Located in Arashiyama, Kyoto, near the Togetsukyo Bridge over the Katsura River, on the north side of the World Heritage Site Tenryu-ji Temple, is the popular spot in Arashiyama, the Bamboo Grove Path in Saga Arashiyama, is the specialty shop Taisho HANANA. The name of the shop comes from the Kyoto vegetable Hanana, and their famous dish is the Taisho Chazuke, which has been a topic of discussion in the media. On the day I visited, there was a long line, indicating its high popularity. I decided to try the Taisho HANANA's specialty Taisho Chazuke set meal and dessert. The Taisho Chazuke set meal includes red snapper sashimi, Kyoto vegetables, a red snapper dish, rice, homemade pickles, and dessert. The thinly sliced red snapper sashimi is carefully selected from Ehime, Shikoku, and is the freshest and most delicious red snapper of the season. The sashimi has a firm texture and a springy, juicy texture that is delightful. Whether eaten as sashimi, in a bowl, or as chazuke, the red snapper is delicious, especially with the secret sesame sauce that enhances the sweetness with its blend of sesame and various soy sauces. The rice is sourced from contracted farmers and has a unique sweetness and a good chewiness, making it easy to eat in chazuke. The rice is kept fluffy in the "ohitsu" container, which imparts a slight woody aroma to enhance the flavor. The Kyoto vegetables are sourced directly from local farmers in Arashiyama and include a variety of dishes such as simmered seasonal vegetables, Kamo eggplant miso, and simmered taro. The pickles are carefully selected to bring out the natural flavors of the vegetables, and the homemade pickles are a delightful addition to the meal. The dessert consists of black soybean tea and homemade bracken rice cake, with the rich black soybean tea complementing the sweetness of the kinako. The fresh orange juice is sweetened citrus juice made from fresh oranges, and the ice is also made from orange juice, maintaining its richness until the end. The honey green tea uses honey collected only from cherry blossoms in Kyoto, giving it a rich cherry blossom aroma that pairs perfectly with the organic green tea leaves. The Tanba red bean white dumplings use carefully selected Tanba red beans and come with matcha ice cream for a sophisticated sweetness that is perfect for dessert. The take-out exclusive red snapper fish cutlet sandwich is made with fresh red snapper coated in plenty of homemade tartar sauce and sandwiched between slices of bread, with a finishing touch of black pepper. The luxurious packaging is perfect for gifts or souvenirs. The stylish black facade of the shop gives way to a two-story interior with a modern Japanese design, featuring tables and counter seats where you can relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. The view from the window overlooks a stone garden, and the attention to detail, such as Arita porcelain dishes and lacquered trays, adds to the charm of the place. Don't compromise on quality and treat yourself to the exquisite Taisho Chazuke at Taisho HANANA for a delightful dining experience this spring.

I had the Sea Bream Chazuke Set Meal (2,880 yen) at HANANA. I discovered this restaurant about 10 years ago during a trip to Kyoto and have been returning ever since because I love the taste so much. Even though I live in Tokyo, I have come to Kyoto multiple times just to eat HANANA's Sea Bream Chazuke. The sashimi of fresh sea bream with sesame sauce is delicious whether eaten on its own or mixed with rice to make chazuke. The vegetables and pickles from Kyoto are also carefully selected and add to the overall experience. Personally, I love the pickled eggplant for its rich flavor. The rice is perfectly cooked and you can have as many refills as you want. Considering the quality of the food, the price feels reasonable even in this era of high prices. I truly want to keep coming back to this restaurant.

I went to a special restaurant with an older friend a long time ago. Despite waiting in the heat, the tai chazuke was delicious. First, I tried it as sashimi as shown in the example. Mmm, the taste made me moan unintentionally. Then, I poured tea over it, but there was still plenty of rice in the tub. Putting just the sesame sauce on the rice was also delicious. I enjoyed everything from the dessert of warabi mochi to the black soybean tea. Thank you for the feast.

I often use this restaurant when guiding friends in Arashiyama. It's very crowded on weekends around lunchtime, so I usually visit around 2 pm. You can choose grilled fish, but I always hesitate and order sea bream tea-soaked rice. In the end, delicious warabi mochi is included. You can also have seconds of rice, so you can eat deliciously and be full.

I have been going to NANANA for many years, but I refrained from visiting due to the pandemic, so I visited for the first time in 4 years. I knew from reviews that there were many foreign customers, but I was surprised to see that over 90% were foreigners! The taste has not changed, and the sea bream tea-soaked rice is delicious as always, as well as other dishes that are carefully prepared and can be enjoyed wholeheartedly. The pickles in particular were delicious, and I ended up eating more rice just for the pickles. Thank you for the meal.

Near Arashiyama, there are many tempting dining options and places to enjoy food, making it difficult to choose a restaurant. I visited a place to try their sea bream tea rice. The menu only had one option. I started with sea bream sashimi with miso sesame sauce. The sea bream was rich in flavor and went well with wasabi. The simmered dishes, egg tofu, and a variety of pickles were all delicious with a subtle and refined taste. The sea bream was flavorful, balancing well with the rest of the meal and making the white rice very enjoyable. There were refills available for the rice. The pickles were tasty, and the sea bream tea rice was delicious. The portion of sea bream sashimi was generous, and I was very satisfied. Lastly, a sweet treat of bracken rice cake was served with tea, creating a lovely atmosphere. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience.

I visited a shop specializing in sea bream tea rice in Arashiyama, Kyoto. The shop is called Taisho HANANA. It was close to Arashiyama Station. It was a popular shop with a long line in front of it. The turnover was fast and I got my turn quickly. I ordered the Sea Bream Tea Rice Set for 2750 yen. The appearance was colorful and appetizing. The contents were sea bream sashimi, Kyoto vegetables, tofu, pickles, sea bream rice, warabi mochi, and tea. You mix the sea bream sashimi with sesame sauce, put it on rice, pour the broth, and enjoy. The sea bream, sauce, and broth went well together and it was delicious.

Before going to Arashiyama to explore Tenryu-ji Temple and Togetsukyo Bridge, visit this restaurant in Kyoto. Despite the snowfall as forecasted, creating a cold atmosphere, the experience was charming. Reservations are required for groups of four or more, but the wait was tolerable. They only serve sea bream rice set meals, which was our planned order anyway. The quality of the sea bream rice was exceptional, with the deliciousness of the sea bream complemented by the flavorful sesame sauce. Whether eaten as is, poured over rice, or made into ochazuke, every way was delicious. The high quality of the rice was also notable. The prices, while touristy, were reasonable.

It was bustling right in the middle of a tourist spot. I noticed many foreign visitors. Unfortunately, the West Kyoto-style grilled fish set was sold out! So, I ended up ordering the sea bream tea rice set. Kyoto is elegant, so the rice served in the tea bowl was minimal. The sea bream was soaked in sesame sauce and had a rich flavor. The tea rice also had sesame sauce as the main flavor. Both the sea bream and rice were delicious, making me want to enjoy just the light soup broth. The sweet warabi mochi was also very tasty.

The restaurant opened at 11:00, but I arrived at 10:30 and there was already a long line. I thought about going to a different restaurant, but I really wanted to eat here, so I decided to wait! When the restaurant opened, people started entering one after another. As expected, it was full and they stopped letting people in. The staff said, "We will start seating again in 30-40 minutes." Around 11:30, some people finished eating and started leaving. I was able to sit down just before 12:00, perfect for lunchtime. We ordered one of each set meal: Sea Bream Chazuke for ¥2750 and Sea Bream Saikyo-yaki for ¥2860. We also ordered two Alt beers for ¥880 each. The Sea Bream Chazuke had three recommended ways to eat it. The sea bream was fresh and had a nice texture. Personally, I thought it was best to mix it with the sesame sauce and put it on top of the rice. The Sea Bream Saikyo-yaki was incredibly delicious. It was the first time I thought Saikyo-yaki could be this tasty! The rice was so good that we ended up getting seconds. The Kyoto pickles had a refined taste. Everything was delicious! It was worth waiting in line to eat here. During the peak season, you cannot make reservations, so be careful! Thank you for the meal.

I went to Arashiyama. Even though it was past lunchtime, everywhere was crowded with lines, and I was getting hungry. I found a restaurant with only a 3-group wait, so I quickly got in line. The sea bream rice bowl was very delicious. I used to not like sea bream, but the broth it was marinated in, along with shirako (fish milt) and wasabi, made it tasty all the way to the end.

I visited the popular Taisho HANANA, a specialist shop for sea bream tea pickles in Arashiyama, Kyoto! This shop has been in business for 14 years. I tried the Sea Bream Tea Pickle Set Meal (2750 yen) and the Sea Bream Cutlet Sandwich for takeout! The Sea Bream Tea Pickle Set Meal includes sea bream sashimi, Kyoto vegetables, sea bream rice dish, homemade pickles, and a dessert set. It is recommended to eat the sea bream by dipping it in sesame sauce, enjoy it as sashimi, then put it on top of rice to make a tea pickle bowl, and finally pour sesame sauce and green tea over it to eat. The all-you-can-eat rice and the delicious sesame sauce complement the sea bream well, making you want to eat a lot. The orange juice and honey green tea were also delicious. The dessert, warabi mochi, was sticky and went well with black soybean tea, making it enjoyable until the end! Lastly, I also tried the sea bream cutlet sandwich for takeout. Arashiyama's popular spot, the Taisho HANANA, is a specialty shop for sea bream tea pickles located in front of the bamboo forest path in Sagano. Established for 14 years, this popular restaurant offers a luxurious set meal of sea bream tea pickles, including fresh sea bream sashimi, Kyoto vegetables, sea bream rice, homemade pickles, and a sweet treat. It is recommended to enjoy the meal by starting with the sashimi, then turning it into a tea pickled rice bowl, and finally having tea pickles. The sesame sauce complements the sea bream well, making the rice irresistible. You can eat as much rice as you want, and the pickles and vegetables are delicious. The warabi mochi dessert at the end is also delicious. They also offer fresh juices and a popular take-out item, the sea bream fish cutlet sandwich, available only on weekends. It is recommended as a souvenir as well. I enjoyed it while admiring the scenery of Arashiyama, and the sea bream was delicious with the tartar sauce. This is a recommended restaurant in Arashiyama, so making a reservation is recommended when visiting.

This time we ordered Sea Bream Chazuke Set (2750yen), Sea Bream Saikyo-yaki Set (2860yen), Orange Juice (660yen), and Lemonade (660yen). The set meals looked so elegant and I was excited even before eating them. The Sea Bream Chazuke Set included sea bream sashimi, Kyoto vegetables, a sea bream dish, rice, homemade pickles, and a dessert. The thinly sliced sea bream sashimi was beautifully arranged and could be enjoyed as it is or as chazuke. The recommended way to eat it is as follows: eat it as it is, then put it on rice, and finally have it as chazuke. The sea bream sashimi was soaked in plenty of sesame sauce and was versatile enough to be eaten as it is, on rice, or as a topping for chazuke. The rice was served in a traditional wooden rice container and was so delicious that you could have multiple servings. The side dishes included Kyoto vegetables and a luxurious assortment of pickles, which I loved. The dessert was a black soybean tea and a fluffy and chewy warabi mochi coated in soybean flour. The Sea Bream Saikyo-yaki Set looked delicious too, so I would like to try it next time. We also got the limited edition Sea Bream Fish Cutlet Sandwich (1350yen) for takeout, which was rare and intriguing. The sandwich was filled with plenty of tartar sauce and black pepper, making it very hearty and satisfying. It would definitely make a great gift. Overall, my family and I were all very satisfied with our lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere inside was calm, with counter and table seats available. We visited during a holiday lunchtime and there were many people waiting outside. It seems that reservations can only be made by phone, so I recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit on a holiday. The restaurant's address is 26-1 Setogawacho, Saga Tenryuji, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City (5 minutes walk from Saga Arashiyama Station), and their phone number is 075-862-8771. They are open from 11:00 to 17:00 (from around mid-December to mid-March on weekdays from 11:00 to 15:00) and closed on December 30th to January 1st.

This is a lovely shop located in the charming town of Arashiyama. It was mostly female customers when I visited. I ordered the signature dishes, tai chazuke and miso-grilled fish. We started with some drinks and orange juice. The orange juice had orange slices as ice cubes! As we enjoyed our drinks, the dishes were served. They were quite generous in portion. The well-aged sea bream sashimi with sesame sauce was a perfect match. It went really well with the drinks. I wanted to keep eating the sashimi as is, but when I turned it into chazuke, the flavor completely changed and the sesame aroma became even more pronounced. The pickles and cold tofu in between were gentle and Kyoto-like in taste. The miso-grilled fish had such an elegant aroma. Even the children were engrossed in eating it. We finished with warabi mochi and left feeling completely satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal. It was my first time visiting Arashiyama, and I loved everything - from Togetsukyo Bridge to the shrines, temples, Arashiyama Station, Randen tram, souvenir shops, and eateries. I definitely want to visit again.

This set includes sashimi of red sea bream, a dish with sea bream, a side dish of Kyoto vegetables, and pickles. The rice is served in a wooden container and you can have as many refills as you like. You can enjoy the sashimi with wasabi, mix the sea bream dish with sesame sauce and put it on rice, and finish by making ochazuke. The Kyoto vegetable side dish was delicately flavored, allowing the taste of the vegetables to shine through. I had four refills of rice and finished the rice in the container. The warabi mochi dessert was so delicious that it melted in my mouth. The quiet atmosphere and elegant service were perfect. If you visit Arashiyama, be sure to go and eat here.

Today, after visiting the Kurumazaki Shrine, I headed to Arashiyama for a lunch of sea bream tea-soaked rice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, catering to a wide range of customers from couples to elderly patrons. The sea bream tea-soaked rice lunch was refined, starting with sashimi, then dipping it in sesame sauce like a donburi, and finishing with sea bream tea-soaked rice. They brought a box of rice to your table, so you could easily have up to three extra bowls of rice. I even indulged in a local beer, making it a perfect lunch.

I made a reservation and went, but because the time was 3:00, there was only one menu available and I couldn't eat the menu I wanted (இдஇ; ) Maybe it's because of COVID or the time, but it's recommended to go early. The sea bream tea rice bowl had a rich flavor and was very delicious. They said rice is free for refills. The rice in the wooden rice container was very delicious. The pickles were a bit sour for me (--;)

I have been treated to delicious sea bream tea pickles at this restaurant several times in the past. They reopened on January 2nd, so I visited while strolling around Arashiyama after a long time. The secret sauce is still amazing! Delicious! It's always delicious no matter how many times I eat it. The rice that can be refilled was also delicious. I'm full! Thank you very much!

I made a reservation about two weeks ago and when I arrived, there were about 20 people waiting in line, so I'm glad I reserved. I had the recommended Tai Chazuke set meal. It started with Tai sashimi, followed by a marinated rice bowl, and finished with ochazuke. The sesame sauce on the Tai was a great match and very delicious. The warabi mochi had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The tea served was black soybean tea, showing attention to detail. The interior of the restaurant had a traditional Japanese feel, with a view of a small garden from the first floor and private rooms on the second floor. The decor really captured the essence of Kyoto.
