Osaka Temma "Tora-ya Temma" ~ Visiting Tora-ya... from Funabashi to JR to Keisei to the main store and then to Temma, three times ~ "I don't need to repay my old nest" but I still came to see the cherry blossoms this year (laughs) and it reminded me of the insulting forced silent prayer to Abe... Personally, I hated the two goals by Natsuo in spring, which ultimately made the difference between winning 0 or 1 point, so I came to Temma for a reflection meeting. As of 5:41 pm on April 1st: JR Kobe Line: A signal to urgently stop a train was received when a person entered the tracks near Tsukamoto Station on the freight line, causing a JR Osaka Loop Line train to stop in the catenary switching section for catenary confirmation. As a result, the JR Osaka Loop Line trains are delayed... #JR West Japan #Osaka Loop Line https://t.co/r3CyDW7tqCpic.twitter.com/KxuUWAxIeu - JR West Japan Train Operation Information (Loop, Yamatoji, and Hanwa Lines) [Official] (@jrwest_kinki_op) April 1, 2023 At times like this?! Even though the game had ended, the train was delayed, which is the away team's baptism (seriously, isn't it?) I was lucky that the shop was still open as I was asking Tarshi about the situation in Funabashi. It was 7:00 pm. The waitress said, "This is the last one," apologetically, and I said, "There's still this much left," and did a little dance. In my mind, this place feels like "Tora-ya Keisei Store," so I persistently ordered something I don't usually eat, "stewed dish" (lol). Stewed dish (380 yen), Ume-wari 1 (380 yen), Kikushikushi, written as Kikushi

I had been curious about this place for a while. When I arrived, there was a line, so I went to another shop first to warm up. I waited for the line to calm down before entering. It seems there are various detailed rules. I was told off for being a little too loud. I didn't think I was being that noisy, but I guess people lose their sense of normalcy when they have alcohol. The motsu-yaki (grilled offal) was delicious.

I visited the Tenma area after enjoying some sweet treats (shaved ice) at the Umeda Hankyu Department Store event. It felt like the Monzen-Nakacho area in Tokyo, with lots of izakayas lining the backstreets. About 10 years ago, I used to hop between three izakayas in Tenma when I had some spare time. According to Tabelog, the restaurant opened in 2015, which explains why I had never been there before. The restaurant is right in front of JR Tenma Station. I arrived around 7:20 PM, just before closing time, and ordered two dishes and bottled beer. - Bottled Beer: I had Sapporo Beer's Red Star. It has been sold mainly at standing bars for a long time, and its rarity adds to its appeal. It had a great refreshing taste, and I enjoyed it. - Kikuhormone: This dish is a type of small intestine with a lot of fat, giving it a sweet and fatty flavor that goes well with beer. - Simmered Miso: This dish was simmered in miso sauce, with no unpleasant smell and a refreshing taste. Even though we only ordered two dishes, the total cost was only 1,500 yen, which was enough for two people to enjoy a light meal. Tenma is truly amazing.

On this day, I left work early with a random excuse and headed to this place in the evening around 4 o'clock on a weekday. It was crowded as expected, but I was able to get a table for one right away. I ordered simmered beef tongue, raw beef tongue, raw beef intestines, boiled beef heart, two drinks, and the total was 2,380 yen. The simmered dish had a light flavor, making it easy to eat. The raw beef tongue had a chewy texture and a delicious taste unique to beef tongue. The raw beef intestines were a bit soft in texture, with the flavor of green onions standing out. The boiled beef heart had a nice rareness to it and was very satisfying. The portion size of each dish was larger than I expected, and I ended up ordering too many raw dishes, so I couldn't try any grilled dishes this time. I would like to try more grilled dishes next time.

When you arrive in Senmachi and Temma, you have to visit this place... I know it might be frowned upon because I just checked and it's been updated a lot recently. Seriously though, the food here is really delicious and can compete with the real deal around Noge. I want to convey to everyone the idea that Osaka is not at all inferior to Tokyo when it comes to food culture. So, I feel lonely wondering why this place is not getting more attention... Is it because it's cheap? Or because it's pork? No way, this is a top-notch place that you should visit first. Stayed for 15 minutes, had Hoppy Black, the ultimate boiled liver, boiled tendons, and grilled liver. Around 1600 yen in total. It was fantastic as always. Thank you, miss. I know it might seem intimidating, but for those who want to go, contact mafu. Oh, I forgot to mention the socks part, haha. Delicious. The best!

On the day when I was experiencing a Yanya-san addiction, I happened to see a review from Mairebi-san, and I thought that people who share the same taste must have some kind of ESP-like shared sensor (not really, haha). Now, I usually aim to go there at 3 pm when they open, but since I can't finish work by then, my target is 4 pm. You might think that it's easy to go at 4 pm on a weekday, but no, in my mind, Tenma is the holy land of daytime drinking in Osaka, so it's not that simple. This day, there was already a customer ahead of me, so I had to wait a few minutes. If you're wondering if there's usually a line, if you go early with just one or two people, you can probably get in without much of a wait. There's also a rule that groups of 4 or more are not allowed to enter, and groups of 3 or more are not particularly welcomed, probably because regular customers want to drink quietly without too much noise and rowdiness from larger groups. I imagine that in the past, there may have been incidents where a group got too rowdy and it escalated. It's been mentioned in previous reviews that the high threshold for newcomers or those unfamiliar with the place, but I still love this place! The service from the staff, including the waitresses, is top-notch. Beef tongue, harami, Tenma highball, and more. The bill came to around 2000 yen. It's just too good! No need for fancy words, let's just enjoy it! As delicious as ever~

Today, I didn't have much of an appetite for lunch at the Nakanu site again. I skipped lunch, planning to drink on the way back since I was taking the train. I finished around 3 pm and was thinking of strolling around the building in front of the station, but for some reason, I ended up walking all the way to Temma! I thought a cold drink would taste great after the heat, and I arrived without feeling tired! It was just before 4 pm, and there was no line! When I entered, there were four other customers sitting at the corner of the L-shaped counter. The hostess, or maybe the owner, took my order. I said I wanted a highball, and she asked if I wanted whiskey or shochu. I chose shochu! Then, she quickly recommended the stewed dishes like tendon stew. I went with the stew! The highball base and carbonated water arrived. The Oreo curry was delicious! It was worth holding out. The stewed dish arrived with well-cooked hormone, and I'm not sure which part it was. Sprinkling seven spice made it even more delicious. I added grilled heart in vinegar and grilled liver with sauce. The grilled heart in vinegar was delicious! It was boiled, but I'm not sure why it was on a skewer. I wish the vinegar had a bit more kick. The grilled liver with sauce was also delicious! It was juicy with a nice chewy texture. I would have been happier if there was some hot mustard. I found out that the restaurant I wanted to visit opened at 5 pm, so I remembered the flour set my wife bought at the supermarket yesterday. It was getting noisy at home, so I had to eat it... It was a bit of an anticlimax, but I headed home after just one place. Thank you for the meal.

Located just a 1-minute walk from Temma Station, this yakiton (grilled pork) restaurant boasts the best location. While there is usually a long line, we were able to get in without much of a wait due to the rain. It is a standing-only restaurant. We ordered motsu stew, boiled heart, harami (skirt steak), and hormone skewers (380 yen per plate, two skewers). It is recommended to go early as some items may sell out. Each dish was incredibly fresh and lacked any unpleasant smell. It seemed like they took great care in preparing the meat. The portions were generous, and we ended up ordering too much. The quality and price at this location near the station are fantastic. Including a glass of draft beer, the total came to around 2700 yen. We spent about 30 minutes there. Thank you for the meal!

I went to a restaurant in the Inspire district with a company colleague. I'm not sure what the Inspire district is...it seems to be in Tokyo. I really want to know more...I'm so curious. Unfortunately, some items were sold out, so I ended up trying traditional dishes like goldfish.

Sujini (beef sinew) and Harami (skirt steak). A rare yakitori restaurant in front of JR Temma Station in Kansai. When entering the shop, you are asked if you want sujini or simmered dish, I ordered sujini. For drinks, I had a draft beer. The draft beer was ice-cold. The sujini was soft and delicious. I sprinkled shichimi spice on it and enjoyed. I also ordered Harami as an extra. It was also exquisite. Among all the yakitori I have eaten, it was one of the best. I am happy to be able to eat such delicious yakitori in Osaka. #yakitori

I walked 12 minutes from Tsugudake, and decided to go drinking with my friends. We took the Kishu Rapid train from Last Temma to Kii-Tanabe, and then I just relaxed. However, we couldn't avoid the long line at Tora-ya with only two people. Kei guided us to CT, where we had our usual Hoppy Shiro and luckily there was still some Tanuki vinegar left. The grilled dishes were also perfect, especially the "Hatsu." But from that point on, my memory is completely unreliable. When I looked at the pictures later, I saw that we had ordered more plum wine and "Hatsu," but I have no recollection of it. I don't remember paying the bill either, and I even ended up taking the train multiple times and somehow ended up at Kansai Airport. The only clear memory I have is eating ice cream on the dark platform of Nagatake Station on the Hanwa Line. I should have been home by 7 pm if I went straight back, but I actually got home around 10 pm. I have no idea what I was doing during that time. I need to start being more careful... (*´ω`*)

From Hanchan's place to Tora-ya♪ At 6:00 pm, the area in front of Temma Station is crowded with mostly young people, a scene that was unimaginable just a few months ago. But that's how it should be in Temma, or rather in a drinking district, right? When I see the line in front of the station (Oh! It's only 3 people now!), I can't help but laugh. Of course, we join the line and wait for about 10 minutes before Kei-chan urges us to enter the store. I order a Tenma Highball. Three hours have passed since the store opened at 3:00 pm, and most of the main dishes are already sold out, a sign of its continued popularity. The only options left are Wakka Salt and Teppou Salt, but that's still good enough! I enjoy the chewiness of the Wakka and the richness of the Teppou, but the grilled pork belly as the finale feels quite heavy on the stomach... Here it comes... Next time, I'll definitely have to line up again, but I'll make sure to come with an empty stomach. Cheers!

I recommend a standing bar in Temma that I often visit. It's hard to find the right timing due to long lines or opening hours. Today is a mini alumni gathering from work and I handled the reservation. Thanks to online booking, making changes is no problem at all. We arrived a little early and were able to get in. We had simmered dish, giblets, and hearts with sauce, along with two lemon sours. It cost 1520 yen. The giblets were a bit tough for one person. Next, I want to try Hoppy and plum sour from Kinmiya, focusing on skewered dishes. It's a nice standing bar.

It's a traditional standing bar, yakitori place. It has a retro feel, like something out of a Showa-era drama, with walls stained with oil and a female owner who gives off a typical Osaka mom vibe. I visited just before 7 pm during the later part of Golden Week, and the place was bustling and full. After a short wait, I got in and was shown a memo that said, "We only have this left for today!" I had no idea what part of the meat it was. The owner, who was managing the whole place alone, seemed really busy, but she was happy to explain. The Gatsu hormone and green onions with sesame oil were incredibly delicious! There were hardly any skewers left, so I'd like to go back earlier next time and try more variety. I really liked the vibe of this place.

I stopped by a restaurant for a quick lunch drink on a weekend afternoon when I passed by the front of the shop for the first time in a while and it seemed like I could enter without waiting. The shop has a nice quick atmosphere where you are asked for your drink as soon as you enter, and you can enjoy affordable menu items such as motsu-yaki and simmered dishes. Popular items like motsu-ni and boiled heart often sell out, along with the classic delicious motsu-yaki and harami skewers to accompany beer or highballs for a daytime drink at Toraya. Starting your engine quickly at Toraya and heading to the second or third bar is also recommended at this popular spot in the Temma area.

Tora-ya Tenmangu is located right in front of the station! It's easy to access. The menu is similar to Kanto, but they have beef tendons which are typical of Kansai. The sashimi and grilled dishes are very well done. The simmered dish seemed a bit overcooked and was a little disappointing. This place is the most expensive at 380 yen flat rate among the ones I've been to. I guess it's because the rent is the highest in front of the station? Thank you for the meal.

Tora-ya in Chiba Narita is said to be related to a well-known restaurant. We decided to go for a quick drink since we already had plans. They open at 3pm and don't take reservations. It seems like many motsu-yaki restaurants have their own unique rules. This one is no exception. I didn't realize smoking was allowed, and when someone nearby started smoking, we had to leave immediately. Smoking-friendly places are tough for non-smokers. It was our mistake to choose a smoking paradise. [Service] The female staff here seem to have mixed reviews, as they tend to take control without much regard for the customers. It's best to just follow their instructions, even if it feels impersonal. [Rules] - Start by ordering a drink - Don't order any food until the staff asks (skewers, grilled items) - Go alone or with one other person and eat quietly - Only take photos of the food [Impressions] Compared to "Soya" in Mita, Tokyo, where I used to work, the freshness here is lacking. It's best to go in pairs as the skewers come in sets of two. I recommend trying the popular "hatsu boil" and "tongue sashimi". The grilled items were a bit too burnt and bitter for my liking. We had two drinks each, and it cost around 1500 yen. Considering the service, smoking allowance, standing drinking, freshness, pork motsu, and the wait, I think I'll go to "Wafu Motsu Ryori Arata" in Nishinakajima Minamigata, known for its fresh beef motsu dishes.

JR Loop Line, Temma Station. After a long time, I visited Tora-ya. To cut to the chase, "When it comes to grilled pork in Osaka, there's nothing that can beat this place!" It had been a year and 8 months since my last visit. Why such a long gap? The answer is simple - "It's always crowded." I had to wait for 10 minutes to get in at 7 pm. I was prepared for some items to be sold out at this time, but luckily they still had my favorites - liver with vinegar, pork belly, chicken cartilage, and beef tongue. I started with a glass of Hoppy (white) and enjoyed the freshly grilled skewers that kept coming one after another. Oh, I forgot that they come in sets of two. Maybe I ordered too much, but it all fit in my stomach just fine. I also added a plum cocktail midway. The chicken cartilage had a good texture, the pork belly had a perfect balance of fat, and the beef tongue was juicy. The generous portion size of each skewer was a pleasant surprise. I finished with a Tenba Highball. I might have had a bit too much to drink considering I have plans later, but I thoroughly enjoyed my long-awaited visit to Tora-ya.

I always feel like going to Tora-ya Tenma again and again. This time, I was drawn in once more. Luckily, we were able to enter without waiting around 6 pm on a weekday, and we ordered the raw liver, simmered liver, liver boil, gatsu sashimi, liver tare, abura tare, and nankotsu salt. The liver boil is truly special. I feel like I can't eat it anywhere else. Everything else was delicious as well. Since there were two of us this time, it was nice to be able to order a variety of dishes. We also added a Tenba Highball and sagari butsu. The texture was good too. Finally, we had the heart boil and goldfish. The goldfish was spicy and delicious, especially since we were finishing the Kinmiya isshoubin. It was amazing once again this time.

Tora-ya Tenmangu-sama is a place you feel impulsive to visit. I had business in Nara and decided to get off at Tenmang. I started with sashimi and simmered dishes. Beef tongue sashimi, cartilage with salt, fatty tail, and Tenba highball. The fatty tail was surprisingly sweet. The salt goes well with the cartilage. It's common to refill the Tenba highball with a stronger mix. The atmosphere, combined with the hostess's presence, makes it the best restaurant.

Hello~ It's Sunday, right? I went to Taisho Station and had some questionable horumon (offal) there, then took the loop line back to Temma. There's a popular pork skewer and drinking place in Temma that I visited once before... but every time I tried to go after that, it was always full and I couldn't get in. This time, I arrived a bit late and managed to get a seat! Yay! Even though they were sold out of a lot of things, it was totally okay. The sharp and efficient Kanto-style older sister took our order - a large bottle of Akahoshi beer, shiro (white) with salt, and hatsu (heart) with sauce. She asked if we wanted to eat while waiting for the grilled items to be ready, but I said "no thanks"... I always end up saying that when asked if I want to eat while waiting. I'm a stubborn type B. It's been a while since I had pork skewers! They were so delicious, especially the extra fat I added later. A regular customer recommended that the seasoning is the way to go, and the staff will recommend the best seasoning for the specific cut you order. I should have asked for their recommendation... shiro seemed like it would be tastier with sauce rather than salt. I tried goldfish for the first time, a refreshing Kinmiya shochu with spicy chili-infused soda. It was really good! It goes so well with pork skewers! It's just so delicious! I want to come back again... actually, I want to come here often. The simmered dishes also look delicious, so next time I'll try not to be stubborn and order the simmered dish too. Thank you!
