As the sun set and I looked up at the sky, the deep blue dome with only a few visible stars reminded me of the tranquility of the rice fields, the mysterious winter atmosphere, and the overwhelming stars, all contrasted against the noise and lights of the city. In this setting, I arrived at the Sapporo Genghis Khan Yuki Daruma main store. The 2-story Kushi-mu 6.4 Building, which was destroyed by a fire in 2021, has been rebuilt into a 5-story building, now known as 6.4 Building. Inside, the golden Genghis Khan pot and the snowman counter caught my eye. I stored my coat in the chair's storage space, sat down, and started looking at the menu. I ordered a drink first, opting for oolong tea, and then ordered raw lamb shoulder, rib roast, and a vegetable platter. The raw lamb shoulder was tender and had no gaminess, meant to be eaten with sauce. The sauce had a mild flavor with a mix of miso and soy sauce, enhanced by coarse chili pepper, sliced chili pepper, and garlic. The vegetable platter was surprisingly generous, and I enjoyed the various vegetables cooked with sauce. I also tried the rib roast and later added lamb heart, both recommended to be eaten with rock salt. The rib roast was delicious with the sauce, while the lamb heart had a crispy texture and no gaminess. Although I was quite full by the end, I was glad I tried everything. The restaurant is located at 16.4 Building 1F, Minami 6-jo Nishi 4-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.
