The Hana in Tanaka is a small ramen shop that opened on the evening of Kyo no Hana in Nippori, with three tables inside and two outside. I ordered the soupless tantanmen (1000 yen) and my companion ordered the ramen (650 yen), along with a Taiwanese beer (650 yen). The owner was busy making noodles inside the shop, which was entertaining to watch. The food arrived quicker than expected. Although it's a Taiwanese cuisine restaurant, the flavors are quite traditional. The hand-made noodles have a chewy texture similar to thin udon noodles. The soupless tantanmen was not too spicy and easy to eat. The ramen was a classic soy sauce flavor that paired well with the hand-made noodles. The Taiwanese beer had a light taste similar to Qingdao beer.

At the entrance of Yanaka Ginza, there is a restaurant with tables outside where people were eating. It was the last day of a 4-day weekend and the area was crowded with people. I went in without any prior information and tried the negi ramen and oolong highball. It seems to be a Taiwanese restaurant. The noodles were hand-made and had a texture between ramen and udon, which paired well with the soup. I've never been to Taiwan, but the noodles I had in China were similar, so this might be close to the authentic taste.

Just a 2-minute walk from Nippori Kitaguchi. It's a shop near the entrance of Yanaka Ginza, just before Yuyake Dandan. The sound of hand-made noodles being made echoes through the air, hoping for delicious noodles... This time, I had pan-fried dumplings, steamed chicken with sudachi, and refreshing cold noodles. The pan-fried dumplings are large, with thin skin and juicy filling, perfect with beer. The steamed chicken with sudachi cold noodles is simple but the soup has a rich umami and a light salty taste. The simple steamed chicken and sudachi go well together. The hand-made noodles have a satisfying chewiness, but you can eat them all the way through feeling refreshed. Perfect for the hot season now. Now that I've had a good meal, it's time to take a stroll around Yanaka~

Walking from Nippori Station towards Yanaka Ginza, there is a new Taiwanese restaurant located overlooking Yanaka Ginza called Yuuyake Dandan. The interior is simple, resembling a makeshift store commonly found in Taiwanese night markets. The menu is quite limited, likely offering dishes that are easy to prepare. They even have items like Taiwanese railway bento, suggesting a concept of providing meals to bring on trains. The dishes, such as the Braised Pork Rice and Fried Chicken, were served in disposable styrofoam containers. The Braised Pork Rice was well-made with chunks of pork belly simmered in a sweet and savory sauce over rice. The Fried Chicken seemed to be a frozen pre-made product with a strong seasoning in the batter. The prices were on the higher side, but it may be considered normal for Chinese and Taiwanese visitors exploring Yanaka Ginza. During my visit, all other customers were speaking in Chinese, suggesting that the restaurant is popular among tourists from China and Taiwan.

It used to be a place in Shenzhen, but now it's a Taiwanese restaurant. The menu is limited to items like noodle soup, lu rou fan, two types of bento boxes, fried chicken, and xiao long bao. Everything seems to be available for takeout, but in what situations would you use it? The taste of the noodle soup is just like what you would find in Taiwan. The bonito broth soup pairs well with the vermicelli. It's delicious. As a fan of noodle soup, I'm happy that I can get this for 600 yen in the neighborhood. If I were to be a bit picky, it would be even better if they could make it a bit cheaper, add some cilantro on top, or offer a larger portion. Thank you for the meal.
