This is a sushi restaurant located near the entrance of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station on the Hanzomon Line, along Kiyosu Bridge Street. Recently, I have been more conscious of my health and seeking out healthy dishes, so I decided to visit a sushi restaurant that I rarely go to. The lunch menu was displayed on a sign outside the restaurant, and even though it was a bit pricey, at 1,000 yen, I felt comfortable entering. The restaurant has a counter with 10 seats, three 4-person tatami tables, and possibly more seating on the second floor. The chairs at sushi restaurants are usually wooden, but here they were cushioned club-like chairs that didn't quite match the atmosphere. There was the husband and wife owners, along with a lively head waitress who added a unique touch to the place. I was a bit hungry, so I ordered 1.5 servings of nigiri (1,000 yen). The husband skillfully prepared the nigiri while the head waitress started making nori rolls next to him. She would constantly make suggestions to the husband, who would react with a slight annoyance each time, which made for an entertaining exchange. The head waitress, who couldn't keep her thoughts to herself, later engaged in casual conversation with the customers in the tatami area. The nigiri included tuna, fatty tuna, octopus, sea bream, squid, sweet shrimp, Pacific saury, cod roe, egg, and dried gourd roll. They may not have looked impressive, but each piece of sushi was generously sized. They were all delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the Pacific saury nigiri, which was a first for me. The head waitress's dried gourd roll had a subtle sweetness that was delightful. The miso soup contained plenty of clams, giving it a rich umami flavor. A rare salad was included with the sushi, consisting of lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and corn dressed in sesame dressing. Additionally, dessert was served, which was a persimmon, likely the first of the season. Regular customers spread out horse racing newspapers and listened to the radio while engaging in horse racing discussions with the husband, which didn't create the best atmosphere. However, the head waitress's presence managed to overshadow this, adding a unique charm to the restaurant.
