I have visited this place twice, but I have only tried the tsukemen. The rich miso soup and slightly curly thick noodles go well together. The stir-fried vegetables that come with it have a great punch of garlic chives and a crunchy texture. Adding the chili oil on the table enhances the junk food feeling even more. The fact that you can get a large portion for free is a plus, but the cost of ending up in the 1,000 yen range and the staff's lack of friendliness are just part of the charm. - Ikebukuro / Raamen Tsubameshi - Price: 1,000 yen - Miso Tonkotsu Tsukemen: 1,000 yen - Large portion: Free - Rating: 3.38 on Tabelog - Overall rating: ★★★★★☆☆☆☆

I was lured in by the sign for miso tonkotsu ramen at a ramen shop near my company. I remembered the delicious tonkotsu miso ramen I used to eat at a place called Waraji in front of Miyazaki Station when I was in charge of Kyushu. The soup was light and lacked the richness of tonkotsu, which made it somewhat disappointing. However, adding the spicy chili oil, fragrant garlic, and green onions in generous amounts transformed the flavor into a delicious soup. The straight noodles had a good chewiness and a pleasant texture.

I came to this noodle shop because I heard they serve noodles that you can eat a lot of. Although it's unrelated, the price of the special dipping noodles (Tenshikaeshi) was 1050 yen, and I happened to have exactly 1057 yen in my wallet, so I felt it was fate and chose the special dipping noodles. You can choose the amount of noodles from 270g, 400g, and 540g, so it's definitely a good deal! I chickened out and chose 400g. The speed of service was neither fast nor slow, but it was reasonable considering there were quite a few people there. As for the taste, the dipping sauce was lighter than I expected and didn't cling to the noodles much. However, the rich flavor made it just right and delicious. The soft-boiled egg was cooked perfectly, and the noodles were smooth. It was a pretty tasty dipping noodles overall. In terms of cost performance, 1050 yen for 400g... it's not bad, but I only chickened out and didn't go for the 540g, so I can't really say. Next time, I'll definitely go for the 540g and recommend it to others as the best cost performance!

Taste: 3.7 Cleanliness: 2.5 Customer Service: 2.5 Cost Performance: 3.8 Preference: 3.7 Oil Soba (Soy Sauce) (Large Size) 770 yen Everyone seems to have overlooked this place, but personally, when it comes to oil soba, this might be my favorite in Ikebukuro. The stir-fried vegetables on top are really to my liking. They are of the same quality as the delicious stir-fried vegetables served in casual Chinese restaurants. Additionally, the noodles are cooked to my preferred thickness and firmness. There are three flavors available: soy sauce, miso, and salt. I highly recommend the soy sauce oil soba. I do not recommend the ramen, tsukemen, or mixed soba. Stick to the soy sauce oil soba for the best taste. You can choose up to a free extra large portion of 540g of noodles. Be careful not to make the wrong choice. (laughs) (Please note that this is just my personal opinion.)

Recently, I only go to the office about once a week, and I've been eating a lot of pasta, so it had been a while since I had ramen! It was hot, so I decided to go to this place near the office! I arrived at 11:40 am, there was no wait, and the restaurant was about 30% full. More customers started coming in later, and by the time we left, it was almost full! Today, I had ramen again. I debated whether to get the large size or the extra-large size since they were the same price, but I went with the large size. In the end, I felt like the portion was a bit smaller today, so maybe I should have gotten the extra-large. But as always, it was delicious! The restaurant was cool inside, so it was a nice meal. Thank you for the meal.

I think this place is a famous restaurant where you can enter quickly. I always order the regular ramen for 800 yen, but today I ordered the special ramen for 1050 yen. I was a little disappointed. The extra 250 yen for 1 boiled egg, 1 slice of pork, and 1 sheet of seaweed felt expensive. I also felt like the taste was not as good. In conclusion, the basic ramen at this restaurant is the best. I think it's better to just add a boiled egg as a topping.

Today is my day off after a long time. I'm going to the ramen shop I've been wanting to try since noon! I was curious about the miso tonkotsu ramen at Tsubameshikisan. I chose the miso tonkotsu on the ticket machine. Surprisingly, you can choose from regular, large, and extra large sizes. The noodle options are 150g, 200g, and 300g. I went for the extra large size! When I sat down, they asked me about the spiciness level. They had mild, spicy, medium, and very spicy, so I asked for medium. The thick noodles had a good texture and a nice wheat flavor. Plus, there were plenty of vegetables, almost as much as a tanmen dish. The miso tonkotsu broth was rich and had a good mouthfeel. It wasn't too thick, but it was quite flavorful. They also had a variety of condiments on the table, so I added grated garlic for extra flavor and enjoyed finishing every last bit. This place is definitely going to be a regular spot for me. Thank you for the meal!

In the end, while the tonkotsu miso ramen here is delicious, the seafood-flavored ramen is the best. The slightly straight, delicate curly noodles and the initially orthodox Chinese soba-like soup actually have an exquisite harmony. This ramen is created from the delicate balance of boiling and cooking time, so there is no time for fake smiles. Today, it was unusually crowded, but they still brought the wet towels to the table without forgetting. I have increased the service rating by 0.1.

Afternoon, around 3 pm, I suddenly felt like having ramen. I found a place nearby called "Tsubamehashi"! Even though I thought I could handle the 300g serving, I ended up ordering the extra-large size. When it arrived in front of me, I realized it was a dangerous situation. The taste was rich, the noodles were firm, and the portion was generous. But I managed to finish it all. The dumplings were brought in from Utsunomiya. The beer was ice-cold and fantastic. Miso ramen for 900 yen, dumplings for 450 yen, and a medium-sized bottle of beer for 550 yen.

I had passed by this place a few times and was curious, so today during lunchtime when I saw that there were empty seats, I decided to go in. There was a ticket machine right at the entrance. I selected the ramen in the top left corner, sat at the counter, and ordered a large portion, which was free of charge. I waited for a bit and then my ramen arrived. It had one slice of chashu, a small piece of seaweed, finely chopped onions, and bamboo shoots. The soup had a good soy sauce flavor with a nice aroma of seafood and tonkotsu. Although the toppings were a bit lacking, the ramen was delicious. Thank you for the meal. They have a variety of menu options like tsukemen and maze-soba, so I look forward to trying something different next time.

I tried the miso tonkotsu ramen. The diced onions added a nice flavor. The soup is rich with a balance of sweetness and spiciness. It also has corn, a must for authentic miso ramen. It's delicious, although I prefer regular ramen. The portion size is generous, with options for extra large servings at the same price.

Visited with a friend after 16:00. The restaurant was not crowded. We purchased ramen and shrimp salt tsukemen at the ticket machine near the entrance, then sat at a table and waited for about 5 minutes before our dishes arrived. The ramen had medium-thin curly noodles with a good texture. The soup had a seafood base with a hint of bonito, giving it depth and a good umami flavor. It wasn't too strong but had a nice richness. There was no acidity or spiciness. The toppings included chashu pork, seaweed, bamboo shoots, onions, and green onions. Overall, the quality seemed relatively high and it was quite delicious. The shrimp salt tsukemen had thick, slightly flat and slightly curly noodles that were chewy and had a smooth texture. The dipping sauce seemed to be salt pork bone broth, oily and thin, not sticking well to the noodles. It had a strong pork smell and lacked shrimp flavor. The toppings included watercress, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, green onions, and pork fat. The balance was off, and overall it wasn't very tasty. I would recommend the ramen but not the shrimp salt tsukemen. I forgot to take a picture, but the chili oil on the table was surprisingly delicious.

Vending machine, unfriendly staff. Ramen shop along Route 254. Counter and table seating inside. For some reason, the atmosphere along Ikebukuro and the highways in Kita Ward feels like a scene from a 70s American movie set along a state road in the Midwest. You half expect Dennis Hopper to get into a confrontation with a rude waitress. There's no "welcome," but despite that, the food is delicious. The noodles are firm, but they blend well with the soup and are excellent. The texture is also good. I want to go back again.

Visited Enkaeshisan in Ikebukuro after searching on a public holiday night. The shop was a bit away from the station, but easy to find. The interior was lit with chic lighting. I tried the special tsukemen (the reviewer) and the mazesoba. The tsukemen broth had a strong bonito flavor, which paired well with the thick noodles and was very delicious. The mazesoba was also outstanding! Especially the special vinegar was incredibly tasty, and when you pour it on halfway through, it transforms into an amazing flavor change! I felt that it was a shop worth visiting.

I walked a bit from Ikebukuro East Exit, where there are many dining options and Teikyo Heisei University nearby. I've been to many shops in the area, but this was my first visit to "Raamen Tsubamesashi". I tried to buy a meal ticket from the vending machine, but I couldn't understand the options, so I went outside to look at the pictures. Honestly, I couldn't figure out which ramen was recommended, so I ended up buying the seafood tsukemen. (The person in front of me did the exact same thing, so it would be helpful if the vending machine had some explanations). The restaurant is spacious with table seating, and you can also order alcohol. The tsukemen that arrived had a generous portion of thick noodles piled up! Also, there was a lot of soup for the tsukemen, so I could comfortably dip and eat. The soup was relatively light, but it remained tasty until the end without becoming bland. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Despite that, there were no signs of university students among the customers. They bought their food tickets from the machine outside the restaurant and entered without being greeted. They sat down casually, handed over their food tickets, and soon received their bowls of food. The meal was average, lacking any outstanding qualities but also not having any negative aspects. It was just okay.

It was about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. It is located near the hospital where I go for regular check-ups. I found that both of the shops I had previously discovered were closed. I had the miso tonkotsu ramen, which had a miso flavor with a spicy kick. The noodles were thick. They offered free extra noodles.

Last time I had ramen, but this time I tried the oil noodles that I was curious about. They offer salt, soy sauce, and miso flavors, and the noodle portion sizes (regular, large, extra-large) are all the same price, which is great. This time, I'll have the large salt flavor, please. It comes with stir-fried pork, bean sprouts, green onions, and chives, all mixed with heavily seasoned noodles. The hot bean sprouts are crunchy and delicious! The thick noodles with a sharp edge are perfectly balanced with the flavors. This taste is addictive! I tried the soy sauce flavor this time. It's also delicious. Even the regular size is satisfying. Topped with homemade chili oil, it's spicy and tasty. I'm hooked on this. I'll definitely come back again.

The photos on Tabelog showed a rich pork bone and seafood broth, but the richness was lacking, perhaps due to the low oil content, and the temperature of the soup was not hot enough. The noodles were quite thin, which was a disappointment for someone expecting a rich pork bone and seafood flavor.
