I always used to eat in Kichijoji without much challenge, just settling for something simple, but once in a while, I decided to try something new and found this restaurant. I went in a little before lunchtime, and it wasn't crowded, so I was seated right away. I sat at the counter, and the atmosphere inside was calm and cute. There were about a dozen items on the menu, and after much deliberation, I decided to try the chicken with sansho pepper. I started with the small side dishes and really enjoyed the three dishes on the top right plate, which were all spiced up - one with wood ear mushrooms and cumin seeds, and another with spicy burdock, I think. I couldn't have the homemade tofu due to allergies, but it looked really rich and delicious. I took my time with the side dishes, and by the time I got to the chicken, it had cooled a bit. However, it was surprisingly crispy and delicious until the last bite. It had a good amount of sansho pepper, so my mouth tingled a bit towards the end, but I actually liked that. It was a luxurious lunch with all the side dishes and free extra rice for ¥1,650, which I thought was just right. They also serve coffee, so I'd like to go back next time to try their drinks. Thank you for the meal!

I was walking by with a friend, discussing what to have for lunch, when we decided to enter this restaurant on a whim. It was around 1:00 PM and luckily it was full. I ordered the Fish Sambal Mata. First, small dishes were served, followed by the main dish with rice and soup. Each small dish had a small portion, but they were all delicious and offered a variety of flavors. The main dish, Sambal Mata, had a spicy sauce that complemented the fried fish well, making it easy to enjoy with rice. After finishing the meal, I surprisingly felt quite full and satisfied. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat something good for my hungry stomach, so I visited this place again. This time, I tried the Ginger Pork, which has a thick sauce. The pork is thinly coated with batter and the sauce is well coated. All the side dishes were good, but one thing that made me feel a bit uncertain was the Curry Powder mixed with Dried Radish. It was delicious, but I couldn't help but think that a more Japanese-style flavor would suit the dried radish better. Other than that, everything was to my liking. After finishing the lettuce, I noticed a plate with a funny design that made me laugh. I took a picture as a keepsake. I will visit again.

I visited on a rainy Saturday in May after finishing my errands feeling hungry. I sat at the counter and was grateful for the blanket on a slightly cold day. There were many small dishes with various types, perfect for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything. The flavors ranged from light to rich, keeping me interested until the end. With a wide variety of options, I will definitely visit again.

While taking a stroll in Kichijoji, I came across a charming restaurant called "Nikkori" that caught my eye. Let's go in and try their set meal. Each dish is carefully prepared with attention to detail, evident in the miso soup, tofu, and lettuce dressing, all boasting a harmonious Japanese flavor. The use of both modern and traditional dishes adds to the charm of the place. The interior is also meticulously designed, with even the clock having an antique look but actually being a solar-powered clock with an aging effect. The floor is made of Namiki wood and even has seaglass embedded in it. The owner, who used to cook in Sydney for 7 years, shared their story with me, explaining how they downsized from running three other shops to this cozy spot. The place exudes a sense of care and dedication, making it a delightful experience. In November 2020, a new cafe-gallery called "Pololi & Pihakopi" opened in the former location of the beloved Hammock Cafe "Mahikamano." Pololi means "hungry" in Hawaiian, while Pihakopi translates to "coffee" in Indonesian. The stylish space, delicious food served in beautiful dishes, and inviting atmosphere make it a place worth revisiting. Let's come back again soon!

It's quite difficult to find a good lunch spot in Kichijoji (because the popular ones always have long lines!), but I was lucky to get the last seat at this place I was interested in. I chose the red fish grilled in foil from the various main dish options. They brought out a variety of small side dishes first. Some were like appetizers and all of them were delicious, so I enjoyed trying each one. Then came the main dish, rice, and miso soup. The miso soup broth was delicious! The meal was well-balanced and I was happy to have found such a good restaurant after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

I had bookmarked this restaurant for a while, and finally decided to visit. I heard that they offer a set meal with many small side dishes, so I was curious to try it out. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, with a few counter seats and a couple of tables. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter. From the lunch menu, I chose the chicken steak with an ethnic sauce called Sambal Mata. I was not sure what Sambal Mata was, but I wanted to try something unique to this place. The sauce had a spicy and ethnic flavor with a hint of lemongrass, which paired well with the juicy chicken. The meal came with a variety of small side dishes that were colorful and appetizing. Everything went well with the rice, which was delicious on its own. It felt like a professional set meal rather than a typical home-cooked meal. The presentation was lovely, and I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. The price may seem a bit high at 1500 yen including tax, but I found it worth it. The atmosphere of the restaurant was stylish yet natural, and I felt comfortable in the serene environment. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I can eat such a gorgeous set meal in Kichijoji! The overwhelming variety and volume of Japanese set meals that seem only available in a cafe with an old folk house style. I ate well and was able to walk around Kichijoji energetically. There were main dishes ranging from classic ones to slightly ethnic variations, making it fun to choose.

I went to the restaurant on Saturday at 12 o'clock. I had made a reservation in advance, but no one answered the phone when I called, so I had to call twice. The interior of the restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with a counter and table seats. The set meal had options to choose the main dish. There were about 5 choices, and I ended up choosing the fried chicken. When I tried to order, I called out to a male staff member, but he didn't come over, so I thought, "Huh? Aren't you going to take our order here?" It felt like I had to order from afar, and when I asked about the sauce options for the fried chicken (Sichuan pepper or cilantro sauce), the staff's response was vague. I chose the cilantro sauce since I like cilantro, but I was a bit disappointed with the service. The female staff was friendly, but it would have been better if there were more variety in the side dishes. The lack of explanation made it hard to know what each dish was. The brown gelatin-like dessert was delicious, even though I wasn't sure what it was. The fried chicken was hot and crispy, but it lacked seasoning, so the cilantro sauce was necessary for flavor. The sauce was tasty with a hint of garlic, but there was not enough of it. It would have been better if they provided a larger portion of the sauce in a separate dish. The portion of fried chicken was generous, with 4 large pieces, so it was quite filling. Overall, the flavors were a bit strong, so I felt that a lighter taste would have been better for Japanese cuisine.

The atmosphere of the shop is like a calm cafe, but the lunch set came out with lots of dishes at first... it looked amazing!! And not only did it look great... but each dish had its own unique taste and was delicious. The appearance may look like typical side dishes, but the tofu with sesame oil... and the hijiki with a curry flavor? I'm not sure, but it was delicious!!! The side dishes were so good that I ended up eating a whole bowl of rice without even touching the main dish. It's hard to make this many side dishes at home... Now, for the main dish, I had the sansho pepper fried chicken and my mother had... I can't remember, but it was an Indonesian sauce chicken sauté... It's hard to describe, but it was delicious!! The sauce had a taste I've never had before, but it was delicious. The fried chicken had a crispy coating and the chicken was tender, but also light and refreshing. Maybe it was because of the spiciness of the sansho pepper? I was satisfied with both the taste and the portion size! I didn't order any drinks, so I apologize for the 3-star rating. I will definitely go back again♪♪

The cafe lunch was delicious, with the highlight being the crispy fried chicken sprinkled with sansho pepper salt. Each dish was tasty, including the miso-marinated cheese, tuna, sweet potato, flavorful potato salad, and half an egg with sesame tofu sauce and thickly grated bonito flakes. It was so good that I wanted to go back for seconds!

Lunch on December 13, 2020 (Sunday) with my partner. We went to a recently opened restaurant on the site of the former Hammock Cafe. The lunch set was 1350 yen plus tax, where you could choose a main dish accompanied by 7-8 small side dishes. There were 6 main dish options, and without much thought, I chose the Ginger Pork and Foil-Baked Cod from the top of the list. The background music started with Cuban Son, sung by Fan de Marcos. We enjoyed listening to it, but eventually, it switched to jazz arrangements of Christmas songs. We are currently unable to listen to records like Dexter Gordon or Ramsey Lewis at home due to our audio set being broken, making this Christmas season feel a bit lonely. The meal started with 9 small side dishes lined up on a tray. Then, the main dishes, white rice, and miso soup arrived. The Foil-Baked Cod had a buttery flavor, with the taste of mushrooms coming through nicely. It was quite delicious. The Ginger Pork, on the other hand, was made of thick pork slices with a light coating, topped with ginger sauce. Unfortunately, the pork was a bit tough. Despite that, the abundance of small side dishes made the lunch feel very satisfying and worth the price.

I love the set meal with lots of small bowls, mountain pepper fried chicken with a spicy seasoning. It's my favorite~ Recommended lunch spot in Kichijoji.

I like restaurants where you get a lot of food in small dishes, so I visited this place. Almost all the dishes had a strong salty taste, which was a first for me and it surprised me. After eating, there was so much salt around my mouth. I have been to many restaurants in Kichijoji, but this was the one that suited my taste the least. The interior of the restaurant was cold and they didn't even serve warm tea. The attitude of the staff was also poor, which made me sad.
