"Shabutei" revisited. I had been a regular customer before, but it had been a while since my last visit. This time, I went with a friend to enjoy the premium black wagyu beef shabu-shabu course. We started with plum wine as an aperitif. Then, sesame sauce and vegetables were served. We also requested ponzu sauce, and we were all set! The beautifully sliced meat got us excited, and we gently swirled it in the copper pot. The slightly pink meat was dipped in sesame sauce and then savored. The meat juices mixed with the sesame sauce in our mouths, making us smile. Shabu-shabu is always a good choice. We also enjoyed the lightness of ponzu sauce. We mixed sesame sauce and ponzu sauce for a richer flavor. We finished off with vegetables and udon, feeling satisfied. The sherbet at the end left our mouths refreshed. I realized that I still want to enjoy wagyu beef shabu-shabu from time to time. I will definitely come back again."

Today, I was taken out to lunch by a client. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. At the table seats, there is a special copper pot for one person. I ordered the "Double" beef and pork mix set. Soon, vegetables, condiments, and sesame sauce were brought to the table. Then, a plate of sliced meat arrived after taking the order! I quickly shabu-shabu the thinly sliced meat in the boiling kombu broth in the pot. The meat is tender and delicious, without any unpleasant smell. The rich and fragrant sesame sauce is not too heavy, with a refreshing aftertaste and a hint of sweetness. It is made with 22 spices, maintaining its flavor and richness even when diluted. The vegetables include Chinese cabbage, bean sprouts, chrysanthemum greens, carrots, seaweed, and tofu. The tofu is soft yet firm, sourced directly from a long-established store. The "Double" set includes 120g of top-grade beef and 100g of top-grade pork. You can ask for a refill of the sesame sauce if it runs out. The thick udon noodles for the finishing touch should be eaten within a suitable time to avoid becoming too soft and breaking apart. I finished the meal and it was delicious. Next time, I would like to try the "Mega Pork Set", which includes 400g of pork, five times the amount of the regular pork.

I made a reservation by phone on the same day and was seated at the counter. They sliced the meat right in front of me and it was really delicious shabu-shabu. However, I felt like the portion was a bit small unless you order a double. Also, the Calpis I ordered personally was very diluted, which was a bit disappointing. But overall, I would like to go back to this restaurant with my family or friends!

The tofu is sourced from a well-known tofu shop at the Kuromon Market, and they use carefully selected domestic vegetables. Don't expect much from the service, from welcoming to ordering to serving. Just wait patiently. They don't even look at the customers when seating them or when guiding them to their table. The staff also doesn't pay much attention to adjusting the heat of the pot after serving the food. However, I have been coming here since I was 25. The reason is simple - the food is delicious. That's it. The thickness of the meat for shabu-shabu is perfect and the sauce is outstanding. So, I keep coming back without caring about the service. All that matters is being able to enjoy the shabu-shabu.

A nostalgic and cost-effective shabu-shabu restaurant with a traditional atmosphere! Operated by Okumura Jitsugyo Co., Ltd., led by Mayumi Okumura, the restaurant specializes in shabu-shabu. They run "Shabu Tei" with 4 locations in Osaka (Shinsaibashi, Nishi Umeda, Hankyu Kappa Yokocho, and Mitsuderamichi). They also operate "Sukishabu Tei Buffet" in 2 locations, totaling 6 directly managed stores. The restaurant is located about 30 meters north from FamilyMart Nishi Umeda, turning left on the east-west Route 38 and walking about 40 meters to find it on the left. I used the lunch service again this month. Despite the light rain, there were 5 groups waiting before the store opened. I ordered the mixed single. You can enjoy the chewiness of the beef and the tenderness of the pork. This time, I had seconds of rice and finished all the condiments. Thank you for the delicious shabu-shabu.

This time I went for an all-you-can-eat and drink course! I had 3 plates of meat and 2 servings of vegetable platters. The meat was delicious, both the beef and pork. But I ate too much... The udon noodles at the end were also delicious.

The strongest sesame sauce! It's rich but not heavy, and the meat goes down easily. I ordered the mixed beef and pork shabu shabu single, and the meat and vegetables were just the right amount. Thanks to the sesame sauce, I ended up getting a second helping of rice for free. The staff's service was excellent, and I was able to enjoy my meal with peace of mind. I will definitely be using this restaurant again.

I recommend this restaurant which is calmer than Kappa Yokocho. They have tables for two people, and the shabu-shabu with pork is a must-try. The triple option is very satisfying. The sesame sauce is delicious, but I feel like the ponzu sauce is a bit lacking. Customize your taste with the table's green onions and garlic. It's lunchtime, so eat to your heart's content!

During this Golden Week, the only place I went to was Shabutei in Osaka, a restaurant I was looking forward to. I used to visit this place frequently when it was open, so it was nice to see that nothing has changed when I visited again after a long time. At Shabutei, the standard way to enjoy your meal is with sesame sauce, although I initially felt a bit strange about it and also asked for ponzu sauce. However, I gradually got used to just using the sesame sauce, and the amount of green onions increased over time. After a toast with plum wine, they serve you vegetables and meat. I prefer to put the meat in first, so I shabu-shabu the meat and take a bite. Then I add the vegetables, and once it boils, I add tofu and more meat little by little. The restaurant was full on that day, so it's better to make a reservation by phone beforehand (even at the last minute).

I finally visited Shabutei in Nishi-Umeda, which I had been curious about for a while. Over half of the customers were from overseas. It's easy to enter even if you're alone, and the service was good. I didn't realize that rice wasn't included and added it late. It's not written on the menu, so be careful not to miss it. Mixed beef and pork shabu-jumbo course for 3,397 yen.

Located just a short walk from Nishi-Umeda Theater on the Osaka Metro, this shabu-shabu specialty restaurant offers both counter and table seating, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy a meal. During lunchtime, there was a bit of a wait - it's a popular spot! I couldn't decide between the pork shabu-shabu and the beef shabu-shabu, but since it was also a celebration, I opted for the mixed beef and pork set meal. The Beef and Pork Mix Set Meal comes with rice, pickles, meat, and a vegetable platter (with udon noodles). You can have unlimited refills of rice and pickles. The dipping sauce is a homemade sesame sauce. The staff recommended adding a bit of shichimi pepper and green onions to the sesame sauce for extra flavor. I avoided the garlic due to its strong smell and used shichimi pepper for a flavor twist. The set meal includes 50g of premium pork and 60g of premium beef. The meat quality is excellent. You cook the meat in the boiling pot in front of you, along with the generous amount of vegetables - cabbage, mizuna, and tofu. The pot bubbles away right in front of you, and the sesame sauce is incredibly delicious. The portion size is quite generous, especially with the rice and udon noodles, so I left feeling very full. The lunch menu is available from 11 am to 4 pm and offers a limited selection of set meals. They also have other courses, and you can add extra meat or vegetables. It's a healthy and satisfying shabu-shabu experience. I definitely want to bring someone else here next time. It was a delicious meal!

This is a shop where you can eat quickly and leave quickly. I really like it and sometimes visit alone. I like their sesame sauce the best. It's my favorite even more than high-end restaurants. 5390 yen for a square highball, 462 yen for a mix jumbo course, 3080 yen for adding cabbage, and 1430 yen for adding premium pork.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while but never had the chance to go. The food was delicious. However, even after asking twice, they didn't bring out the ice cream after the meal. I gave up. I thought maybe they would at least apologize when I paid, but they didn't. Too bad. The staff were friendly to customers, but I didn't enjoy listening to their conversations among themselves, so I probably won't go back.

I found this fun-looking restaurant just a stone's throw away from where I work. It had a retro cafe vibe, and I decided to check it out on a weekday at 2 pm. When I walked in, I was surprised by how spacious it was inside. The counter had small copper pots lined up at regular intervals. I ordered the beef and pork mix set meal (with 50g of pork and 60g of beef) for 1270 yen. Each set meal came with rice, a vegetable side dish (with udon), and pickles, with free refills for the rice and pickles. The meat was sliced using a slicer after the order was placed. The thinly sliced meat, about 6 pieces of pork and 4 pieces of beef, was placed in a bubbling pot. The meat cooked quickly due to the high heat, so there wasn't much waiting time. The homemade sesame sauce was delicious, and I wished I could buy some to take home. The pork was light, and the beef was creamy, with the rich flavor of the sesame sauce enhancing both. I could eat this meat all day. I ordered extra pork shabu-shabu (80g of pork) for 230 yen, but skipped the garlic due to work. The vegetables included Chinese cabbage, a little watercress, carrots, bean sprouts, and tofu. The Chinese cabbage went well with the sesame sauce. Finally, I boiled some udon noodles. Be careful not to overcook them, as they are quite soft. I ate them with the sesame sauce, but I heard they also have a special udon broth, so I'll try that next time. They will give you more sesame sauce if it runs out, so feel free to ask. You can also ask for ponzu sauce.

The tables were too close together, making it feel like I was eating with strangers. I couldn't have a private conversation because everything could be heard by the people next to us. Recently, I've been hooked on going to a shabu-shabu restaurant by myself. On this particular day, I felt like eating a lot, so I ordered the "Mega (400g)" option, which cost 1,958 yen. Despite the large portion, the price was reasonable and I was grateful for that. When I entered the restaurant, I couldn't see much from the entrance, but inside there were counter seats on the left and table seats on the right. It's a popular spot, always full during lunchtime regardless of the day. Luckily, I managed to get a seat at the counter without waiting this time. I ordered the Mega Pork Set (400g of pork for 1,958 yen). They sliced the meat thinly but not too thin, so it had a good thickness to it. The pork was a good balance of lean meat and fat, probably from the shoulder loin. I dipped the meat in the flavorful broth with lots of vegetables and enjoyed it shabu-shabu style. The homemade sesame sauce was delicious and I couldn't stop eating. I even asked for ponzu sauce, which they happily provided. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the 400g of meat without getting tired of it, and I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. The reasonable price made the experience even better.
