Located just a 2-minute walk from JR Kitasenju Station West Exit, Kitasenju Marui is home to Furuiichi-an Kitasenju Marui store on the 1st floor, a take-out sushi and onigiri specialty shop. Maintaining the traditional handmade flavors, they offer a satisfying taste centered around rolled sushi at reasonable prices. Operated by Furuiichi-an Co., Ltd. based in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, they have a total of 127 stores in well-known department stores, station buildings, and shopping centers nationwide (as of April 2019). Visiting around 1 pm on weekdays, there were no prior customers. The showcase displays items such as Kotemari Futomaki for 680 yen, Battera for 529 yen, Sumire for 540 yen, Sui Assortment for 1,144 yen, Small Sui Assortment for 621 yen, Anago Zukushi for 626 yen, and Yuzu-flavored Mackerel Takana Maki for 594 yen. Their specialty seems to be pressed sushi, all priced around 600 yen, making them quite affordable. Let's try purchasing one. The Sui Assortment Kotemari for 583 yen includes small hand-rolled sushi with shrimp, scallop, salmon, squid, and tuna. The rolls consist of Tekka, Kanpyo, and Kappa, accompanied by small inari and pickled ginger. Oh, how colorful! Not the ClariS 8th single, but in this case, it means "vivid." The squid surface is cut with a hidden knife for easy eating and better soy sauce integration. The traditional toppings provide a sense of security for take-out sushi. It can be nerve-wracking when there's something like sardine in it. Not the ClariS 3rd original album "PARTY TIME," but the lyrics to "RESTART" go like, "I want to make you nervous, I want to see your real face, different from the classroom." A bit different kind of nervousness, right (laughs)? By the way, the album also includes "Colorful."
