Today is a holiday, so the restaurants I usually go to for lunch are all closed. I came to the underground food court at the central bus terminal, but it's closed for facility maintenance during the three-day weekend. I ended up coming here, located underground at the TV Tower, where the restaurants seem to change frequently except for the set meal and soba shops. Despite it being a holiday, it's past 2 o'clock and there are only 3 groups of customers here. This is a sister shop of a popular restaurant in Minami Hiragishi, but I didn't really like the main store. The sister shop, Duck Ramen in Higashi-ku Honcho, was really delicious, but it seems they have now completely changed the ramen they serve. The main dish here is tantanmen, but I'm not very hungry, so I ordered a simple salt ramen. I also added 3 pieces of fried chicken and a small bowl of rice for an additional 150 yen. The noodles are thick curly noodles, very soft and chewy. I like softer noodles, so I'm happy, but not many places serve noodles this soft, so preferences may vary. The soup is a simple chicken broth, very clear and good. The toppings are chashu, green onions, seaweed, and an accent of burdock, very simple but complete. All this for 650 yen in Odori, a tourist area, is a great deal. I wish there were more restaurants in the city center offering simple and affordable ramen like this. The fried chicken is small but flavorful, freshly fried and delicious. The rice is also tasty. This is important. However, I would like to try the ramen with lots of vegetables next time. I'll try the tantanmen next time. But it's painful that all the bike parking around here has become reserved only starting this year...

The chicken flavor is prominent, while the dried fish flavor is quite subtle. It's a ramen without any strong taste. The noodles are smooth and chewy. The burdock sticks are surprisingly soft. It's not as light as soba noodles, but perfect for when you're in the mood for a mellow ramen.

I ordered the Sapporo Tanmen for 880 yen. The sign says it has a rich chicken white broth soup and locally grown vegetables stir-fried over high heat, creating a hearty flavor. The plentiful vegetables are crunchy, and the medium-thick curly noodles are delicious. The soup is more flavorful than rich, with a good depth of flavor without being too heavy (so this is what they mean by hearty...). I'm torn between trying the soupless Tanmen or the stamina-style Tanmen next time. Thank you for the meal.

I really wanted to eat ramen, so I came here. The location is underground near the TV Tower, easy to find. I ordered the boiled fish and soy sauce ramen. The taste of boiled fish was subtle. Since the restaurant's name includes "Tantanmen," maybe Tantanmen is recommended? Next time, I'll try the Tantanmen.

I tried the Shio (salt) Ramen from Sapporo Tanmen MEN-EIJI! The light yet flavorful "kotteri" soup, made with Hokkaido vegetables, creates a new style of Sapporo ramen. Topped with a seasoned egg, it was a perfect dinner.

Sapporo Tanmen (880 yen) Following yesterday's champon, today I tried tanmen. It might be my first time having tanmen at a restaurant. Living in Hokkaido, I may not know the authentic taste of champon or tanmen. Tanmen is made with curly noodles in a chicken broth soup, right? The ingredients are separately stir-fried, right? The cabbage and bean sprouts are well-cooked and fragrant, stimulating the appetite. The noodles are made from Hokkaido wheat called Lulrosso, and the vegetables are also locally sourced from Hokkaido. It was very delicious. Eiji-san is really skilled. Thank you for the meal.

I think the tantanmen was around ¥800. The chicken broth was rich and flavorful, with lots of vegetables giving it a fragrant aroma. Although there was no chashu, the soup was so flavorful that it didn't feel lacking. The noodles were different, made with wheat from Hokkaido, and had a satisfying chewy texture. Among the ramen options in the city, this one was quite to my liking. I wish they had half portions of noodles available. I will definitely go back!

Sapporo Tanmen ¥880 with luxurious toppings of seaweed, chashu, flavored egg ¥350, Chicken oil rice ¥250, total ¥1,480. It was delicious. The noodles were soft and easy to eat with the vegetables. The vegetables were fragrant and tasty. The flavored egg was delicious with a nice creamy texture. However, I'm not sure if it really goes well with the Tanmen. The chashu was delicious! The chicken oil rice was not what I expected... It wasn't spicy or salty, hmm... I probably won't order it again. The Stamina Sapporo Tanmen seemed more appetizing. I would like to come back to try a different menu.

Sometimes I crave Tanmen, but I don't like getting sweaty, so I opted for Tsukemen instead. The noodles here are really delicious. I slurped them up in no time. The customer next to me kept bowing and taking photos of their ramen when it arrived, which was a bit amusing.笑

Today I went for lunch and took a walk to Sapporo TV Tower near Odori Park, where I visited Men-Eiji, a restaurant I had been curious about. Their specialty is Sapporo Ramen! I ordered the Sapporo Ramen with plenty of nutritious vegetables and a seasoned boiled egg on top. The crispy vegetables were stir-fried and delicious. The curly noodles were soaked in flavorful soup and served piping hot with a salty broth that had a rich flavor. It appeared light but had a strong salty taste. By the time I left the restaurant, I was sweating but satisfied. Thank you for the meal! Next time, I'll try their even richer Stamina-style Sapporo Ramen! Thank you for the meal!

I don't really like it that much, EIJI Sapporo, two people, not alone, I don't participate in choosing the restaurant. If the other person knows that, they also know that I won't complain about the restaurant choice and will quietly follow along if it's not a revisit. However, they don't know if it's a favorite restaurant or not, so sometimes, I end up with a restaurant choice that makes me go "Huh??" This time, it was Tanmen?? And from EIJI too?? Hmm, the stamina of Tanmen?? You pressed that button, huh? That's impossible for me. About 10 minutes?? It looks delicious, but is this really Tanmen?? The vegetables are not cooked through, the texture is hard to describe, which means it's delicious. Are the chives raw?? The vegetables are delicious, enough to fill you up, but the noodles are thick?? Chewy and delicious, if they were any thicker, it would be a no-go for me. The soup is complex, of course, the umami of the vegetables is there, but it also gives a feeling of champon, delicious Tanmen, thank you. It may have left a slightly better impression.

On March 24, 2023, I had work and missed lunchtime, so I was wondering what to eat in town. I thought about having soba noodles under the TV tower, but to my surprise, it was full. I looked back and saw a ramen shop called Men-Eiji. I remembered how delicious it was when I had it in Hiragishi, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Shoyu Ramen with a salt base using a food ticket. The first bite impression was that it smelled strongly of sake. It turned out they used sake in the broth. The aroma was intense, and even though the alcohol was cooked off, it wouldn't be a place to bring children. The flavor was just right, but the strong smell was a bit overpowering. However, what made me rate it lower was the service. I probably won't be going back to this place again.

When I was young, I mistakenly thought the "Sapporo TV Tower" was the "Tokyo Tower" - "Old Mistake" ... Today I had lunch at "Sapporo Ramen MEN-EIJI" inside the Tokyo Tower. The "Shoyu Ramen" for 700 yen was disappointing. I had high expectations because it is affiliated with the extremely popular "MEN-EIJI HIRAGISHI BASE" in Sapporo, but it did not meet my expectations at all. The taste and service were not up to par. Despite that, the restaurant was crowded with customers. However, there was only one female staff member during lunchtime, and the table cleaning could not keep up with the number of customers. It was disappointing to see dirty dishes from previous customers while eating. It was my first time visiting the Tokyo Tower in a long time, but I was left feeling disappointed.

I had lunch near the TV tower for work these past few days. Today, I was walking around wondering what to eat, and I found this restaurant underground. It was crowded with salarymen, but luckily it wasn't too busy. It's part of the EIJI chain, right? I ordered the Sapporo ramen (salt flavor) and chicken oil rice. It arrived in about 10 minutes and was delicious, with lots of vegetables.

On November 11th, I was in ramen mode in the morning because it was supposed to be half-price ramen day at Sapporo Ramen Yokocho. However, when I checked the official website, I found out that the half-price event was canceled due to the rise in ingredient costs. It's unfortunate, but understandable given the circumstances. I decided to have a late lunch and remembered Men-Eiji in Sapporo. I headed to Sapporo TV Tower underground and ordered their simmered dried fish and soy sauce ramen. The simple and delicious ramen arrived promptly. The clear broth with a subtle dried fish flavor was delightful, and the medium-thick curly noodles were tasty. The addition of seasoned burdock and seaweed complemented the noodles well. The tender chashu was also to my liking, and I finished the light meal with satisfaction. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal. As I head back, I hope that next year, on November 11th, the half-price ramen day at Sapporo Ramen Yokocho will be back.

Spicy tantanmen is definitely the way to go. I was planning to add cilantro as a topping, but my hangover was too intense to go through with it. Maybe next time. It would be interesting to try more ethnic toppings to really spice things up, but I wonder if that goes against this restaurant's style. The soup is delicious, but the noodles, being the chewy type they are known for, left me wanting more. I realized that for enjoying a simple tantanmen here, the noodles could actually be cheaper. In this restaurant, it seems like adding toppings is recommended.

New business format of Sapporo ramen shop "MEN-EIJI". It seems to be a franchise, but according to the description, it is a "new brand of MEN-EIJI made with Hokkaido noodles, Hokkaido vegetables, and Hokkaido soup ingredients". Purchased "Sapporo Tanmen (880 yen)" from the ticket machine inside the store. Located below the TV Tower. The interior has counter and table seating. Served in just over 5 minutes. The soup is a slightly salty, rich and creamy style, delicious and easy to drink. It is tightened with black pepper. Added ginger to the soup for a flavor change. The homemade medium-thick curly noodles have a chewy texture and go well with the soup. There are plenty of vegetables in the Tanmen, but if they specialize in Tanmen, I would like a little more vegetables. Vegetables are expensive though. Personally, when it comes to Tanmen, I have the image of "Tonari" with lots of vegetables, so... Overall, it was a delicious Tanmen as expected from EIJI. It's nice that they are sticking to Hokkaido ingredients as a concept. It's a place worth revisiting.

Tanmen in Sapporo... it's great. It might be my favorite Tanmen I've ever had. The perfect balance of vegetables and salt, with a rich flavor. It was so delicious. The location is under the Sapporo TV Tower. (I accidentally went through the underground passage, but it's under the tower.) It was delicious!

Sapporo Tanmen for 880 yen. I don't really understand the difference between Tanmen and Champon, but it was delicious. The taste without any artificial seasonings was truly impressive, Eiji-san. However, my companion tried the Niboshi Shoyu for 700 yen and found it more delicious. My memory of the Tanmen is a bit fuzzy. The Niboshi Shoyu is delicious! It's a light chicken broth ramen with a subtle Niboshi flavor. But that subtle flavor lingers until the end. I love that feeling. And it's also made without any artificial seasonings. The noodles are delicious too. Next time, I'll go for the Niboshi Shoyu. Or rather, I'll go to eat the Niboshi Shoyu (laughs). Even though it's a Tanmen restaurant, I preferred the Niboshi Shoyu.

I love Age (Fried Chicken) and have never been disappointed at any location, but I was late in visiting this one because I am not familiar with Tanmen (noodles). However, when I tried it, it was delicious!! The vegetables included cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, and grated ginger, with kaiware (radish sprouts) on top. The vegetables were crunchy, and I could taste the richness and sweetness of the lard. There were slightly fewer vegetables for a Tanmen. The soup reminded me more of Linghatten's Champon than Tanmen. My family also agreed, saying "It's like Champon!" I've never had real Tanmen before, so I'm not sure... but it was very delicious. I had the Sapporo Tanmen for 880 yen, and the Spicy Sapporo Tanmen for 930 yen, and I prefer the spicy one! It had a nice kick to it. The Women's Tanmen had a slightly smaller portion. The Chicken Broth Shio Shoyu Ramen for 700 yen was also delicious. They have two types of ramen and Tanmen, so it's a tough choice. It's rare to see burdock on top. For an additional 150 yen, you get 3 pieces of Zangi (fried chicken), which is a great deal! It's a very satisfying side dish when you just want a little something extra. I think it's a great restaurant for Age lovers. Thank you for the meal!

"Sapporo Tanmen" for 880 yen is located near the subway station on the main street, walking towards the TV tower, just up the escalator and stairs on the left. To help first-time visitors navigate easily, here is the ordering process: Upon entering, there is a ticket machine on the left where you buy your ticket, and then you are told to take any seat you like as you head to the counter in the back. Inside, there are counter seats as well as two small tables for two. Sit down and hand your ticket to the staff. You can get a wet towel and water from the self-service corner. Store your belongings under the counter or in the box under your chair. You can hear the unique sound of the Tanmen pot being shaken in the kitchen, and your meal arrives quickly. The rich soup made with local chicken, chewy local noodles, and stir-fried local vegetables are all delicious. Tanmen, which doesn't focus on appearance like ramen but offers plenty of vegetables, is truly enjoyable. It was delicious!"
