When I think about it, I realize that I haven't encountered a delicious yakitori restaurant in Kyoto yet. On this day, it has been a long time since I encountered such delicious yakitori. It might be since the yakitori made by the head chef at Omino in Kinyamachi, Tokyo. Cooking delicious yakitori requires skill and experience, but I think the key element to reaching this level is a sense of taste. This is not the kind of yakitori you can find anywhere. The outside has a crispy texture, while the inside retains moisture, making it very juicy and full of chicken flavor. The aroma of charcoal is pleasant. I like this type of grilling method. The yakitori is interesting with different cuts or similar cuts skewered on the same stick. You can taste two different flavors in one stick. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is stylish and modern. It must be chic. The pleasant aroma of charcoal fills the air, and the crackling sound of the charcoal grilling is soothing. The appetizers mainly consist of Western-style vegetables, sandwiched between skewers. They are delicious, but not particularly captivating in taste. However, I find the creativity intriguing. Since it's a modern atmosphere with dishes using Western ingredients, it seems like many people prefer to drink wine. I personally enjoyed the freshly squeezed lime sour. The Yamaneko soda mix is also delicious. I enjoyed the restaurant's attention to detail, such as the cute plate designs. [Order] Course menu (6000 yen) - 7 skewers, 4 side dishes, 1 main dish, ramen as a closer, additional orders: - Red radish and chicken breast - Light and good as an appetizer. - Norabona and smoked chicken breast shavings - Pleasant smoky aroma. The shavings don't have much flavor, so it's a salad with Norabona. - Seseri - Oh, delicious! The grilling is perfect. You can really taste the chicken flavor. - Nagoya Cochin (thigh and calf) - A bit chewy skewer. But rich and bursting with flavor. Amazing! It may feel heavy towards the end, but it's delicious at the beginning. - [Additional order] Miso-marinated egg yolk - A rich and flavorful miso-flavored egg yolk. - Skin - Crispy texture and piping hot. The fat is delicious. - New onion and carrot - The black carrot is not burnt. It's actually a carrot. - [Additional order] Smoked gakko with blue cheese - Crispy pickled daikon with blue cheese. Good as a side dish. - Maru heart (with a heart in between) - Rare cuts of heart and maru. Delicious! Especially the heart is tender, soaked in sauce, with a pleasant charcoal aroma. - Yagen cartilage - Crunchy. Simply delicious. - Segimono balsamic vinegar stew - Tastes like chicken simmered in balsamic vinegar. Delicious. - Duck loin - Tender and delicious! A steak full of duck flavor. - Minami Kaidori chicken breast - Delicious but slightly dry. - Tsukune - Delicious when dipped in egg. It would be perfect with cartilage added. Still very tasty. - [Additional order] Nagoya Cochin bonjiri and sori - I wanted to eat bonjiri, so I ordered it. In this restaurant, sori tastes better than bonjiri. - Aomori Jidori rock steak - Not exactly like a steak, but undeniably delicious. - [Additional order] Chochin - A rare cut that you have to request, and it might be too late if you don't ask early. Luckily, I asked and ordered it. It was a rich, tender, juicy, and flavorful cut with sauce and fat that made it exquisite. - Chicken ramen - Noodles in a rich chicken broth. Extremely simple, but that's what makes it great. Around 20,000 yen for two people. The price is very reasonable for the satisfying content. We ordered a lot of drinks, added more dishes, and left with full stomachs. I can see why it was chosen as one of the top 100 restaurants. I had incredibly delicious yakitori. I'm glad I came! Finally, if you have a specific cut you want to try first, it's a good idea to request it. Definitely a yakitori restaurant I will visit again.
