Sports Bar & Dining 42 @ Kokuritsu, Tokyo @ American Diner, Hamburgers, Sports & Pool Bar
The amazingly delicious food is like California cuisine. I was impressed by unexpectedly encountering a wonderful salmon grill. This is a restaurant worth revisiting. Located 50m from the south exit of Kokuritsu Station on the JR Chuo Line, on the corner of the first traffic light, previously occupied by the multinational cuisine restaurant "Republic". The building is quite old and the open passage leading to the elevator at the back is cluttered, but when you go down the elevator on the 2nd floor, a stylish space that defies expectations awaits behind a discreet door. There are intentionally worn wood floors, rough plaster and brick combination walls, light blue ceilings and downlights, all giving a chic vibe. First, there is a spacious open kitchen in front, with a wooden counter facing it and an L-shaped counter seat with white wooden high chairs. The layout includes bench sofas and wooden tables along a brick wall with embedded 4K displays, as well as 4, 2, 2, 4-person table seats facing the windows. Towards the left back, there is a spacious area with a billiards table. The lunch menu offers three types of burgers (cheese, hot chili cheese, teriyaki), steak, hamburger, Aurora salmon grill, pork loin, lamb Jingisukan, spicy chicken, salad, and a full lineup. Burgers can be topped with 10 toppings including jalapenos. Orders can be placed either through QR code self-ordering or verbally to the staff. Today for the first time, I had the Aurora salmon grill for 1,500 yen and the lunch salad for 300 yen. Lunch comes with free refills of soft drinks and soup. The onion soup is incredibly delicious and you'll want to have seconds. The salad consists of broccoli, cauliflower, corn with lemon dressing, all vegetables are raw (broccoli and cauliflower are lightly blanched), providing a crunchy texture, which is wonderful. The Aurora salmon grill, with its crispy and fragrant outer layer, sits beautifully on a bed of corn, green peas, cauliflower, mushrooms, and green beans sautéed in butter and soy sauce, and it is incredibly beautiful and delicious. The owner, a former boxing and wheelchair basketball player, and the chef who honed his skills in the UK, Italy, and Singapore, ensure that you enjoy well-prepared dishes, which will surely surprise you when you visit. This is a place where you will want to come back frequently. Highly recommended.
