I bought some inari sushi at "Mamedanuki" in Mitaka. It's a stall located outside the station gates. I got the Mitaka-exclusive set of 6 varieties for 797 yen. The set includes flavors like black sugar, wasabi, ginger, and mixed ingredients, offering a variety of tastes to enjoy. The seasoning is overall mild, and the rice wrapper is not too sweet, which is nice.

The croquette soba at the standing soba restaurant "Kiraku" wasn't satisfying, so I bought some Inari sushi here. It's a 6-piece pack exclusive to the Mitaka store, with a "Takanotsume flavor" included. Among them, the ginger flavor was the most delicious. The wasabi was also quite good. I have a feeling I'll be coming back to "Kiraku" again soon. ❤ Gotta love it!

On this day in April 2021, I went to Mitaka. After having dinner at "Ishihara Shokudo," I returned to JR Mitaka Station. I looked for some takeout items at the adjacent "Atre Vie Mitaka" before heading back to the station. I found a shop called "Mame Tanuki" on the ticket gate floor and decided to get some takeout from there. Although I haven't personally watched it, this chain store's inari sushi was featured on the popular TV show "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai." On this day, I purchased the following: 1) Black soybean inari sushi for 140 yen including tax, which is made with domestically produced black sugar and has a deep flavor due to the fried tofu. I enjoyed it at home, and the sweet fried tofu was quite impressive. 2) Takanotsume burdock inari sushi for 172 yen including tax, which is a Mitaka store exclusive inari sushi. The spiciness of the takanotsume added a nice touch to the delicious inari sushi. The convenience of the shop inside the station makes it highly accessible.

There was a shop selling "inari sushi" at the station building (Atre Miyako) in Mitaka Station. Recently, there has been an increase in specialty shops for inari sushi. I love inari sushi, so let's buy some to take home. The shop's name is "Mameda Mitaka Store," operated by a company called "Hankyu Delica Eye Co., Ltd." based in Osaka, with over 30 stores nationwide. When I searched online, I found out that "Mameda" was also featured on "Matsuko's Unknown World." I purchased the Mitaka-limited assortment of 6 kinds (819 yen) and the octopus chibi inari with 6 pieces (516 yen). The "Mameda inari" has a great flavor of soaked fried tofu and fragrant golden sesame, with a great combination of shiitake mushrooms and kampyo. The "Gomoku inari" is packed with bamboo shoots, hijiki seaweed, burdock, lotus root, and carrots. The small and cute "octopus chibi inari" has octopus and pickled ginger inside the fried tofu, resembling takoyaki. When dipped in mayonnaise, it creates the illusion of eating takoyaki. Overall, they are small in size and slightly expensive, but very delicious, so I think it's worth the cost. Thank you for the meal.

[Visit on 2020.01.29] Location: There is a shop here when you exit the Mitaka Station ticket gate. Had a late lunch around 4 pm on a weekday. Bought a pack of 5 assorted Inari sushi called "Mamemato" for 668 yen. It includes black bean, wasabi, and regular Inari sushi among others. I really like Inari sushi with beans. I happened to find it in Shizuoka and have been using it occasionally since then. It seems perfect for when you're a little hungry or as a snack or souvenir. Will definitely use it again. Thank you for the meal.

There used to be an inari sushi specialty shop near Mitaka Station and also a store at Gransta in Tokyo Station. In the past, it was also introduced on a TV show called "Matsuko's Unknown World." I bought inari sushi with beans, black beans, gomoku, myoga, and wasabi (myoga is seasonal, so it's not usually available). I personally like the inari sushi with beans and wasabi. There are various types of inari sushi available, so it's fun to try different ones.

I have purchased from this shop before and tried their classic varieties of inari such as gomoku inari and kokuto inari, which were very delicious. While walking near Mitaka Station, I saw a unique colored inari sushi - a konjac inari?! I have never tried this before! It turns out that it is a limited-time offer from the 20th to the 26th of each month. It looked appetizing to me, with the konjac absorbing the flavor of the inari and a hint of yuzu flavor in the rice. I had to buy it and it was really good. It's a shame that no one in my family likes konjac though. I'll keep that a secret. It was a delicious meal. I hope I can visit again during that time period.

Second time♪ At the Mitaka store, there is a special dish called "Taka no Tsume Gobo Ni Inari Sushi" inspired by the Tokugawa shogun and falconry in Mitaka. This dish is certified by the souvenir department as TAKA-1. It is priced at 172 yen per piece, which is almost double the price of a Mamedanuki at 97 yen. This was my first time trying the "Taka no Tsume Gobo Ni Inari" and I enjoyed it because it is quite spicy due to the Taka no Tsume chili pepper variety, which I like. However, as I have low blood pressure and tend to feel cold, it might not be recommended for those with high blood pressure.

I bought Inari sushi from Mamedanuki for the first time in a while. A few years ago, when I used to go to Tachikawa frequently, I would often buy from Mamedanuki at Ecute Tachikawa inside the ticket gate. I even had a point card. However, the Mamedanuki store I used to frequent at Ecute Tachikawa closed down. Then, the new store I tried, Mamedanuki at Emio Tokorozawa, also closed down quickly. I was disappointed and lost interest in buying for a while. But over time, that feeling of loss healed, and this time, I bought a Mamedanuki sampler pack with five different kinds at Mamedanuki Atre Vie Mitaka outside the Mitaka station gate. It included my favorite wasabi-flavored Inari and the black soybean matcha Inari that I wanted to try. I bought the pack with five varieties instead of buying individually. Among the five, I tried the wasabi and the black soybean matcha Inari. The black soybean matcha Inari is a limited edition for May. The matcha flavor made with Uji matcha is light and not too strong, and it balanced perfectly with the vinegar rice and the black beans from Tanba. Black beans are good for beauty, and it was delicious, so I will definitely buy the May limited edition black soybean matcha Inari again.

I arrived at Mitaka Station a little early for my appointment and was looking for a place to grab a snack. I stumbled upon a specialty inari sushi shop, which I had never seen before. I decided to try the assorted inari sushi, and it was delicious. There are so many different flavors to try, so I would love to visit again if I have the chance. If this shop were near my home station, I think I would find myself buying from there occasionally.

The "Anywhere Footprint Squad" (named by bankara) - Every time I came to Mitaka Station, I was curious about it, but I never stopped by. It's a specialty shop for Inari-san located in the free passage. I was planning to have a drink at the tempura shop and then have ramen as a finishing touch at the South Exit... but I changed my mind on the way. It turns out it's an Inari-san from Osaka... I thought it was a triangle, but it's actually a normal barrel shape. Is the triangle shape only in Kyoto? The size is small, maybe because it's a specialty shop? The basic menu is a must-try with the name "Mame Tanuki Inari". It includes sesame, shiitake mushrooms, and dried gourd with a sweet seasoning that you can't miss. The wasabi Inari with mountain vegetables is a nice accent, and it's delicious in its own way. It may not be suitable for a men's lunch, but it makes a good snack to satisfy your hunger.

Mamedari, read as "mame da," is a restaurant operated by a company affiliated with the Hankyu Group, with outlets mainly in department stores and shopping centers. The one in Mitaka is located near the ticket gates as part of a food tenant area. It seems like the main customers are commuters. Today, I stopped by for takeout lunch before a baseball game. Since I had some time before the game, I got off at Mitaka and visited the restaurant. The shop is very small with just one counter, but they offer various types of inari sushi that can be purchased individually. Today was my first time, so I ordered the pre-packed "Inari Goshu" which includes different flavors such as regular, ginger, wasabi, black bean, and burdock. Among them, burdock is a seasonal limited edition. The inari sushi here is bite-sized and easy to eat, with just the right amount of vinegar in the rice. Among the flavors, I particularly liked the wasabi and burdock ones. The wasabi has a hint of spiciness that complements the sweetness of the tofu skin, while the crunchy texture of the burdock is enjoyable, with the dried small fish adding a nice touch. It's a convenient place for takeout. Thank you for the meal!

This is a shop inside the ticket gate. I bought Inari sushi for dinner to take home. It's not because I'm lazy, it's because it's delicious. It's so sweet. I especially like wasabi, ginger, and yuzu lotus root. Was seven pieces per person too much? I got five and that was enough. The expiration date is until 11:00 p.m. on the same day. If you can't finish the Inari sushi, refrigerate it and toast it in the toaster the next morning to make grilled Inari sushi (don't try this at home). Discovered "Hawk Claw and Burdock Root" and "Chestnut Matcha" in September '16. Discovered "Nozawana" in November '16.

Huh? Did you call me??? While walking through the outside concourse of Mitaka Station, I suddenly looked up and saw "Mameda." I was drawn into the store and bought Mameda for 86 yen and Kuro Mameda for 129 yen. I sat on a bench on the pedestrian bridge on the south side of the station and opened them right away. They were cute bite-sized fried tofu pouches filled with rice. Mameda is the standard here, and Kuro Mameda is the beginning of their color series using black sugar. The golden sesame seeds inside the rice added a nice texture. The seasoning was gentle, not too sweet or too strong, just the right balance that made me reach for more. I've always loved fried tofu pouches since I was a kid, but I guess each region or family has their own version. I looked it up on Wiki, and it seems like fried tofu pouches are found in other countries, but "Inari-zushi" is unique to Japan. K-san, are you relieved now? (laughs) Mameda was launched in 2006 as a project of Hankyu Delica, a subsidiary of Hankyu Hanshin Toho Group that caused a stir with the Murakami Fund. In Tokyo, they have stores at Ecute Tachikawa, Ecute Shinagawa, Grandeuo Kamata, Gransta, Ecute Ueno, Ecute Akabane, KITTE, and here at Mitaka Station. It would be great if they expanded to more locations so that it's easier to buy. Remember to take your trash with you when you're done! Bon appétit!

Just outside the JR Mitaka station ticket gate is a specialty shop for inari sushi. They offer a wide variety of delicious inari sushi. Personally, I love inari sushi and eat around 10-20 pieces per week. I usually end up buying it from convenient stores, where a pack of 3 costs around 180 yen. I've been curious about this shop for a while, but the prices seemed a bit high for me. However, one day, during heavy snowfall on February 14, 2014 at around 18:40, I managed to make it to Mitaka station on the Sobu line. While waiting for a junior colleague who was also trying to get to Mitaka, I seized the opportunity to try the inari sushi at this shop. I tried the Mame-Doufu Inari (original) and Wasabi Inari, both were amazing. The Mame-Doufu Inari had ingredients like dried gourd, and the rice was made of sticky rice, offering the best taste and texture I've ever had in inari sushi. The Wasabi Inari had a refreshing wasabi flavor, rather than just spiciness. It's a must-try for inari sushi enthusiasts. The higher price was definitely worth it. I'll definitely buy and eat more in the future.

Location & Atmosphere: Located diagonally in front of the ticket gate of Mitaka Station, this shop specializes in selling Inari sushi. It is situated within the Dila Mitaka commercial facility, making it one of the few non-stingy shops where you can purchase without passing through the ticket gate. The warm and traditional Japanese wooden exterior of the shop is quite impressive. The interior is very narrow, with hardly any space between the door and the showcase, so you have to bend down to see the products, which may cause your body to stick out of the shop. Food: - Inari Sushi: A normal and traditional type of Inari sushi, with a rich and sweet fried tofu pouch. It releases a juicy oil when you bite into it, which blends well with the rice. - Black Sesame Inari: This variation of Inari sushi is made with black sesame seeds, giving it a slightly different flavor. It's not incredibly delicious, but it's much better than the average Inari sushi you can find elsewhere. Price & Menu: - Inari Sushi: 84 yen per piece - Black Sesame Inari: 126 yen per piece - Limited-time Tarako (cod roe) Inari was also available. Other options include Golden Ginger Inari (105 yen per piece) and Gomoku (five ingredients) Inari (147 yen per piece). Overall: The shop opens from 7 am to a little after 10 pm, making it convenient for both pre-work and post-work visits.

It is located near the south entrance of Mitaka Station. Whenever I use Mitaka Station, I always pass by this place, although it catches my attention. (laughs) Since it is a specialty store for Inari sushi, they only sell Inari sushi, and I thought it would be nice if they had a few side dishes as well. Anyway, since it was my first time, I bought a set of 5 pieces of Inari sushi. The contents were Mameinari (standard), Kokuto (black sugar), Wasabi, and Gomoku. By the way, there were 2 pieces of Mameinari. Mameinari has the strongest sweetness and a rich flavor. From the fact that they have the store name as the product name, it seems to be their signature product. Anyone who eats it won't complain! Kokuto had a rich sweetness with white sesame in the aburaage, which was an accent. Wasabi had a mild spiciness, not too strong, and the aroma of wasabi was pleasant and easy to eat. Gomoku had hijiki, lotus root, carrot, and other ingredients, with a gentle flavor. It didn't have any particular standout features. Overall, it was simply delicious. If it were a bit cheaper, it might become a hit! Oops! That was just a wishful thinking (laughs)
