Sapporo Station has a versatile restaurant that offers meals, drinks, and light snacks, all conveniently connected to the station. It was quite crowded on a weekday. This time, I had grilled salmon for lunch. It was 11:40 on a weekday. After finishing shopping with my companion, we wondered what to eat. We decided to try Dokidateya Ieoka! The ticket machine outside the store showed a wait time of 9 groups. We decided to wait. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we ordered our food quickly and waited for it to be served. It took another 20 minutes for our food to be brought to us. But it was worth the wait for the grilled fish! I ordered the grilled silver salmon with rice and clam soup, and some salmon roe on the side. Dokidateya has several branches, but the Stella Place branch has a good menu that caters to various customers. You can customize your meal, such as ordering sashimi alone or creating your own seafood bowl. The grilled salmon was thick and satisfying, served with plenty of grated daikon radish and a choice of special soy sauce or regular soy sauce. The clam soup was sweet with white miso and had plenty of small clams. The salmon roe was slightly less in quantity than before but still worth the price. The pickled vegetables buffet was a nice addition, and the complimentary miso soup that came with the rice set was delicious. I ended my meal with a satisfying salmon rice bowl. I was full and satisfied. The interesting part was seeing how different groups of customers enjoyed the restaurant in their own ways. Dokidateya is a smart business that caters to various needs. I will definitely visit again.

I went to this restaurant across the street because Nemuro Hanamaru had a 49-group wait. It's actually part of the same chain. I ordered the Butsukari Don (rice bowl with sliced fish). The fish was delicious, as expected since it's the same as Nemuro Hanamaru. The miso soup with clams was also tasty, with a delicious broth.

When traveling and not sure where to go with limited time, head to a station building. That's what I did without high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. The system is fantastic here. Grilled fish, fried dishes, seafood - you can mix and match them as single items or in set meals (donburi), which is great. In the end, I ordered too much and ate too much! Everything was fresh, large, and delicious, a pleasant surprise for someone from Tokyo. I later found out there's a branch in Yotsuya, Tokyo, too! If I have the chance, I'll visit there as well. The main ingredient was salmon, which paired well with the sesame sauce. I also poured some dashi halfway through, which was a light kombu broth. The combination of the rich sesame sauce and the refreshing dashi made for a delicious meal.

I felt like eating fish, so I had thick-cut swordfish. It was thick and packed with meat. The texture was firm and the saltiness was just right. I couldn't stop eating it. The rice was corn rice with pickled egg yolk, which was also delicious. Of course, I had seconds of white rice. It was delicious, but I still prefer silver salmon. Next time, I'll go back to that. The cabbage could have been a bit crisper, it felt like there were too many tough parts. The silver salmon butter that the person next to me was eating looked really delicious... The grilled fish restaurant has been attracting long lines every day. As it is part of the Hanamaru Sushi chain, the freshness seems to be good. I went early and got a numbered ticket. I was the 10th person in line 10 minutes before opening. I ordered the thick-cut silver salmon with rice and clam soup for 880 yen plus 280 yen. There weren't many options but everything looked delicious. I love salmon so I chose that. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The salmon was indeed thick-cut. The clam soup was delicious with no fishy taste and just the right amount of miso. I could drink many bowls of it. The silver salmon wasn't very fatty but tasted good with grated radish and soy sauce. Lastly, I poured plenty of bonito dashi over the remaining fish and made ochazuke. The dashi was amazing! This place's dashi is just so good. It might be better to go for seasonal fish for better flavor. The freshness was definitely good. They also offer seafood bowls if you prefer. I go to Hanamaru for seafood bowls. Thank you for the meal. I will come back again.

When ordering a set meal, you can choose between mixed rice with clam soup for 380 yen or just white rice for 320 yen. I mistakenly thought that rice was included in the set meal I ordered. The mixed rice is only served once, and if you want more, you have to switch to white rice. There is a free pickled vegetable buffet with two types of pickles available at the counter. The fried fish varies each day, but I believe it was shrimp, horse mackerel, and cod today. They were a bit overcooked, but I had to finish quickly due to time constraints. It's a shame. So I decided to go for a gentle Japanese set meal at this place. I had been to the clock tower branch before and it was delicious, so I decided to try this branch. I ordered the Thick Cut Mackerel for 880 yen, and a side of white rice and clam soup for 320 yen. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The mackerel was thick and delicious, especially when eaten with ponzu sauce and grated daikon radish. The free refill of rice allowed me to enjoy a second bowl, which I turned into ochazuke. The mackerel set meal was delicious, thank you for the meal! (^^)

My wife and 6-year-old child had the salmon and ikura bowl for 1800 yen, while I had the Hanamaru bowl for 1000 yen, I can't remember the exact name. They offer free extra rice. My bowl had flaked salmon with a crunchy texture of shellfish, ikura, and other tasty flavors. The miso soup with clams was not only flavorful from the clam broth but also had delicious miso. I usually don't find clam miso soup tasty, but this one was delicious. I also like Nishikyo-yaki, so I hope they add it to the menu. Overall, it's a satisfying restaurant. The interior has a family restaurant feel, so it's not ideal for lingering, but it's understandable given the location. Highly recommended.

The bowl looked small, but it was just right since it was for dinner. It was written that there were 6 types of seafood, but most of them looked like salmon. I chose this place for a seafood lunch and drinks in Sapporo Station. The restaurant has high ratings and is open all day, which is convenient for daytime drinking. Although they offer fried and grilled items, I wanted sashimi, so I opted for the customizable seafood bowl toppings without rice as a side dish for my drinks. For an additional 300 yen, you can add rice and miso soup to make it a seafood bowl. I ordered: Sapporo Draft Beer (561 yen x 3), Komai no Ko (160 yen), Live Turban Shell (380 yen), Thick-Cut Bonito (250 yen), and Thick-Cut Tuna (250 yen). Unfortunately, my favorite live scallop was sold out, but the Komai no Ko, Live Turban Shell, and Thick-Cut Bonito were delicious choices. The seafood dishes were top-notch, as expected from the Hanamaru chain. They also offer unlimited pickles, which was a nice touch. After work, I felt like having some fish, so I decided to come to this restaurant. I wanted something light, so I chose the sashimi bowl. It came with thick-cut salmon, scallops, negitoro, and salmon tataki - four items in total. After ordering, I felt like I wanted to add one more dish, but four items turned out to be just right for me haha. Of course, I finished it all with some bonito broth poured over the rice. I arrived around 5:30 PM on a Friday and was able to get in without waiting, but it started getting crowded soon after, so I'll aim to arrive around the same time next time.

For our final lunch during our 2023 Hokkaido trip, we visited the "Ichinohoshi and Seafood Bowl Freshly Made Store" at Stella Place. This restaurant is part of the Hanamaru brand owned by Hanamaru Co., Ltd., with three locations in Sapporo and one in Tokyo. I ordered the "Assorted Seafood Bowl" for 1,078 yen. The pickles were self-service, with options like pickled mustard greens and pickled daikon. The meal also came with clam soup, which had a good amount of clams in it. The assorted seafood bowl was colorful and delicious, featuring a variety of seafood such as marinated tuna, salmon, octopus, whitebait, and shellfish. I enjoyed the different flavors and textures. About halfway through the meal, I poured the hot broth over the rest of the bowl to turn it into a delicious rice soup dish. It was a double delight! The 6th floor "Dining & Cafe" at JR Sapporo Station is conveniently located right above the station, making it a great spot for a meal. It might be even better than eating at New Chitose Airport, where the usual routine involves buying souvenirs and then relaxing in the card lounge until check-in time.

The thick-cut salmon is also great with plenty of fat. The negitoro is delicious too! The mackerel is just normal tasty. As for the marinated herring, I'm not a big fan. It's more like a side dish for alcohol. But people who like it will enjoy it! Overall, I'm very satisfied with the seafood bowl! I finished it in no time! I went to the Nemuro Hanamaru revolving sushi restaurant in Sapporo for dinner, but there was a 70-group wait, so I gave up. Instead, I went to the restaurant in front where there were only 2 groups waiting. It was also a Hanamaru revolving sushi restaurant, so I had high hopes. However, the grilled fish was tough, and the salmon roe (ikura) was more like trout roe. The pickled vegetables, which were said to be all-you-can-eat, were only two types. Overall, it was disappointing.

If you feel like eating fish around Zatsueki Station, don't hesitate to visit Dekitateya! Of course, the thick-cut silver salmon with rice and miso soup set is a must. The salmon is unusually thick! It has a powerful presence! The flesh is dense and very plump. It's really delicious... It's just right to pour plenty of the special sauce on it. The skin is perfectly grilled too. I eat every last bite. The grated daikon radish is also delicious! At first, I had the today's mixed rice. It has sakura shrimp in it~! The seasoned egg yolk is sticky and delicious when eaten with rice as a side dish! It's irresistible... I had a second helping of white rice~! The glossy rice goes down smoothly! And for the finishing touch, salmon tea pickles! It's a blissful ending time~ The broth is gentle. It's really satisfying! So delicious, so delicious. The miso soup has clams. It's always clams, isn't it? Just by chance? Sometimes it's nice to have a simple miso soup with different ingredients, so I would be happy if there were other options... I traveled from Chitose to Obihiro early in the morning, and tonight I am in Sapporo. Since I have traveled a fair distance yesterday and today, I wanted to arrive at the hotel quickly and check-in. With no energy to go far, I decided to take a stroll around Sapporo Station since my hotel is right in front of it. I went to JR Tower Stellar Place, where there is a favorite restaurant of mine that serves dried fish and seafood bowls. Usually, I visit the restaurant at the Clock Tower, but tonight I went to the JR Tower Stellar Place branch. Unfortunately, the salmon and salmon roe bowl I wanted was sold out, so I ordered a bowl with salmon, whitebait, tuna, and salmon topping. The shredded salmon was incredibly delicious, and I finished off with a tea-soaked rice dish.
