Nishinari-ku, Osaka. I visited Kochu-ya, located under the elevated tracks of the Nankai Line, connected to Tennoji Station. This was my first time visiting this shop, although I had been to the main store a few times before. The shop has a counter that can seat about 7 people, and my companion and I were lucky to have made a reservation. Throughout our meal, the phone at the shop kept ringing with people wanting to dine in, but it was always fully booked. It's a very popular place. There is one head chef and one staff member working, providing authentic sushi at reasonable prices. Today, we started with a set of 5 pieces of assorted sushi for 1000 yen. They serve bottled beer, shochu, and sake. We also ordered additional dishes like seared bonito and tekka maki. We had tuna and conger eel until we were full. As we were leaving, there was a sudden heavy rainstorm. At times like this, it's great to have a shop directly connected to the station. We enjoyed the food very much. Thank you for the meal. I definitely want to visit again.

When I went before, there were more items on the menu, so I was a little disappointed this time. Maybe because it was right after the long weekend... However, it was very affordable. If I lived nearby, I would definitely pop in to see what new items they have. Highly recommended.

I want to eat sushi~♡ It's been a while, so I made a last-minute reservation with my husband. We visited a sushi restaurant where an apprentice of Koshu-ya is said to be working. The place is located under the Nankai Electric Railway viaduct, next to Aizu-ya. The restaurant only has a counter with 7-8 seats. The chef handles both sushi-making and cooking. A woman is in charge of drinks and cleaning. We started with non-alcoholic beer for me and bottled beer for my husband since they don't serve draft beer. My husband's favorite bonito tataki was delicious without any fishy taste! I had cherry shrimp and trefoil in broth, which was fragrant and delicious! We had an assortment of 5 nigiri for 1,000 yen each. The rice was fluffy and delicious. We enjoyed kanpachi, isaki, maguro, sword squid, scallop, sea bream, chu-toro, firefly squid, cutlassfish, and octopus. Unlike the main store, they served 10 pieces of nigiri with toppings. We also had mackerel tataki, seasonal fish, conger eel, and firefly squid with sea urchin. The boiled clams were unexpectedly the best dish of the day. The broth was delicious and the clams were plump and sweet. The rolled omelette with red miso soup was also tasty.

I visited the restaurant during the day. The restaurant is located in a commercial facility under the elevated structure of Tennocho Station, but there is no sign and you can only enter from outside the facility, so I got lost. When I arrived at 1:00 pm, two customers were enjoying sushi. A woman who came for lunch sat down in front of me at almost the same time. The atmosphere of the restaurant doesn't look like a sushi restaurant from the outside. Inside the restaurant, there is a single counter setup similar to a ramen shop. The facility's sign says "standing sushi", but there are chairs available. There is a menu at the back of the counter. The restaurant closes at 2:00 pm, so I enjoyed it all at once. It was really delicious. There is a picture in the center of the restaurant that says "A time to feel HAPPY". It's exactly the kind of place that makes you feel that way. I wish there was a place like this nearby. By the way, I have tried to visit the main store a few times without success, and I have also tried to make a reservation several times but have not been able to visit yet. It is a very popular restaurant, so it is quite difficult for visitors to get in. If you are alone, the "2" branch is open for lunch, so the hurdle is lower. I couldn't find a seat at the popular restaurant, so I ended up at a shop under the guard of Etchuya. I ordered cold sake and asked for a chef's selection of 5 pieces of sushi! The recommended first piece today is from sea bream. It's delicious as always. It goes perfectly with the cold sake! Next, I got yellowtail! It's so delicious that I forget I'm under the guard of Tenkachaya Station! The third piece of lean tuna is refreshing and tasty! Drinking cold sake on a weekday afternoon and enjoying such delicious sushi makes me appreciate the happiness! Next is the slightly unusual cutlassfish. It has a good texture! Finally, I got mackerel. It also tastes great! I wanted to eat more, so I added squid with sea urchin and conger eel! They are all exquisite! If it's this delicious, I'll make an effort to come back again!!! Thank you for the meal!!!

The selection is not extensive, but there are enough options to choose from while enjoying drinks. Each piece of sushi is priced, making it wallet-friendly. The sushi, crafted by the modest and diligent chef, is surprisingly delicious for the price. The cozy atmosphere of the small shop is also very relaxing. They also serve lunch, so I would like to visit for a daytime drink as well.

After starting work this year... in order to work hard this year, I wanted to eat something delicious! So I decided to try going to a restaurant where I couldn't even tell the name because the curtain at the entrance was plain without any writing. It's always crowded, but this time there was an empty seat! Without hesitation, I went in! It's a small restaurant with a counter of 6 seats under a canopy. It's run by a young chef. I ordered the omakase set of 5 pieces from the menu posted in the restaurant. Even though it was my first time there... I felt like I've been here before somehow??? Lately, this place reminds me of my favorite "Echuya" near here??? The menu fonts look similar! Maybe he's an apprentice there??? I thought to myself, this place is definitely a delicious restaurant!!! I ordered the omakase set of 5 pieces and a beer! The sushi that arrived was sea bream, squid, amberjack, kohada, and lean tuna! They were all delicious, just like the master's touch! Of course, it's good, it's delicious!!! And then, even though it's daytime... I felt like drinking cold sake... I ordered eel, mackerel, and tekka maki with cold sake as an addition! If it's here, no matter what I eat, it's delicious, and I felt like I could eat it over and over again! Thank you for the meal!!! By the way, it turned out he was indeed an apprentice from Echuya!

We were lucky to find the usually crowded restaurant empty and managed to get a table. We ordered a chawanmushi and enjoyed it with a highball. Then, we ordered katsuo tataki, shirako ponzu, uni gunkan, and engawa. As we were about to finish, we noticed a menu on the wall that made us laugh - "Cucumber rolls for dessert." We had a good laugh and left feeling satisfied. We couldn't find the restaurant's phone number anywhere, so we asked and received it. Next time, we will make a reservation before heading there.

After a satisfying meal at Shisso, a hidden gem under the reign of Myboom Tenkachaya, it seems that reservations are a must as there are only 8 counter seats available. We started with a toast with sweet potato soda. The menu included seared mackerel and fresh Pacific saury for 700 yen each, crispy shrimp and fried sweet potato for 400 yen, and various other dishes ranging from 100 to 900 yen. The dishes were all delicious, with highlights being the creamy cod milt, crispy grilled eel, and tender whitefish. The sushi selection was also impressive, with favorites like emperor shrimp, fatty tuna, and scallops. The meal ended with a refreshing cucumber roll and a savory egg red miso soup. With a bill of 6000 yen for all the food and drinks, this place is definitely worth a revisit.

Koshinoya (Higashino) is a sushi restaurant located under the elevated tracks of the Nankai Electric Railway at Tenkachaya Station. It is a branch of the popular sushi restaurant Koshinoya near Kishinosato Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line. They recently started serving lunch sets, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant has only 7 counter seats, and aside from the lunch set, they also offer a recommended 5-piece sushi set for 1,000 yen, as well as individual sushi orders. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food given the reasonable prices. The lunch set for 950 yen included 7 pieces of sushi, rolled sushi, tamago (egg), and red miso soup. Each piece of sushi was expertly prepared and delicious. The ginger served with the sushi had a nice sharpness to it. The octopus had a great texture and flavor, and the horse mackerel was fresh and slightly tangy. The eel was so tender and flavorful that it practically melted in my mouth. The sardine, a seasonal specialty, was rich and fatty, and the simmered conger eel was soft and full of flavor. Overall, the meal was satisfying and left me wanting to try more from their menu. I highly recommend visiting this branch of Koshinoya and trying their delicious sushi. You can also get takeout from this location.

On July 24, 2022, I had a meal at Kohada restaurant. I ordered the recommended assorted sushi plate for 5 pieces at ¥1,000, which included kohada, pachi, honmaguro, tachiuo, kinmedai, ika, uni, and more. I also had shrimp, bonito, horse mackerel, scallops, green onions, tekka maki, cucumber roll, grilled eel, fried young sweetfish, grilled salted tuna collar, egg in red dashi, a glass of special junmai sake "Natsuayaka 2022," a shochu soda mix, and a medium bottle of beer for a total of ¥5,500.

I went to "Sushi Etchu-ya Higashino" at Tenkacha Station! I had bottled beer, firefly squid with vinegar miso, pickled ginger with lotus root, grilled eel, one cup of sake, recommended nigiri sushi (kanpachi, akami, nodoguro, karei, namazuko), tachi fish, sawara, kamatoro, cucumber roll, and agari. It was delicious! I still have more sushi I want to try, so I have to go back again!

Under the elevated tracks near Tenkachaya Station on the Nankai Electric Railway, there is a restaurant called "Echuya." Visited with a friend on a holiday afternoon. Arrived 5 minutes before opening and managed to get one of the 7 seats available (the remaining 5 were reserved). Started with a blissful bottle of beer enjoyed outside. Ordered the recommended menu for the day: simmered octopus (flavored with taro), bonito tataki (perfect with cold sake). Had 3 servings of Tateyama cold sake. Ordered the recommended nigiri sushi set (5 pieces): sea bream, striped jack, tuna, squid, alfonsino. Added on egg (appetizer), scallop, sweet shrimp with kelp, gizzard shad, medium fatty tuna, red leg shrimp, alfonsino with squid and sea urchin, conger eel, rolled omelette. Also had potato on the rocks. Nigiri can be ordered from 1 piece (¥100-¥500). The owner runs the place and it's a casual sushi restaurant. The rice is warm and well-seasoned (it's the type of rice that's best when warm, so preferences may vary, but I personally liked it). Ate and drank heartily for 90 minutes. A good amount of food and drink for the daytime. "Thank you for the meal."

Arrived at 12 o'clock. "Hmm, I wonder if the store is closed," I asked at the takeout restaurant Koshu-ya, but they didn't know. After about 10 minutes, they opened! "Oh, they were just running late." Maybe it was the same pattern as last week!! I thought they were closed and went to the next restaurant. (laughs) The sushi was delicious as expected, tuna, squid, eel, yellowtail, pike conger, green onion, plus two cucumber rolls and miso soup for only 950 yen, so cheap! I added a fire roll and more sushi. The cucumber rolls were surprisingly delicious, so I ordered more. I've never thought cucumber rolls could be this tasty.

Lunch at Tenkacha-ya. I wanted to have a drink and some fish. This popular restaurant serves lunch. I walked under the curtain of this shop in Minami-Namba. It was a bit cold that day, but my throat was dry. Let's start by quenching my thirst with a bottle of beer. The place was being run by a single person, so even just taking lunch orders seemed busy. However, they efficiently served customers one after another. In between, I had some sushi and sipped on sake. The sushi was small and easy to eat, with delicious toppings. You can choose each piece individually. I'm not a big fan of seafood, so being able to eat one piece at a time is really convenient for me. I tend to list a lot of things I don't like when asked about course meals or lunch sets, so being able to eat one piece at a time is really helpful. I had a bottle of beer, hot sake, and 9 pieces of sushi for 2750 yen. I was very satisfied. The tamago (egg) they served as a service was also delicious! I definitely want to come back to this place. I happily headed to Tenma alone.

I visited a sushi restaurant called "Etchu-ya Higashino" located inside Nankai Tenkachaya Station for the first time. The head chef, Mr. Higashino, trained at another restaurant called "Etchu-ya" in the same area and opened his own place here about 3 years ago. They offer a good value for sushi. Items I tried: - Amberjack - Tuna - Conger eel - Blackthroat seaperch - Small fin - Swordtip squid - Golden eye snapper - Kawahagi (filefish) - Eel - Sea urchin - Green onion - Red miso soup with egg - Negitoro roll - Highball - Sake "Katano Sakura" from Osaka - Sake "Tateyama" from Toyama The restaurant only has a counter with 7 seats. Among the dishes I tried that day, the blackthroat seaperch and kawahagi were exceptionally delicious. I would like to visit again. A sushi restaurant with good value for money.

I visited Sushi Koshuchuya in Tenma Chaya, Osaka for the first time! It was about a 5-minute walk from Tenma Chaya Station. My boyfriend made a reservation for us, so we were able to get in smoothly! Since it's quite a popular place, I recommend making a reservation. We ordered a la carte from the menu. I wonder if they have a course menu too? The ingredients were very fresh and everything was delicious! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quite local and very cozy! I would love to go back for a quick meal again. Cheap, delicious, and the taste is amazing! The shop is located to the right after passing through the Tenkachaya Station South Gate shop. You might miss it if you don't look carefully. By the way, you can see the takeout shop Echuya on the left. The shop is run by one person, so it may take some time, but the taste is top-notch! It's different from conveyor belt sushi or casual sushi restaurants. There are only 7 seats, so if it's full, be prepared to wait patiently (laughs). If you want to avoid waiting, go before the opening at 12 o'clock.

Dreamy Weekday Lunch Part 3 It's been a while since the last time, but here is the continuation of the Dreamy Weekday Lunch Part 1 and Part 2. I went to "Koshinoya" located under the elevated tracks at Tenkachaya Station on the Nankai Main Line for lunch sushi. It's a great deal at 950 yen for lunch, including a chef's choice of seven pieces of sushi, tamago, and hosomaki. It even comes with red miso soup for that price. The lunch set is really worth it. Also, there's something even more exciting - the recommended five-piece sushi set for 1000 yen. You just need to inform the chef of what you don't like, and he will prepare the recommended pieces for the day one by one. The "hotate" and "unagi" in the lunch sushi were delicious, but the highlight of the day was probably the "nodoguro aburi" in the recommended five-piece set. The salted "anago" was also amazing. I always get too full with the hosomaki, so I usually offer it to the person next to me. Overall, it was a delightful meal, and I will definitely go back again.
