I was torn between the sesame dipping soba and the chilled meat dipping soba at this soba restaurant I visited for the first time. I decided to go with the sesame dipping soba because I'm not a fan of spicy dipping sauce, but I really like the soba here. Next time, I'll try the meat dipping soba. This is a soba restaurant near Ogikubo Station. I visited for lunch on a weekday and ordered the Small Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl Set (with half-sized soba) for 980 yen. The soba had a delicious aroma and a nice texture. The tempura had plenty of shrimp, and the squid tempura and fried chicken were also crispy and tasty. While standing-eating and self-service soba shops in and around the station are good, places like this are also nice to visit.

I had lunch today at "Sobadokoro Kichijo" in Ogikubo. It is located down the stairs from the west exit of Ogikubo Station towards Ome Kaido. This soba restaurant is operated by Forsees Co., which also runs "pizza-la," "Kushikatsu Dengana," "Miyata Sanuki Udon," and "Kichijoan." I ordered the "Oyakodon and soba" and chose warm soba since it was a bit chilly today. It took about 15 minutes for the order to arrive. The soba here is made from domestically grown buckwheat, ground with a stone mill, and served freshly made and boiled. The warm soba had a nice texture and was delicious. The dipping sauce had a rich soy sauce flavor typical of the Kanto region, and the aroma of the green onions made it even more appetizing. The Oyakodon wasn't fluffy but was a regular-sized bowl, which filled me up nicely!

Fried baby sardine rice bowl set and Mori soba. Both in large size. I wish there were a bit more baby sardines, but the flavor is not too strong which is great. The soba noodles are fragrant and have a subtly sweet and refreshing taste. I'm happy that the broth is not too sweet.

I visited an unexplored restaurant in Ogikubo after finishing work early. It's not a formal soba restaurant, but a slightly stylish place. I was planning to have lunch at another restaurant, but ended up having a couple of chu-hais for lunch. Thank you for the meal!

(Ogikubo Area 207th store) I visited in the evening. There were customers enjoying soba and alcohol. The seating area is spacious, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. This time, I had the Curry Don and soba (880 yen tax included). Both dishes had simple flavors. There are four types of soba to choose from: hot: kake, tanuki, cold: mori, bukkake. The curry had a moist, Japanese-style roux made with starch. The curry and soba combination was quite filling. It's a comfortable place to dine alone. Thank you for the meal.

A new shop has opened in Ogikubo. It's right by the station. There seems to be a lot of turnover in this area. It used to be a soba restaurant. I was thinking of getting simple soba, but I was drawn to the limited-time offer... I ordered the meat kenchin soup soba. My mother used to make kenchin soup often. It's my mother's taste. Lots of daikon, carrots, sliced burdock root, konjac, aburaage, lotus root, green onions, and plenty of pork. So many vegetables, which makes me happy. If only there was cotton tofu in it, it would be closer to my mother's kenchin soup. The soba had a different aroma. Maybe the simple mori soba would have been better at first. But my body feels warm now.

Near Ogikubo Station, there is a soba restaurant. I decided to stop by for a quick bite. Last order seems to be at 9 pm. In addition to soba, they also offer set meals with donburi. I chose the soba and mini katsudon set for 1050 yen. You can choose from hot or cold soba, with or without broth. The soba was average, nothing special in terms of texture or flavor. The katsudon was dry and overcooked, with tough meat and eggs.

This spring, a new soba restaurant opened. It is conveniently located near the station. I arrived around 3:45 pm on a weekday. There was only one group dining inside, so it was not crowded. I ordered the "katsu don and soba set" after looking at the sample outside. It cost ¥1050 including tax, and I chose to have warm tanuki soba. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The soba broth was rich and slightly sweet. The noodles could have been a bit firmer. The disappointing part was the katsu don. The sample and menu photos showed a generous amount of egg, but the actual dish felt a bit lacking. The taste was not bad, but I wish they paid more attention to the presentation. They have a variety of rice bowls to choose from, so you can pick according to your preference. It was a calm place to enjoy a meal. Thank you for the meal!

On a day when I was feeling a bit under the weather, I had some hot pot udon and Hakurakusei sake. It was delicious, especially since it had been a while since I last had Hakurakusei sake.

Seasonal limited item: Cold soba noodles with myoga (Japanese ginger) on top. Priced at 1100 yen. It was pretty good.

The chicken and mountain vegetable soba is a limited-time item. I added a mini bowl of shirasu-don.
