The omakase sushi lunch for 6,000 yen was truly a steal. The sushi included flounder, spear squid, premium fatty tuna from Hokkaido, lean tuna, striped jack, botan shrimp, scallop, surf clam, abalone, salmon roe, sea urchin from Nemuro, eel, and miso soup with seaweed (served at the beginning). Each piece of sushi had a rich and intense flavor profile. The spear squid was creamy and rich. The fatty tuna melted in the mouth like a liquid. The lean tuna was refreshing and left a clean finish. The striped jack had a pleasantly sweet taste that was almost unrecognizable as striped jack (the best of the day). The botan shrimp was firm with a strong shrimp flavor. The scallop and surf clam were sweet with a unique texture that was irresistible. The abalone lacked the usual chewiness and had a subtle sea flavor that paired well with the seaweed. The salmon roe had a satisfying popping texture and a strong salty sweetness. The sea urchin from Nemuro was incredibly creamy. Lastly, the eel, which was the chef's recommendation, had a large area of charred surface, giving it a unique and delightful crispy texture with a fragrant burnt sauce. Despite being a lunch special, the quality of the sushi for the price of 6,000 yen was truly exceptional. Considering the production and restaurant situation upstream and downstream, the chef even mentioned that it might be better to offer the sushi at market price.

Friday at 11:30. I made a reservation a week ago. It's about an 8-minute walk from Otaru Station. The Hiramé, Akai Ika, Akami (Bluefin Tuna), Otoro, Shima Aji, Botan Ebi, Hotate scallops, Hokki clam, Abalone, Ikura, Uni, Anago were all delicious. Especially the Akai Ika, Botan Ebi, Hotate, Hokki clam, Ikura, and the famous Anago were excellent! The owner and his son prepare the sushi, while it seems the wife works behind the scenes. The sushi is delicious, but the hospitality, conversation about the sushi, and overall service were wonderful. I had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant and will definitely visit again when in Otaru. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch. It was very delicious! I was lucky as they had availability when I called on the day! I sat at a table. They served 2-4 volumes at a time. The taste was great, and they provided good timing and explanations of the ingredients, so I felt the added value! I will definitely go again!

There are no complaints. The service, taste, and sake were all perfect. It was truly delicious. I had been wanting to visit for a month and finally made a reservation. Eating sushi and drinking sake while listening to the master's stories at the counter was a moment of bliss. I went to celebrate my father's retirement, and I'm glad we chose this restaurant. The herring sashimi and sea urchin battleship sushi were unbelievably delicious. Thank you very much. Thank you so much.

Rotating sushi is good, but handcrafted sushi has a special taste that you can't experience at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. Hokkaido's Takarasushi in Otaru has the best quality ingredients and sushi chef. I was able to compare and enjoy both sea urchin and purple sea urchin. It was worth going all the way to Otaru just to eat sushi. The chef was very considerate, even to the customers at the tables. #Hokkaido #Otaru #Takarasushi #sushi #sashimi #foodporn #foodstagram #tabelog #top100restaurants #tai #swordtip squid #salted bonito tuna #fatty tuna #striped jack #button shrimp #scallop #surf clam #conch #eel #salmon roe #purple sea urchin #golden cuttlefish #bigfin reef squid #herring roe #purple sea urchin #flounder fin #Japanese whelk

I chose "Takarasushi" in Otaru, Hokkaido. I made a reservation about a month ago and visited for lunch. The omakase course during lunchtime was 6000 yen and included a variety of delicious sushi such as flounder, swordtip squid, tuna, red meat, green onion-topped striped jack, shrimp, scallop, surf clam, surf clam simmered, abalone, salmon roe, Otaru-produced purple sea urchin, and eel. I particularly love eel, and the specialty eel here was amazing. I enjoyed chatting with the master about Hokkaido, fish, and the changing availability of fish due to global warming. Everything was incredibly delicious, and the cost performance was outstanding. I definitely want to visit again and recommend it to my friends! #Top100SushiRestaurants #OtaruGourmet #WantToConnectWithFoodies

I wanted to eat Otaru sushi, so I came for lunch. The lunch course for 6000 yen was a good deal. Although some time has passed and I may forget the taste a bit, the rice was good and the toppings were sweet and delicious. I had a lot of refills. I enjoyed the medium fatty tuna, sea urchin, and crab sushi. It was my first time trying fresh herring, and it had a good amount of fat. I would like to visit again when I come to Otaru. I think we had a total of around 24,000 yen for two people with all the refills. The chef was very friendly. It was a pleasant experience. Thank you for the meal.

The friendly chef served sushi while chatting, and the time passed quickly. Everything was delicious, but personally I liked the shrimp the most. The prices were reasonable, and I would definitely want to come back to this restaurant. Sushi in Otaru is delicious!

The evening course costs 18,000 yen and is only available at the counter seats, with drinks charged separately. There are many delicious dishes, but they do not provide alternative options for people with allergies like oysters. The salted Kesennuma bluefin tuna red meat and chu-toro seemed frozen and not as tender as expected. Local Miyagi Prefecture bluefin tuna is still the best. Uni (sea urchin) has the most amazing taste. The dish with uni and hairy crab jelly was incredibly delicious. The shrimp nigiri and grilled eel skewer were also tasty. Overall, the other dishes were decent. The recommended items are the herring sashimi and the specialty eel nigiri.

I visited the restaurant on the night of June 13, 2023. I was surprised by the deliciousness and thickness of the asparagus and shrimp dishes, and enjoyed every dish from the beginning to the end, including the sushi. The raw herring sashimi and the raw scallop sushi, which I forgot to take a photo of because I ate it right away, were particularly delicious, with plenty of Hokkaido specialties. The sushi was all seasoned, so I didn't need to use the soy sauce and small dishes that were placed on the table until the end. The family-run restaurant was small and cozy, with only three groups at the counter that night. Everyone's conversation was enjoyable and seemed like part of the dining experience. My only regret was that they had run out of draft beer during lunch service, so I could only have one glass and had to switch to bottled beer, which made me feel full and unable to enjoy more than one glass of sake. I will definitely visit again when I come to Otaru.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday at 1:00 PM. We had made a reservation for 4 people about a week in advance, and there were still available slots. The restaurant was full when we arrived, with 2 tables for 4 people each in addition to the counter seats. The only lunch option available was a 6,000 yen course. Payment was cash only. The sushi was served one piece at a time at the table, totaling about 12 pieces. The most memorable items were the conger eel, tuna, scallop, scallop shell, and sea urchin. I'm not a big fan of shellfish, but even those were delicious without any fishy taste. The shrimp was a bit too strong in flavor for my liking. We finished in about 30 minutes and left around 1:40 PM. The parking lot had space for only 3 cars, so it fills up quickly. You may need to use nearby parking lots.

On the first day of my trip to Hokkaido, I visited Otaru for lunch. They only offered set courses, but I was satisfied. You can also request your favorite sushi at the end. It doesn't feel expensive during lunchtime, so I recommend it. It's quite a walk from the station, but I wanted to enjoy it with beer, so I walked there.

I used this sushi restaurant during my trip to Hokkaido. Honestly, I went to Otaru just to visit this sushi restaurant, and it was definitely worth it. Every piece of sushi was delicious. I was treated to several pieces by a senior executive from a certain company who was sitting next to me. I want to take this opportunity to thank them. I would love to visit again.

I visited this restaurant based on reviews and it was my first time there. I am from Otaru but I didn't know about this place when I lived there. The parking lot is small, about 3 cars can fit next to the store. It's a bit hard to find for those who are not locals. Reservation is a must, and even though I arrived 10 minutes before opening, I was promptly seated. The interior is clean and cozy, and the chef was very efficient. You can feel the popularity as soon as you walk in. The sushi course started right away. This was my first time ordering a course at a sushi restaurant. I was excited to see what would come out, and the first dish was horse mackerel. It was refreshing yet rich, with a delicious fattiness that spread in my mouth. The rice was perfectly chewy and melted instantly, so it was a perfect 10 from the first dish. Then came the squid! I love squid and this was unbelievably delicious. The texture, sweetness, it was a taste I hadn't had in a while and it was amazing. Next was tuna from Shibayama and major league tuna, one after another. I was knocked out from the very beginning. Every piece of sushi was top quality. The button shrimp was skillfully prepared by the young chef, removing the eggs and miso and handing it to me. It was a storm of emotions. I felt like I could eat this forever, but my wallet had its limits. After the famous conger eel, which was fluffy and delicious, I ordered live needlefish, whisker conger, squid, and peony shrimp to finish. The chef was friendly and loved to chat, so it was a very satisfying lunchtime. Otaru still has a lot to offer. I want to come back to try the summer grape shrimp.

This sushi restaurant offers the best value for money at 7000 yen for lunch. The chef talks about the history of his hometown, Otaru, and Sapporo, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The price even includes bottled beer, which surprises everyone. I definitely want to go back. It's located in the suburbs, so it's a bit far to walk, but it's definitely worth visiting.

I made a reservation in advance and visited this restaurant. It's a popular place with 100 seats. The large table seats were all full when I arrived. I enjoyed a delicious sushi course with white wine called GYOTAKU. The dishes came out at a slightly fast pace, but each dish was carefully prepared and brought out the deliciousness of the ingredients. One dish that stood out was the luxurious Uni rice topped with Nodoguro. I also got to enjoy Nori Sole, which I don't usually have. The "full stomach course" and the "deliciousness of the ingredients" made it a happy dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

I found the best restaurant in Otaru during my long-awaited trip to Hokkaido. It was a big hit! I had a lunch set of 12 pieces of sushi for 6,000 yen. It was so cheap that I didn't have high expectations, but it was incredibly delicious. The medium fatty tuna, conger eel, and Hokkaido whitebait were excellent! I also had additional blackthroat seaperch, which was also amazing! The sushi was served quickly, so it didn't take more than an hour. It was my first time experiencing this style, and it was great because I could spend time on other activities during my trip. The chef was also very kind, and I could tell that he is loved by the locals. I wish there was a restaurant like this near my home. It was the best lunch. Thank you for the meal! ♡

It is located about a 10-minute walk from Otaru Station. They serve sushi and you can have two rounds during lunch, so please place additional orders within an hour. There were both counter and table seating, and about half of the customers were foreigners. I ordered a set of sushi and a few additional items. The set alone costs 7,000 yen, so I ate with a standing sushi bar feel. The dishes included flounder, spear squid, salted kelp, fatty tuna, horse mackerel, botan shrimp, scallop, abalone, salmon roe, sea urchin from Nemuro, conger eel, and more. Overall, it's not bad for enjoying sushi in a casual and affordable way.

Having sushi in Otaru! When you come to Otaru, you have to have sushi, right? My inner gourmet is excited... Today, we made a reservation at Takara Sushi and had sushi. The whole family had the chef's choice nigiri. Every piece of sushi was delicious without any complaints. The anago (conger eel) that the restaurant boasts about was especially amazing. The sushi was so good that I felt like giving a standing ovation. Honestly, we were about 60% full by the end, but the satisfaction level was incredibly high. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

A family-run sushi restaurant that represents Otaru. I have visited many sushi restaurants in Hokkaido, but this place was by far the best in terms of deliciousness. Not only the sushi, but also the side dishes were all delicious. They also have a wide selection of alcohol, recommending local sake and sake from all over Japan to pair with the dishes. I will definitely come back again.

A group of 4 friends, one from Hokkaido and three from Tokyo, enjoyed sushi in Otaru. It was the best tasting sushi they had in Otaru. Despite the high cost of around 15,000 yen per person with many additional orders, they were satisfied because it was delicious.
