Located in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, the popular spot "CLAMP COFFEE SARASA" is currently ranked 474th in the "Kyoto Prefecture" ranking on Tabelog with a score of 3.64 out of approximately 21,000 establishments. In the "Kyoto Prefecture [Cafes]" ranking, it is ranked 50th. I visited for breakfast. The shop is located to the east of JR "Nijo Station". It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the station. Upon arrival at the shop, I entered. At around 10:08 on a holiday, there were about 7 groups of customers already inside. The not particularly spacious interior was bustling with many customers. Before being seated, I placed my order and made the payment. This time, I ordered a "Hot Coffee" for 500 yen (tax included) and chose the fruity "Ethiopia" blend. I also added a piece of toast, bringing the total to 900 yen. There were no morning service or set menu options. I took a seat at the counter near the entrance. The counter in front of the kitchen was not very relaxing. ~Order~ ● Hot Coffee 500 yen (tax included) ● Honey Toast 400 yen (tax included) After a short wait, my drink arrived followed by the toast. The toast and coffee were delicious. I enjoyed the mild bitterness and acidity of the coffee, which had a good mouthfeel and perfect temperature, along with the toast generously drizzled with honey. The fact that the toast was "thick-cut" left an impression. Furthermore, a variety of side menu items are a feature of this shop. You can order light snacks to suit your preferences. Cheese toast and cakes are likely to be popular choices as well. This cafe suggests a rich life with coffee, providing relaxation and comfort in busy daily life. It would be even better if seating arrangements could avoid customers sitting very close to each other. Avoiding the current "crowded" situation would improve comfort. "100 Selected Restaurants" have been chosen from highly rated establishments by Tabelog users in each genre. "CLAMP COFFEE SARASA" has been selected as one of the "Tabelog Cafe Top 100 2021". It has received praise such as, "If you want to encounter something delicious now, this is a place you can't miss." While the rating may be slightly generous, I want to evaluate the strong customer base, popularity, friendly staff, maintaining a good atmosphere, and providing a comfortable non-smoking space. "CLAMP COFFEE SARASA" has a charm that makes you want to take photos all over the place inside.

I had some errands in the neighborhood and came across this restaurant when I was looking for a nice place to eat. I was a bit confused about where the entrance was, but this area is filled with miscellaneous shops and plant stores, creating a stylish atmosphere. The excitement of finding the door tucked away a bit further inside. I visited around 12:00 on a Sunday and there was one couple waiting outside. It felt quite hot waiting, but we were able to get inside relatively quickly. Perhaps not many people come here for lunch. Upon entering, we placed our order at the counter. The menu consisted of French toast, cinnamon toast, pizza toast, and other toast options, as well as sweets. I ordered the bacon and egg toast with a coffee. The coffee had different options, and I chose the Guatemalan one. The total came to 1,100 yen. After a short wait, the coffee and toast were served. The coffee had a delightful flavor! The bacon and egg toast was served on a nicely toasted bread with a glossy scrambled egg on top, looking beautiful. When I cut into it, the crisp sound was appetizing. While the menu may not offer traditional breakfast items, the delicious coffee, the antique charm surrounded by greenery, pleasant jazz music, all made for a relaxing experience. If you're in the neighborhood, you might want to come here to unwind occasionally. The customers were mostly Western tourists. They may not be accustomed to Japanese ingredients, and perhaps they just find comfort in toast and coffee. It would be nice if the place were a bit more spacious and easier to enter.

The cheese toast for ¥550 with honey topping for ¥100 and hot coffee for ¥500 at Clamp Coffee Sarasa in Nijo. It's located down a path in the back alley. The place is surrounded by greenery and has a very nice atmosphere!! Since it was a weekday morning, there were fewer customers and I could relax and enjoy my time! I tried the cheese toast that is commonly seen, with honey topping. It was incredibly delicious... The thick slices of bread were generously topped with cheese and honey, making it look so tempting. The cheese had a salty flavor that paired perfectly with the honey! It was delicious~ They offer around 5 types of coffee beans to choose from, and I went for the dark roast Mandheling. It had a rich flavor that complemented the cheese toast~!!! I loved the ambiance of the place so much, and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. It's recommended to spend time reading a book or something similar there^^

I dropped by for a casual tea. Upon entering, I placed my order and paid. Since there was someone else who had ordered before me, I wasn't allowed to wait inside even though it was very hot outside. I usually only drink hot beverages, but it was too hot, so I ordered a lemon squash. I also ordered a seasonal juice, which was ginger and lime juice that day. I also ordered French toast and pumpkin cake. The result... I'm glad I chose the lemon squash! It was delicious!! Not too sweet, not too sour, easy to drink and refreshing! The French toast was nicely soaked and you could taste the original flavor of the bread. The pumpkin cake didn't have a strong pumpkin flavor, but it was tasty! The seating options are either large tables for sharing or a counter. This time, I shared a large table with someone else. If you come as a pair, you are asked to sit side by side, so you end up sitting facing someone you don't know. Although the table is large, it's not that big, so you can feel a bit close to the person across from you. If possible, sitting at the counter might have been better. Also, they didn't mention anything, but the water was self-service. It was quietly placed at the edge of the table.

Located not far from Nijo Station, this restaurant feels like a hidden base with a handmade vibe, accessed through a back alley that resembles a factory. The entrance is filled with plants. I ordered the "Lime Ginger Ale with grated ginger and White Chocolate Brownie (Caramel Banana Pancake)" and enjoyed it at my table. The secret base may be a dream come true for many men, but it was a fun experience. Thank you for the delicious meal and great service.

While waiting on the bench outside, we heard a sound coming from inside the restaurant. Curious, my friend and I went in to find they were roasting coffee beans. Despite the heat outside, I ordered a lemon squash. The drink was topped with plenty of lemons that turned into pulp as time passed, keeping it enjoyable until the last drop! On the way out, I couldn't resist getting some coffee beans, choosing Ethiopian beans from the five varieties available. The freshly roasted beans had a rich aroma and tasted delicious at home! I definitely want to go back for coffee next time! They have a bicycle parking area. 🚴♀️

Arrived at 10:45 and had to wait for about 4 groups. The place is about a 5-minute walk from Nijo Station East Exit. Waited for about 30 minutes and entered at 11:15. Ordered first and sat down. Due to the crowd, we were told that the seating time is about 1 hour. That's why many customers were leaving around 11:00. ▼Ordered Drip Coffee Ice for 550 yen, Pizza Toast for 700 yen, Apple and Walnut Cake for 580 yen. Coffee was served at 11:45, and the Pizza Toast at 11:50. It took too long for the service considering it's on a 1-hour limit. When ordering the cake, I was asked if it's okay to serve it together, but since it didn't come out at all, I had to ask for it and they hurriedly brought it out. ▼Pizza Toast was loaded with ingredients, the crispy onions added sweetness. The thick toast was chewy inside and crispy outside, very delicious! ▼Apple and Walnut Cake was a cinnamon-flavored apple cake with a nice texture from the walnuts. The apple slices were chunky. It was quite satisfying. By the time I left, it was quite empty and no more lines. Mornings seem to be particularly busy. I recommend going in the morning with some extra time.

Stylish cafe surrounded by greenery in front of Nijo Castle in Kyoto, "CLAMP COFFEE SARASA" ❤︎ This place feels like stepping into a Ghibli world and has been selected as one of the top 100 cafes in 2021 and 2022. I ordered a Ginger Lime Soda at the entrance of the cafe, where you order and pay. It was a perfect summer drink with a balance of sweetness and the slight bitterness of ginger ☺︎ Although I was curious about other food items on the menu, I had to give up this time due to summer fatigue... I'll definitely come back for a rematch next time I visit Nijo! (There's also a bakery I want to visit in Nijo♪) Thank you for the meal!

Opening the door instantly transports you into a nostalgic world. The retro interior filled with jazz creates a movie-like otherworldly space. Today, they were roasting, and the rich toasty aroma of freshly roasted beans was incredibly pleasant. I hoped it would cling to my clothes, but unfortunately it didn't. Along with buying beans, I had a glass of iced coffee.
◉Ethiopia Light Roast...300g
◉Guatemala Medium Roast...300g
⚫︎Iced Coffee...(Mandelin)...Dark Roast
The iced coffee was quite dark as I prefer a clean taste, sipping it slowly to savor the elegant deep aroma. I really like this atmosphere. I wished I could stay longer, but closing time was approaching, so I left. Looking forward to the next visit. m(_ _)m

The restaurant is located in a quiet and relaxing space, tucked away in a hard-to-find location. I had the Pumpkin Loaf, which was said to be spicy, but it turned out to be very delicious cake and not too overpowering.

Visited at the opening. The French toast comes with vanilla ice cream. It goes well together. Even the coffee. It turned out to be a good breakfast. Most customers were speaking English, making it feel like being overseas. Everyone seemed to be ordering bacon and egg toast.

【Cafe Top 100 2022】I came here wanting to enjoy a light brunch and coffee, but it's almost lunchtime. The location is a bit hard to find, but there's a line forming. As I wait in line, it keeps extending further back. It seems there's also inbound demand. The shop covered in greenery plays lively jazz music from inside. It has a natural taste world view. The prominent roasting machine resembling a locomotive in the back catches the eye. The sunlight filtering through the windows is pleasantly bright. Orders are prepaid.【Order】● Ethiopian coffee (light roast) The coffee is easy to drink. As someone who prefers medium-light roasts, I found the taste to be light with not much acidity. But, I realized that this delicate taste of gentle coffee is enjoyable in its own way. A clean and gentle flavor. I also bought some beans. All beans are priced at 650 yen per 100g, which is very reasonable. I purchased 300g of Ethiopian light roast and 200g of Guatemalan medium-light. (They adjusted the price to 620 yen per 100g for purchases over 300g) ○ French toast The only food available here is various toasts. I chose the French toast. To my delight, it came with ice cream. I absolutely love topping the fluffy sweet French toast with vanilla ice cream. I also ordered a cafe latte and bacon and egg toast. It feels so comfortable being here. It's clear why it's popular. It's nice to enjoy some me-time while sipping on coffee. Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m

I came to a popular cafe near Nijo Castle. I arrived just after 11:30 to avoid the crowds. Still had to wait 45 minutes. Finally got seated at 12:15. It's really a popular place! Ordered and paid in advance. Payment is possible with PayPay. ▼Order・Honey Toast 420 yen・Roasted green tea and adzuki bean cheesecake 600 yen・Homemade lemonade 650 yen・Cafe au lait 600 yenThe order arrived after a 15-minute wait. The lemonade and honey toast were really delicious. I wonder where they get their honey from... It was so good that I want to eat it at home. I highly recommend both. The wait was worth it. However, you can't relax here, so you need to have enough time to wait before coming. Thanks for the meal.

The interior has only about 15 seats, so it's small. There are fewer chairs than tables, so it feels spacious. I ordered lemonade, and it was delicious! The interior and the staff are stylish, and I definitely want to come back again!

The honey toast was sweet and delicious. It was my first time eating honey toast with a knife and fork. It was thick and sweet, making me think, "Of course it is." In fact, all the past customers who enjoyed it were foreigners, except for me, which made it awkward. They accept payment through a mobile payment app, but the availability of Wi-Fi is unclear. The restaurant is non-smoking.

In Kyoto's Nijo area, there's a cafe called Clump Coffee Sarasa. The exterior covered in ivy gives off a Ghibli-like vibe, very soothing. The interior has a tasteful old-fashioned feel, making it very cozy. Visited around 3 p.m. on a Sunday and the place was fully booked, with two groups waiting. The turnover is quick, and we were seated inside within about 15 minutes. The master is quiet but very considerate. Started off at a small counter, but when a window seat opened up, we were kindly offered to move there. What a delight. Enjoying a cafe latte while admiring the flowers and plants outside the window is the epitome of relaxation. It was heavenly. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

At the time of posting: It's about a 5-minute walk from Chiroru 3.66, but I got lost because I couldn't find the way. I arrived at the restaurant at 13:35. Upon entering, it seems that you have to order first, so I ordered an iced coffee and honey toast. There were various types of coffee, and the staff recommended a Mandheling with a rich and bitter taste. After paying, I was told to choose any seat, and there were 2 other customers. I sat at a spacious table seat. About 10 minutes later, when everything was served, I realized that I had ordered iced coffee but was served hot coffee, so I asked for an exchange. Both the coffee and honey toast were delicious. Thank you for the meal. When going to the restaurant, please note that the alley leading to the restaurant is hard to find.

On the last day of using the JR Pass, I indulged in food terrorism mainly at famous restaurants in Kyoto. I rented a bicycle from Kyoto Station and first explored the area around Nijo Station. It was a bit difficult to find the restaurant, but I managed to get there by following the photos. I initially ordered a hot coffee and cinnamon toast, but after seeing a customer order cheese toast, I changed my order to that. It was delicious as usual, and the atmosphere was reminiscent of an old Japanese house. Thank you for the meal.

When I searched for a highly rated cafe in this area, this place came up! It's nice how it's a bit hidden away down a small alley, giving it a cozy feel. The interior is fantastical! The way the light shines in is lovely. I ordered an iced coffee! Next to where I sat, there was a large roasting machine. Maybe they roast their own beans. The iced coffee had a relatively light taste. Thank you for the meal.

Order Details:
- Cheese Toast (550 yen): It was toast of decent quality. There wasn't much to differentiate it from toast at other places, but considering the price, I thought it was reasonable.
- Drip Coffee, Hot (500 yen)
