I visited the shop on a regular night. The smallest size was sold out, so I ended up buying the next size up. The staff mentioned that they can hold items if you call ahead. This Baumkuchen is different from the ones in Japan. It feels a bit tough when you cut into it with a fork, and the sweetness isn't too strong, but it has a deep flavor. It's something you chew on and enjoy. The rings aren't perfectly even, so I think it's probably made by hand. I have a favorite shop in Germany, not this one, but the texture and flavor are similar, so I'm happy I can have German Baumkuchen in Japan!

In 2018 and 2020, it was selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in Tokyo, and also listed in the top 5000. I fell in love with Margaretenkuchen at first sight. I decided to visit and try it out. I visited around 7:30 PM on a Sunday, close to closing time, so there were no other customers. The regular Baumkuchen also looked delicious. This time, I resisted and ordered the Margareten. The Margaretenkuchen cost 2,200 yen (including tax). When I got home, I shared it with my family. "A cake coated with apricot jam and decorated with marzipan flowers. Some say it is named after a princess from medieval Tuscany, with beautiful flower shapes." The outer syrup was sweet, but when eaten with the inner dough, it balanced out to just the right amount of sweetness. It was delicious, but I wished the dough was a bit more moist. I'm glad I got to try the Baumkuchen that I was curious about. Next time, I'll try the regular Baumkuchen. Thank you for the meal.

Saturday overtime work. I left my husband in charge of taking care of the children, so I went to Isetan on Saturday to find a thank-you gift. Yes, on Saturday evenings, Isetan is always crowded with people. I knew that, but I thought that if I came here, I would find something delicious with relatively short lines. I chose the smallest Baumkuchen and chocolate-coated cut type. The sweets came from Northern Germany, and when you think of Northern Germany, you think of Grimm's Fairy Tales. The design on the box does look like something from a Grimm's Fairy Tale... As I opened it, a beautiful Baumkuchen appeared. Wasn't Baumkuchen supposed to be an image of a tree? I see, like getting lost in the forest in a Grimm's Fairy Tale. The taste was delicious enough, but I prefer a moist Baumkuchen, so my expectations may have been a bit lower. It's a classic and traditional taste. The chocolate-coated Baumkuchen is said to have apricot jam sandwiched between the layers, but the chocolate flavor overshadowed the apricot taste. Still, thank you for the lovely moment where I could easily enjoy the traditional taste of Northern Germany in Japan. German sweets, I'm a bit curious because they were depicted in a certain manga. If I have the chance, I would like to try various things. Thank you for the meal.

A Baumkuchen specialty store located on the basement floor of Shinjuku Isetan, with its headquarters in Hanover, Germany. I was looking for something to give as a gift to someone in Kansai, and since there are only 7 stores in Japan and no stores in Kansai, I decided on this gift set. I also bought a Baumkuchen for myself. In the evening, the smallest size (¥1,296) was sold out so I bought a slightly larger size (¥2,592). They are made with no additives, no baking powder, and only butter as the fat, following strict standards. The wrapping paper with the logo of a woman and the store name is cute. When you open the box, it is wrapped in a thick plastic bag. The taste is simple and traditional, with no fancy variations. The gentle yellow color of the eggs and the thin sugar coating give a subtle sweetness that spreads as you chew, with an elegant flavor. When sliced thinly like shaving the surface, it has a more refined, fluffy taste. When cut vertically, it has a satisfying texture and the sweetness is more pronounced, which I personally preferred. It can be enjoyed as a light dessert after a meal. The staff's service was polite and easy to understand. I found a place where I can use it for gifts or souvenirs.

I love it! It's delicious. It's a Baumkuchen that meets the standards of Germany. It's not too fluffy, but has a nice moistness and just the right amount of sweetness. It goes really well with coffee and doesn't feel heavy even after a meal (depending on how much you eat). It's a perfect dessert as a treat. You can find it at Isetan Shinjuku and Mitsukoshi Ginza in Tokyo.

Baumkuchen is not too sweet and moist. It's just delicious. The Baum Schpitz apricot flavor is not very strong, but the chocolate is rich and tasty. It's not as crowded as I expected, and they also offer reservation sales, which is convenient. They only make small-sized Baumkuchen in the store, with a shelf life of only until the next day. So, I bought the one size larger. The service is good.

As expected, the Baumkuchen has a dense and moist texture with a balanced level of sweetness, making it easy to eat. It has a simple yet classic flavor that is satisfying. It is perfect as a gift or treat. You can also enjoy it with liqueur, jam, or whipped cream for added variety.

The popular Baumkuchen shop offers three sizes, with only the smallest size available until the next day. The other sizes can last for about two weeks. I opted for the smallest size, which was surprisingly reasonably priced at just over 1000 yen. However, I found that the middle part was quite large and hollowed out, so the actual amount of cake was a bit less. Since it was only available until the next day, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish it, but it turned out to be just enough. The outer layer is coated with sugar, and the cake itself is slightly dense, not fluffy. It was delicious, but personally, I prefer the Club Harie Baumkuchen from Shiga Prefecture, which can also be purchased at Yokohama Takashimaya.

I stopped by for the first time as I had been curious for a while. I was looking for a gift for an acquaintance, and since I love Baumkuchen, I decided on this place. There were products that have been featured on TV as well, so I was torn, but this time I went for a small Baumkuchen made in the store, rather than the pound cake type. The larger ones last a bit longer, but the ones made in the store have a consumption period until the next day. It seems good to choose depending on the occasion! The pound cake types also looked delicious, so I would like to buy them again if I have the chance.

The name is quite difficult, isn't it? I bought this for both gifting and for myself. I was torn between getting a flower-shaped Baumkuchen and this one, but I chose this because you don't need a knife to cut it, which is super convenient, and it looks pretty stylish on its own. The white chocolate coating is quite thick, and when you poke it with a fork, the chocolate crumbles a lot. The inside Baumkuchen is fluffy and soft, with a strawberry or raspberry sauce in between as a nice touch. It's delicious, but personally, I found it a bit too sweet. Eating a whole box in one go might be quite challenging.

A friend was coming to play in Tokyo, so I quickly gathered everyone together. I decided to bring a souvenir, so I stopped by here. It was my first time, so I also bought one for myself. It may not look like much, but the Baumkuchen was fluffy and had a gentle sweetness that was really good. I like Baumkuchen, but often they are either too dense or too dry. Some can be crumbly, while others are too moist. This Baumkuchen was just right - soft, moist, and fluffy. I enjoyed it very much!

I visited Holledische Kakao Stube, a famous shop in the basement of Isetan in Shinjuku, known for its Baumkuchen, a traditional German sweet. The shop is said to adhere to the traditional way of making Baumkuchen in Germany, using butter for fat and not using baking powder, as specified by the country's authorities. The appearance of the Baumkuchen was exactly as expected, with a thin coating of sugar around it. It required quite a bit of force to cut into it with a fork due to its firm texture, which indicated a high density of the dough. The moist dough was subtly sweet and had a somewhat rich taste that gradually spread in the mouth. Eating the sugar-coated part added an extra layer of flavor on top of the base, enhancing its deliciousness. The buttery aroma was also fragrant, making it a sophisticated and universally appealing sweet treat.

When I went to a friend's house, I wanted to bring a gift, so I went to a Western confectionery shop on the first floor of Shinjuku Isetan. When I saw it online, I was really impressed by how cute it was, and in reality, it is truly adorable. I bought a Margaretenkuchen for 2378 yen and a paper bag for 20 yen. It's a flower-shaped cake with marzipan and apricot jam. It's not too sweet and very delicious. Since it's part of the Yuheim group, you can't go wrong with the taste. I recommend using it as a gift.

I went to Komagome to see an acquaintance's performance... stopped by Shinjuku Isetan to buy a gift before the show starts, and wandered around Asukayama Park... My wife was born in Komagome and lived there until she was in upper elementary school... We had visited her roots together a long time ago, but I had never been to Asukayama Park, so we decided to go there... This is the site of the former residence of Eiichi Shibusawa, featured in a recent historical drama. My wife seemed nostalgic as she gazed at the slide here where she used to play as a child. Oh, I found it on Tabelog... I bought Échiré butter sablés as a gift... and for ourselves, we purchased Baumspitz from Holländische Kakao Stube. Baumspitz is a bite-sized Baumkuchen with apricot jam sandwiched between layers of Baumkuchen and coated with sweet chocolate! My father-in-law used to buy Baumkuchen for my wife whenever he went on a long business trip, so Baumkuchen holds special memories for her. When you eat it chilled, it tastes really delicious!

- Visit time: I went on a Saturday before 10:05 to buy Margaretenkuchen, but when I visited on a holiday night at 6:00 PM, it was sold out and I couldn't buy it...! I tried again in the morning! It seems that they get new stock every morning, but recently they have been short on eggs, so they haven't been able to produce as much. The quantity can vary greatly depending on the day. When I went in the morning, there were about 10 of them lined up at the store! - Menu: Margaretenkuchen It had a fluffy texture similar to pound cake. I was surprised at first because I imagined it would be moist, but it had a gentle and simple taste that was delicious! The marzipan on top was also pleasantly sweet. Although it is a traditional German bakery, it seems that in Japan, Yuhaimu uses their recipe as a reference for production.

In the afternoon, some items were already sold out when I went. Classic Baum: A crispy baum covered in chocolate coating. The crispy chocolate balances well with the fluffy and gentle baum. The bitter chocolate complements the baum nicely, and the simplicity makes you want to keep eating. Be careful not to overeat because it's so delicious. I would like to come back to this shop occasionally to try different baums.

Simple yet profound, this place has a reputation for it. Located in the depachika of Isetan, I once went there only to find out that their Baumkuchen was sold out! It was a disappointing experience, so I avoided the shop for a while. This time, I had another errand to run and ended up shopping there. As I passed by the shop, I was informed that they had small Baumkuchen available, so I quickly made a purchase. In fact, this shop has many other delicious items as well. To resist the temptation, I decided to start with a small Baumkuchen. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the other shops on the street were extremely crowded, but this shop had a calm atmosphere. Customers were coming and going, but it was not overwhelmingly busy, allowing for a relaxed shopping experience. The staff were also polite and provided detailed information, including the expiration date of the small Baumkuchen I purchased, which was the next day. Nevertheless, I was glad I could make the purchase.

I purchased the normal and chocolate coated Baumkuchen. I have tried Baumkuchen from famous shops like "Yuhaim," "Nenrinka," "Jiichiro," and "Madam Sinco," but my personal ranking is Madam Sinco >>>> Holländisch=Yuhaim > Nenrinka/Jiichiro. It seems that Holländisch is actually manufactured by Yuhaim. Madam Sinco may be delicious because of the caramelization rather than the cake itself, so I would like to try the flower-shaped syrup-soaked Baumkuchen from Holländisch as well.

Happy New Year! I hope this year will be filled with happiness as delicious as this festive cake for everyone ☆彡 I plan to continue hopping around and enjoying drinks this year as well ♪(*´˘`*)♡ hehe. Thank you in advance for your continued support. During the year-end, I had the opportunity to see my busy brother for the first time in 3 years, so I stopped by to buy a souvenir at "Hollandische Kakao Stube Shinjuku Isetan Store" located in the basement 1st floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku Store. This shop is known for its traditional German confectionery Baumkuchen, which has been passed down through generations in Hanover, Germany for about 100 years. It has won the Sweets Top 100 award in 2018 and 2020, and has received high praise from MyReby members. I used to share Baumkuchen with my brother as a substitute for breakfast during our university days. Back then, when money was tight... I remember splitting a Baumkuchen in half for a quick calorie boost before payday when we were short on cash. My brother, who loves Baumkuchen, would surely be delighted! So, I decided to get a large Baumkuchen as a souvenir for him. The original Kakao Stube Baumkuchen, baked according to German quality standards, is surprisingly heavy and dense. I'm sure my brother, who loves Baumkuchen, will be thrilled! I also bought a cute flower-shaped cake for our home. It's called "Margaretenkuchen" and is a butter cake with marzipan shaped like a marguerite flower. It's wrapped in a lovely blue ribbon, making it a perfect gift. When I opened it at home, it looked just like the sample! "Wow, it's so cute! I can't eat something this cute!" After the obligatory line, I cut it along the petals with a knife. The moist cake is not too sweet and has a delicious taste. The apricot jam coating and rich vanilla add an elegant flavor. It goes well with strong black tea or black coffee. It would make a great gift and is highly recommended. The flower cake... it's a must-try! ♡
