is first, then with condiments, and finally as ochazuke. The crab cream croquette was small but tasty. I ended up eating a whole pot of dried daikon radish because it was so delicious. Despite the initial bad impression, the food was good. The price was also reasonable.

Located near Nihonbashi, between Nihonbashi and Mitsukoshimae subway stations on the Nihonbashi side, is a crab cuisine specialty restaurant established in 1970. For lunch, they offer the "Gokanimeshi" for 1,950 yen, which includes crab rice, one crab cream croquette, and three side dishes (today's options were dried daikon radish, pickled Chinese cabbage, and dried gourd). The crab rice is a masterpiece with plenty of snow crab served on subtly flavored Japanese rice, sprinkled with fish roe. You can add sesame and Japanese pepper for a flavor change, and finish by pouring plenty of dashi soup to enjoy it as ochazuke. The crab has a wonderful flavor and texture, and the dashi is elegant and deep in flavor. The croquette was equally delicious, with a crispy outer layer and a creamy, crab-filled inside that made me want to have another one. Although there is a branch in the Coredo Muromachi building directly connected to Mitsukoshimae subway station, the original restaurant has a much better atmosphere and overall experience.

I visited around 1 pm for lunch. The place was not crowded, maybe because it was past the usual lunch hour. I tried the most affordable option, the regular size crab rice bowl for 1,950 yen. It came with a cream croquette, which was a nice surprise. It seems like you're supposed to eat it as is, with condiments and broth just like hitsumabushi. Even though it was the regular size, it had a good amount of crab on top and tasted delicious. The green onions, wasabi, and the sesame and sansho pepper on the table were also tasty. The ochazuke (tea poured over rice) was also delicious. I might try the cream croquette set meal next time. I enjoyed my meal today as well.

Today I came to "Kanifuku" in Nihonbashi. The crab meal set costs 5,500 yen including tax. - Appetizer platter with 3 types of dishes: crab namul, shellfish, and bonito. - Sashimi of snow crab and king crab. The snow crab was sweet and delicious. - Crab cream croquette with shiso leaf, creamy and refreshing croquette with an interesting flavor. - Crab chawanmushi, a chawanmushi with a crab flavor and plenty of crab meat. - Crab rice bowl with lots of crab meat, delicious! Adding sesame and sansho pepper changes the flavor and makes it tasty. There were also croquettes.

I was invited by a friend to go eat crab, which is rare for me! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quiet but had a casual feel, making it easy to relax. We were determined to eat as much crab as possible, so we opted for a course menu costing around 5000 yen for lunch, which included crab miso grilled in the shell, soft-shell crab tempura, and a little bit of alcohol, totaling around 7000 yen! It seemed like a reasonable price for a crab restaurant. I personally felt satisfied after eating so much crab. I'm not accustomed to eating crab regularly, so I can't say if it was the best crab I've ever had, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I would recommend it to those who want to enjoy a crab feast in a casual and affordable way, but it may not be suitable for those looking for the ultimate crab experience. (Choosing a higher-priced course might have made a difference, so take this as a reference...)

End-of-year thank-you party! Plenty of crab and crab cream croquettes, topped with dashi for a satisfying tea-flavored rice bowl lunch! It may be considered reasonable in the world of crab, but it's not cheap compared to my usual lunches, so I plan to use it as a treat again.

When I stayed at Aman Tokyo, I visited this restaurant for lunch. It has a traditional exterior and we walked there from Aman for a stroll. We didn't make a reservation and it was full, but we managed to get a reservation for lunch the next day. I recommend making a reservation in advance. - Food: Kani Meshi (large size). It's not sushi, so it doesn't have vinegar rice. Comes with crab croquette. The crab flavor is strong, and the default size was satisfying. You can sprinkle condiments on it with soup like ochazuke (similar to hitsumabushi), but I mostly ate it without soup. Lots of crab, very happy. - Solo dining: No problem at all. - Price: Kani Meshi (large size) 3080 yen x 2 = 6160 yen. A great place for crab lovers. When we went, there were many families dining both days. After eating, we enjoyed the Eitaro Main Store, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, and Coredo Muromachi nearby, soaking in the Edo atmosphere.

This is my second visit, about 5 years since my last. I visited around 1:30 pm on a weekday and it was quiet and relaxing. I had the Crab Croquette Lunch. The croquettes were large and crispy with a thin crust. The crab cream inside was delicious on its own, even without the sauce. The staff recommended eating the croquettes with bell peppers, like a sandwich. It wasn't bad, but personally, I didn't think it was a great combination. The sauce had a slightly sharp taste that I didn't particularly like. Total cost (including tax): Crab Croquette Lunch - 1,600 yen. Credit card and PayPay payment accepted.

Having lunch at Mitsukoshi. I decided to splurge a little today. Arrived around 11:45 and had to wait for about half an hour. The restaurant isn't as big as I thought. The dish consists of crab meat on top of mixed rice, similar to hitsumabushi style. I ate it with condiments and enjoyed it as ochazuke. Overall, it was decent for the price.
