For some reason, I've been getting off at Nippori station a lot lately. This time, I decided not to go to the soba restaurant and just have a quick drink at Toriki. Cheers with a Mega Highball~♪ The snacks we had were potato fries, fried cartilage, and fried chicken skin. It was a deep-fried feast! When I asked for mayonnaise, they brought it to me right away. It's very convenient compared to other chain restaurants. It was really crowded though. Thank you for the meal.

Torikizoku Nippori Store
Tokyo, Arakawa-ku, Higashi Nippori 5-50-10 The Aube 2F
After watching a TV show featuring a non-closing store, I felt like going to Torikizoku for the first time in a while. I went on a whim. I ordered cabbage, kamameshi (rice cooked in an iron pot), beer, fluffy yam teppanyaki, Torikizoku grilled dish, pikata, and tebasaki (chicken wings). Everything was only 327 yen each, so cheap! And delicious!! There weren't many customers, so the orders arrived quickly, making me feel like I got a good deal. However, some dishes arrived slightly cold, which was a bit disappointing. It was strange that the place wasn't crowded... But Torikizoku is still delicious, cheap, and a great ally for salarymen. It was very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I treated my friend to Torikizoku as a thank you for helping me with work. It had been a few years since I last visited. We ordered chicken thigh, chicken breast, beef skewers, croquettes, gizzards, and chicken tails. The portions were large as usual, and the flavors were strong, perfect for drinking. However, the meat felt a bit tough.

I love Torikizoku so much♡ If you're having trouble deciding where to go, just go to Torikizoku haha. I usually just order one Torikizoku skewer and it's enough for me. I've been going to Torikizoku so much that I don't have many photos. I've probably tried more than half of the menu items! Some places don't stay open late or are closed, but once they reopen, I'm definitely going to keep going there♪ My favorites include hot and crispy french fries, pickled cucumbers, fried cartilage to snack on while drinking, and the affordable and tasty kama-meshi (pot rice) which I think is the best food at Torikizoku. When I order it, I always get one kama-meshi per person. Because sharing it wouldn't be enough haha. Writing this review is making me really want to go to Torikizoku now!

I was walking towards my favorite yakitori restaurant in Nippori when I spotted Toriki along the way. I made excuses like the yakitori place being a bit far and possibly full, so I convinced someone to try Toriki instead. This time, we were able to get in easily, unlike before when it used to be crowded. I remembered a friend once told me to try the "Kizoku-yaki" and kama-meshi at Toriki. This was my third visit to Toriki, and I followed the advice by ordering the Kizoku-yaki with sauce and choosing the shrimp salt-grilled on my own. Of course, I also had the Toriki kama-meshi! While I usually prefer cheap chain izakayas, Toriki is not bad either. It's not the kind of place I would go alone, but coming here occasionally is just right. The large version of the Kizoku-yaki sold in front of the supermarket was good. The shrimp salt-grilled was quite tasty. The Toriki kama-meshi was well done for the price. Just like Hidakaya, the sour drinks here are a bit weak. When you're looking to drink and move on to the next place, the weak sour drinks can be convenient. So, in a way, it's a good spot for that.

It's a liver-rest day, so cheers with All Free. I wonder why non-alcoholic drinks don't go down smoothly. (;∀;)

We sat at the two-person counter seat again, just like last time! It's great that you can get unlimited cabbage refills!

Torikizoku is a familiar place with its uniform pricing, which is reassuring. However, today I had to eat alone on a business trip. The yakitori skewers come in pairs on one plate, so having two large skewers by myself was a bit tough. It would have been nice if I could mix and match different types of skewers one by one. The stuffed bell peppers come in a plate of three. There were no condiments on the table, so I couldn't adjust the flavor. The daikon salad had a nice crispy texture, but the amount of furikake sprinkled on top was too salty, making it inedible. Cabbage is a classic and you can ask for refills, which is a good deal. However, the portion seemed smaller, perhaps due to the recent increase in cabbage prices. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a bit noisy, with staff members calling out "Irasshaimase" and speaking in a foreign language that I couldn't understand. Despite there being few customers at that early hour, the staff seemed to be chatting and laughing in a foreign language. I quickly finished my meal and the total came to 1600 yen for five items. Overall, it was a bit challenging to dine alone at this place.
