After several months, I went on a business trip to Hakata. On the first night, I visited Sanmitsuhashi, a branch of the popular Sanmitsuhashi series, which specializes in shellfish. Located on the second floor of a building along the main street, the entrance looks like an apartment door. Inside, there is a large counter in the shape of a "コ". The staff here explain and cook the food right in front of you over a charcoal grill, which is really fun. This particular branch focuses on shellfish, such as prawns, shrimp, and crabs. I tried the snow crab, which was a bit pricey at 15000 yen, but worth it. After enjoying the delicious crab meat, I finished off with a crab shell sake, which was infused with the flavor of crab miso.

It's been a while since I had a drink with my former colleague. I was in charge of choosing the restaurant, and I thought of "Kakino Sankoubashi" restaurant. When I called, they said, "You can come from 6:30 pm, with a limit of 2 hours." They also said, "Early arrival is fine," so I made a reservation for 6:15 pm. The restaurant is located near the Sangokubashi intersection along the Kokutai Road. It's on the 2nd floor of an old building. When you open the door that looks like an office building and go up the stairs, you'll see the kitchen in the center of the floor. Surrounding the kitchen in a U-shape are about 14 counter seats. We ordered the "Today's Shellfish Assortment (2 servings for 7,000 yen)" and the "Today's Vegetable Assortment (2 servings for 1,200 yen)" from the menu, and started with cold sake from Tanaka Rokugo as a chaser for bottled beer. This place is a seafood (especially shellfish) focused robatayaki restaurant. There is a charcoal grill in front of the counter, and the staff explains while grilling, making it very easy for us. The appetizer was skewered clams, which were lightly grilled and had a faint soy sauce aroma, boosting our excitement from the start. The staff explained and suggested dishes like, "You can have the Turban Shell grilled in a pot as it is, or with added eggs." They also mentioned, "The shrimp will be served with the shell after you eat the meat first." Their explanations and suggestions were polite, and the perfectly grilled dishes were delicious. We added Imari ware and bottled beer, and as we enjoyed the crab and large clams served one after another, it felt like paradise. Occasionally, walk-in customers were turned away with "We are fully booked with reservations," so reservations are a must. The conversation with my colleague was lively, and we had a very enjoyable meal. Thank you for the feast.

This was my first time using this restaurant, and the food was delicious. Every crab dish was a hit and incredibly tasty. One thing I highly recommend trying is the "onigiri." It's just a plain white rice ball, but it's so delicious that it makes me grateful to have been born Japanese. Be sure to order it when you go!

Two weeks ago, I made a reservation and visited on a weekday night! It was quite difficult to get a reservation, but I finally managed to secure one this time! It's a rare crustacean specialty izakaya! We ordered today's shellfish platter with 7 varieties, a platter of 5 rare delicacies, fried marinated squid, and grilled rice balls! The shellfish platter included 1) Honbinosu shellfish 2) Turban shell 3) Blue crab (to be eaten with vinegar soy sauce) 4) Carabineros shrimp 5) Scallop 6) Snow crab 7) Large clam. The platter of rare delicacies included 1) Sea pineapple 2) Okinawan salted fish roe 3) Sea urchin 4) Sweet shrimp innards 5) Clam Changja. Everything was delicious, and the quality of the crustaceans was high! They had a salty taste and were perfect snacks to go with alcohol. It was a feast! Thank you for the meal!

It was quite difficult to make a reservation, but finally managed to visit this place♪ Located near Nishi Nakasu, on the 2nd floor of the Sanko Building. The impressive red counter in a horseshoe shape. They cook the food right in front of you at the hearth. A refreshing style in the city, very exciting. The grilled clam skewers as appetizers were delicious, bursting with flavor with every bite! I bet the beer for cheers tasted amazing^ ^ The pickled radish was large and crunchy, almost like a light pickle, which I really liked. If it's on the menu, I always order it. The crab had plenty of shredded meat topped with miso sauce! For crab lovers, this is a must-try~♡ I believe this was priced depending on the season. The scallop sashimi was fresh and chewy. The oysters were large and juicy. The turban shell soaked in soy sauce was delicious. Yum~♡ The clams, one of my favorites, were chewy and delicious with each bite. I love the broth that comes out of clams. The crab potato salad, maybe with basil? It smelled so good and was delicious. I really enjoyed it^ ^ It came with vegetables, lotus root, and shishito peppers. They cut it into portions for two and grilled it for us. Very thoughtful! The staff were very lively and full of energy! It seems like a good place for a quick first stop rather than a leisurely drink. Smoking is allowed, so it's great for smokers too. I wanted to come back here again, so I decided to have a daytime drink while enjoying some shellfish. They open at 3 pm, so I made a reservation for 3 pm about 3 days before my visit. I was the first one there, but soon other reserved customers started coming in, showing how popular it is even during lunchtime. First, I enjoyed some flatfish sashimi and oyster salted innards while thinking about what else to order. The oyster salted innards were simply irresistible, the kind of delicacy that makes you want to savor every bite. Next, I tried the shellfish platter recommended by the restaurant. We shared the 1.5 serving for 5,200 yen between two people, and it was more than enough. The lineup included sweet shrimp in soy sauce, turban shell, crab, prawn, and scallop if I remember correctly. The sweet shrimp in soy sauce was grilled with the shell peeled off, making it a delightful treat till the end. The crab was on the smaller side but delicious, and it was satisfying to cleanly remove the meat. After finishing the scallop, we put rice into the scallop shell to create a gratin-like dish, with crab and prawn mixed in, making it a great value for the price. I had tried the chicken wing shell before and wanted to have it again, as it was packed with crab meat inside. Both the chicken wing and crab are favorites of mine, making it a great menu item for me. The staff grilled everything for us, allowing us to watch as it cooked before our eyes, making it a slightly luxurious daytime drink. It was a feast.

At first, I used to avoid crustaceans because they all looked like insects to me, but my wife seemed to really like them, so I decided to give it a try. And wow, they were delicious! After half a century of avoiding crustaceans, I finally conquered my fear. I finished off with some crab ramen, and it was amazing. The restaurant specializes in seafood, particularly shellfish. Each dish is meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. From the appetizers to the baked turban shell, to putting rice and cheese in scallop shells to make gratin, you can see many unique dishes that you've never seen before. The young staff members put in a lot of effort to run the restaurant successfully. Each seat at the counter has a charcoal stove where the staff members cook, making it easy to interact with them.

Located in Nishinakasu 11-6 area in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, this restaurant is just an 8-minute walk from Nishitetsu Tenjin Fukuoka Station and about a 10-minute walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station on the subway. Opened in March 2019, this is a sister restaurant of the popular robatayaki restaurant "Raikyo" group! Their specialty is robatayaki focusing on crustaceans and shellfish, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers. The exterior is on the second floor of a mixed building, and the interior consists of a counter seat surrounding the cooking area in a C-shape. On weekend nights, the place is bustling with customers coming and going. I decided to try the "Karamori 2 servings" based on the staff's recommendation. The meal started with a complimentary dish of lightly seared sweet shrimp and clams, paired perfectly with sake. The sweet shrimp was then grilled until the head and shell became crispy. Next, the turban shell was meticulously cooked. The main dishes included cute-sized snow crabs, scallops seasoned with butter soy sauce, small salt-grilled shrimp, and the finale - a cheese doria with rice and cheese grilled after eating the scallops. This ending dish is sure to please everyone. The staff are energetic and provide excellent hospitality, making the dining experience enjoyable. Since the Karamori course takes a long time from appetizers to the finale, it would be helpful if they informed customers of the expected duration when ordering. Overall, it was a delightful meal. This is my second visit! Today I ordered a la carte ❤️ Starting with the Koubako crab for 3,000 yen. At first, I was a little surprised by the small size and price, but it was delicious and worth it! It's fun to watch them prepare the food right in front of you. The atmosphere of the restaurant is still amazing. I'm completely satisfied with how delicious everything was today. I'm happy that I can smoke here too. This is a restaurant that I love.

This is my first visit. It's an izakaya where you can enjoy shellfish. The concept itself is interesting, and the food is delicious, making the drinks go down smoothly! The scallops are served with soy sauce and butter, and apparently you can put rice in the leftover sauce to make rice noodles, so I added rice! It was very delicious.

At the crustacean-centered robatayaki restaurant, we were served grilled clams on skewers as a starter. Every dish we tried was delicious and satisfying. The staff were attentive and friendly, cutting the turban shells and scallops for easier eating. The sashimi was also delicious, and after eating shrimp, they served the crispy grilled heads and tails. After eating scallops in shells, they prepared a risotto-style dish with rice or a pasta-style dish with somen noodles. It was incredibly tasty! I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

On the first night of my solo trip to Fukuoka in June, I indulged in a luxurious meal at Kaki no Sankobashi. The main reason for visiting at this time of year was the Agemaki shellfish, which was truly delicious. The snow crab was beautifully presented, almost too beautiful to eat. I really love bivalves ❤️ When winter comes, there will be more seasonal ingredients to enjoy, so I will definitely come back to savor more crustaceans.

I went to a restaurant for dinner that was featured as having a rating of 3.5 or below on Tabelog (a restaurant review website). I ordered the shellfish platter and found that it was not at all a 3.5 or below restaurant. I felt that it was only a matter of time before it would be rated above 3.5. The ingredients were all fresh and delicious. The staff mentioned that they will be introducing new dishes soon, so I plan to visit again to try them out.
