Today's lunch was at a restaurant my son recommended. I felt like having rice dishes, and I remembered the time in Kochi when I found fried rice tastier than ramen. It's conveniently located near Kunitachi and a good place to visit before going to Ofudosama. I walked from Minamimorimachi through the Tenjin shopping street. It was lunchtime and the popular places had long lines, while the empty ones seemed cursed. It's unfortunate to see this shopping street deserted on a holiday, but unless they put in more effort, the curse won't leave them alone. The long line was for a famous sushi restaurant. Thanks to the kids, the hardworking locals were disappointed. I wish I could tell the mothers! People under twenty and students are more likely to get food poisoning from raw sushi, so it's best to avoid it! Edomae sushi is meant to be eaten quickly, so don't chat loudly with your partner inside! But I guess no one will say that, huh? Anyway, back on track, when I arrived, there was no line, but I barely made it in. After a short wait, a female staff member brought cold water. This was the first time I received such service at a ramen restaurant. I was sweaty, so I appreciated the gesture. Eventually, I got in and ordered the Zero-class salt ramen for 870 yen, and I opted for the Two-class miso ramen for 890 yen. I also ordered the egg fried rice for 600 yen and a plate of wontons for around 300 yen. It seemed a bit pricey... Are there really enough people in Kochi, where wages are lower than average? The food arrived quickly. Everything was beautifully presented. Nice! I tried the fried rice first. It was delicious, but for 600 yen, it was just egg. The flavor change was good too! However, if they want you to add soy sauce for flavor change, I wish the base saltiness was a bit more subdued. As for the miso ramen, it didn't suit my taste. Honestly, I didn't find it delicious. But that's just my preference, and those who like this miso flavor might think it's a good miso ramen. The salt ramen, with its clear soup and well-cooked noodles, was good. But it was also a flavor that was a bit outside my comfort zone. It's a restaurant with unique flavors. Is it a Kochi-style taste? I regret not choosing the soy sauce option. The wontons were okay, more like water dumplings than wontons. Overall, it may be good, but not for me... However, if it were an egg fried rice joint instead of a ramen joint, the rating would be a bit higher. I'll come back for the fried rice. Next time, I'll try the soy sauce one. Thank you.
