In Karuizawa, there was a long line at Kawakami-an. Although I was curious, I had given up on entering and decided to go to a shop in Tokyo instead. When I visited around 11:30, the restaurant was almost full, but I managed to get a seat. I had decided to try the walnut sauce soba when coming to Kawakami-an, so I ordered Course 2 which includes walnut sauce soba. It also came with appetizers, vegetable tempura, and dessert for around 1800 yen, which was a great deal. The appetizers included a salad-like dish with leafy vegetables, tofu dengaku, and simmered daikon radish. The simmered daikon radish was especially delicious. The sweet potato tempura was sweet, soft, and almost like a dessert. The eggplant and shiitake tempura were crispy and I love tempura at soba restaurants. The highlight was the walnut sauce soba. The soba had a noticeable texture and wasn't exactly to my liking, but I was satisfied with the walnut sauce. It was creamy when mixed with soba water. The almond jelly dessert was also creamy, similar to blancmange. It was a very satisfying lunch.

This is a standalone house restaurant located a 4-5 minute walk from Omotesando Station A4 exit. The exterior and interior have a calm and stylish atmosphere typical of Omotesando. The seating is spacious and there were even people with babies. The menu seems to have a good selection of appetizers, making it suitable for use as an izakaya with soba as the finishing touch in the evening. Today, I tried the recommended walnut sesame soba from my junior at work. The soba has a chewy texture that goes well with the rich dipping sauce. While some may not enjoy slurping the soba quickly with just a little sauce to savor the flavor, for those of us accustomed to enjoying dishes like tsukemen with plenty of sauce, it was really delicious. The option to add an extra serving of soba for 500 yen is appreciated during lunch. If you end up eating two servings, you'll be stuffed.

This is my family's first visit. I have been to the Azabu-Juban branch a few times for drinks, while the Aoyama branch was for a hearty meal. We ordered a sashimi platter, tamagoyaki, karaage, salad, and grilled chicken. For the finale, we had tempura soba and walnut miso soba. I prefer the cold soba here. The dishes were well-seasoned and we will definitely visit again.

Second visit, this time with my female friends! Surprisingly, we were seated on the 3rd floor (I thought there were only two floors). We ordered a few dishes, about 5 drinks each, and shared a walnut sauce soba. It came out to about 9000 yen per person. I tried a soba tea highball for the first time and it was delicious, so I want to have it again next time. It was a bit pricey this time, so I rated it 3.8!

It's nice to sit outside because you can feel comfortable with your child. If the inside is not crowded, you can bring a stroller. The walnut soba was delicious, and I also tried the duck. They provide water for children and are very kind. Even during lunchtime on weekdays, there may be a line, so timing is important.

I used it for lunch. I arrived just in time about 15 minutes after opening without a reservation. It's a popular restaurant so it's not easy to get in for lunch without a reservation. Even though it's lunch, you can order delicious sake with your meal, which is a great thing about this place. The food is great, and they also offer individual dishes in addition to the lunch course. The delicious sake and food always satisfy me whenever I go. It's just a shame that it's such a popular restaurant and reservations are a must. I used to be able to get in easily in the past.

I visited this restaurant for the first time in search of an early dinner. It was around 5:00 PM, and I was feeling a little hungry but wanted something light, so I decided to go for soba noodles. I ordered the Duck Soba for 2,090 yen. The soba noodles here are on the thicker side, and while I usually prefer thinner noodles, these were still enjoyable. I think the "Walnut Sauce Soba" might have been a better choice with these thicker noodles.

I visited around 12 o'clock on a regular day. I ordered the walnut dipping soba that I had been wanting to try for a while. The walnut dipping sauce was even more delicious than I imagined, and both the soba noodles and the sauce were excellent. I think I'm hooked. I don't have many opportunities to eat this, and it seems like there is a course with tempura included, so I would like to go try that next time.

I haven't been there in so long that I can't remember the last time I went. The soba noodles are delicious as always. The side dishes are great too! I took some foreign guests there and they were thrilled (*^◯^*) However, I was surprised when a plastic propeller fell from the ceiling, possibly for circulating the air conditioning, and hit me on the back of the head. Despite that, thank you for the meal.

I visited "Aoyama Kawakami-an" in Minami-Aoyama. It is located a 5-minute walk from Omotesando Station, on a small street between a Porsche dealership and Miyota, just a little past Shimizu-yu. The main store is in Karuizawa, and it is a popular spot with long lines on weekends for both lunch and dinner. One of their specialties is the "Tenseiro" soba. The soba noodles are thin yet have a chewy texture similar to country-style soba. The dipping sauce is rich and sharp. It comes with vegetables and a large prawn tempura. The prawn is juicy and the miso flavor is delicious. The larger size option comes with two prawns. They serve cold soba tea at the beginning, soba broth towards the end of the meal, and warm tea after. The service was prompt and pleasant. I visited around 2:30 pm on a weekday and surprisingly didn't have to wait to be seated. Until 4 pm, they offer a reasonably priced lunch set with soba, rice bowls, appetizers, vegetable tempura, and dessert. The walnut sauce soba is also a must-try. This place is popular for its chic atmosphere in the backstreets of Aoyama.

I visited around 2 pm on Sunday. There were about 4 groups waiting in line, but I was able to be seated after about a 20-minute wait. My wife ordered the tempura soba, and I ordered the kakiage soba with an additional seiro. They bring the second dish after you finish the first one. The tempura was especially delicious.

The restaurant is divided into two floors, with a narrow exterior and entrance, but a spacious interior where you can relax. They offer a wide range of menu items such as tempura, seiro soba, and duck soba. [Menu] - Tempura Seiro (Regular) 2000 yen Shrimp tempura, green pepper, pumpkin, shiitake mushroom, eggplant [Impressions] I visited this restaurant while shopping in Omotesando. It is located near the famous Shimizu-yu in Omotesando and operates continuously from 11:00, which is convenient. It's also nice that you can easily stop by after finishing at the hot spring! The restaurant was full during lunchtime, so I waited outside for about 5 minutes before entering. The staff's guidance and service were polite and wonderful! The service was speedy from ordering to serving, and the turnover is quick, but the atmosphere is cozy and you might end up lingering after eating. On the 3rd floor, 6 of us took our seats at the back at 7:00 PM. There are a lot of couples around. The atmosphere is quite nice. I forgot to take a photo, but the tempura with dipping sauce is the best. You should definitely try it. Of course, the soba noodles are delicious too, and the fried chicken is also tasty. And don't miss the black wagyu beef cutlet, it's a must-try dish!

At Omotesando, I had a refined soba lunch. I also visited a restaurant in Karuizawa! When it comes to Kawakami-an, they have huge shrimp tempura! But I left the tempura soba choice to my friend. I had the walnut soba, which was delicious with smooth and tasty soba noodles. I couldn't resist the maitake mushroom tempura and had to steal some. Thank you for the delicious meal!

This restaurant opens at 11:00 AM. When I arrived at 11:20 AM on Saturday, I was seated on the 3rd floor. The seating is ample and the turnover is good, so I didn't have to wait long. I found this restaurant by searching for "Tokyo walnut soba" online. I ordered the walnut sauce soba (1300 yen) and the tempura soba set (1700 yen). The food came out in about 5 minutes (very efficient!). The walnut sauce was very rich and coated the soba noodles perfectly, creating a satisfying experience in my mouth. The soba noodles were not thin but had a good elasticity and a strong aroma. The soba itself was delicious. The tempura was surprisingly light and fluffy, almost like cotton candy. It was fun to eat as it crumbled. The vegetables, including burdock root and pumpkin, were also delicious. I must not forget the cold soba tea served at the beginning. It was refreshing and I couldn't help but drink it quickly, but the staff kindly refilled it multiple times. Lastly, hot soba tea was served, which was also good. The staff were all smiling and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a meal that truly impressed me. After paying the bill and leaving, it was 11:45 AM and a few people were waiting outside. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant alone around 7:00 PM on Saturday and was able to enter smoothly without waiting. When I was seated, the staff informed me that most dishes could be prepared in half sizes, so I ordered half-size chilled tomatoes, corn tempura, and walnut soba. The corn tempura was crispy, sweet, and lived up to expectations. The soba noodles were thick and slightly chewy, lacking in the aroma of soba, which was a bit disappointing. The walnut dipping sauce was delicious.

Long time no see, I visited this place. I had some business in Harajuku that day, and I thought, "Oh, it's surprisingly close, I can walk there." The drinks were delicious, and the duck was tasty. I wonder where the duck is from? Maybe Kyoto? It doesn't really matter as long as it's delicious. Probably, it is. The fried corn was sweet and delicious. The lotus root wrapped in meat was also amazing. And of course, the walnut sauce on the soba noodles for dessert was fantastic. It was so good that I didn't mind the loud conversations from the group of four at the next table and the group behind me. I'm completely satisfied with the consistently delicious food. I definitely want to go back again.

It's about a 10-minute walk from Omotesando Station, and I went around 6 pm, but you couldn't enter without a reservation. They also have terrace seats, so there were people with pets. The walnut sauce soba is famous, but I found it a bit too heavy for my taste, so next time I'll try the regular soba. The tempura assortment included shrimp, bell pepper, sweet potato, green beans, eggplant, lotus root, zucchini, and 2 types of mushrooms, and it was quite generous.

I had visited Karuizawa before, but I heard it was located in Tokyo so I decided to visit. I was prepared for long lines, but surprisingly I was able to get in without waiting. The soba noodles were made with 100% buckwheat flour, giving them a strong flavor. Although I prefer thinner noodles, I found these thick noodles to be delicious. The deep-fried prawns were surprisingly satisfying and had a great crunch when eaten with rock salt. I would like to visit this place regularly.
