Black-haired wagyu beef omakase course with all-you-can-drink alcohol for under 5000 yen! The cost performance is unbelievable at the must-book yakiniku restaurant "Yakiniku Meikoen" where both the quantity and quality are top-notch, as confirmed by gourmet friends. I finally got to visit this place that I've always wanted to go to, and it was simply amazing. I almost don't want to tell anyone about this wonderful restaurant. Located about a 10-minute walk from Umeda Station, in the "Udaganocho area" where accommodation facilities and unique dining establishments are clustered, the restaurant has a dark exterior but inside, it is bright and bustling with many customers. With seating for 30, reservations are recommended for groups of two or more. There doesn't seem to be a menu for meat, so we ordered the omakase course and started with salad and kimchi. The meat show is about to begin...!
- Harami suji
Beautiful "Harami suji" with a firm texture. Satisfying to eat. The beer just keeps flowing. And the surprising thing here is the price of the alcohol. Prices have remained the same since the restaurant opened. Beer for 98 yen, Chuhai for 200 yen, which is an unbelievable pricing for the Umeda area. It's a dream for drinkers.
- Namase mai
Refreshing and delicious. The crunchy texture is also good.
- Gyutan
Gyutan is always delicious. Full of umami.
- Megane
A new cut called "Megane". It's meat around the pelvic area. Cooked boldly, it develops a crevice. Cut with scissors and finished. Place it on top of hot rice with wasabi and it's just amazing. The rice and alcohol just keep coming...
- Horumon assortment
Here comes the horumon. All of them are delicious.
- Akami assortment
The main dish is an assortment of lean cuts. Special Kalbi, Harami, loin, and hangeshita are piled up like a mountain. The Harami is quite large and requires quite a bit of strength to lift, which is quite impactful. It's so big that it barely fits, which is impressive. Cut after grilling, just like before, and enjoyed on rice, it's heavenly. The meat quality is really good. Not too greasy with plenty of fat, you could eat it endlessly.
- Tantara and Yukke
Although the course was supposed to end with the lean cuts assortment, we agreed to the owner's question of "Would you like to add more?". Tantara and Yukke arrived. Even though we were already full, if it's delicious, it surprisingly fits in the stomach.
- Korean cold noodles
Finishing off with vinegar added generously is recommended. It removes the greasiness of the meat eaten so far.
- Curry Bibimbap
The restaurant's specialty "Curry Bibimbap". It's hot until the end. The minced meat is just right. I was a bit scared of the bill after drinking 4.5 drinks and ordering additional meat, but it was 19,800 yen for 4 people! That's less than 5000 yen per person, which is an absurdly low price considering the quality and quantity of the meat. Even though the beer is 98 yen, the pricing is unbelievable. And the owner's attention to detail is top-notch. Just when I was thinking about getting a refill, he would ask "Another serving?" every time. It's like he can read our minds. There's nothing wrong with this place. I will definitely come back again!
