When you come to the town of Rumoi, you must try the local specialty scallops. After purchasing scallops as souvenirs at the direct sales store, I went to a local bustling restaurant for lunch. The restaurant has a parking lot that can accommodate 30 cars and opens at 11 am. When I arrived, there was already one group of customers, and more people started coming in, making it very lively by the time I left. It is a very popular restaurant. The interior has a calm, old-fashioned atmosphere. They offer a variety of dishes such as sushi, set meals, ramen, curry, Chinese food, soba, rice bowls, and appetizers, making it a great place for lunch drinks. According to other reviews, the seafood salad comes with salmon roe. The most popular dish is the fresh scallop rice bowl, and the scallop and sea urchin rice bowl is also tempting. After some hesitation, I decided to order the luxurious scallop set meal. The Scallop Set Meal for ¥2200 was served in about 5 minutes, surprisingly fast! It looked like a dinner at a ryokan, with sashimi, fried food, grilled shellfish, pickles, miso soup, and a variety of cooking methods. The thick and juicy scallops spread sweetness in your mouth as you chew. The grilled shellfish had a savory saltiness, and I even enjoyed the remaining broth. The fried dish came with tartar sauce and potato salad, and there was also pineapple for a refreshing touch. The sashimi scallops came with one shrimp each. They also offer free self-service coffee. The content, volume, and cost performance were all excellent. In summary, there are over 10 scallop dishes to choose from, making it a paradise for scallop lovers. They also offer impressive menus like hokki clam set meals and seasonal oyster specials. The restaurant has a total of 125 seats, including Japanese-style seating. It would be suitable for visiting with your touring companions or as a group. You can find videos on Instagram @moritapan7.
