I arrived at the restaurant around 2:45 pm on a regular day. It was a late lunch. The place was on the B2F floor of Hankyu Department Store. Despite the time, there was already a group of 3 people waiting in line. While waiting, the staff came to take my order. I ordered the special selection Chateaubriand steak set, 170g (¥2200). Normally I prefer sirloin, but they recommended Chateaubriand fillet, so I decided to try it. About 15 minutes later, I was seated at a table inside the restaurant. They served homemade porcini mushroom salt on a black plate. You can choose salt from the Salt Menu, and they will bring it to you in a small cup. I asked for Peruvian Machu Picchu sea salt and Pakistani Himalayan black rock salt. The food arrived about 15 minutes after I sat down. It looked great! I tried a bite without anything on it. It was tender and delicious! When I tried it with the porcini mushroom salt, it was even more flavorful! The Peruvian Machu Picchu sea salt had large grains and was quite tasty. The Pakistani Himalayan black rock salt was also good. I think this one is fleur de sel. There were three sauces - Hermes sauce, fig sauce, and gold leaf sauce - each offering a different taste experience. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This is Bar Chika located in the basement of Hankyu Department Store. There is always a line. Since there are no names written, you have to line up in order. On this day, I chose the popular Chateaubriand lunch. The pink tonkatsu was so soft that it didn't seem like tonkatsu. They provide 3 types of sauces, and they also bring one type of salt in advance, but you can order salt from around the world if you prefer. The sauces were the best! Location: Near the escalator going up to the 2nd basement floor of Hankyu Department Store. I visited a little after 1 pm for lunch. Besides me, there were several ladies dining alone. Since there were limited seats, I had to wait for about 10 minutes. During that time, I received the menu from the staff, so I could decide what to eat (lol). This time, I ordered the classic pork cutlet set meal (I think it was 140g). It took a while for the food to arrive after ordering. The pork cutlet came in four pieces, and the staff recommended eating it with salt (I forgot what kind of salt, but it had a fancy name). Eating it with salt is definitely the way to go! The flavor of the meat stands out, and the right amount of fat melts in your mouth, making it very delicious. I also tried it with sauce for a different taste, but I feel like the pork cutlet shines on its own (though it's still very tasty with sauce!). The only downside is that the price matches the taste, so it's a bit on the expensive side. It was very delicious, but it cost around 1500 yen at the cheapest, so I think I'll go as a treat once in a while. (I think it said "no credit cards" on Tabelog, but I was able to use mine without any issues)

Last time I visited the store in Kitashinchi, and this time was my second visit. I couldn't forget the impact when I first tried it, so I came back. It was around 5 pm, so I could enter without waiting in line. The meat was so tender and really delicious. There are many types of salt to choose from, so as a salt lover, I was happy with the tonkatsu. However, it was delicious but for this price, I know other places that are better. You can't get seconds of rice either. Honestly, if I have the chance, I'd like to visit the main store in Kitashinchi.

This time, I ordered the loin and tenderloin of Chabuton pork. I was very satisfied because both the loin and tenderloin were delicious. There are several types of salt and sauces available, so you can eat according to your preference, but in the end, I always find myself liking the porcini mushroom salt the best. We waited about 1 hour with 8 groups ahead of us. It would be nice if we could write our names or get a numbered ticket and wait elsewhere instead of waiting on site. My husband and I ordered the 200g Rosukatsu set and the 170g Hirekatsu set. The low-temperature cooking method resulted in a white crispy coating and incredibly tender meat that we had never experienced before. The meat had a rare quality and was very delicious. There were 3 types of sauces and about 10 types of salt to choose from. We shared the Rosukatsu and Hirekatsu, and found the Rosukatsu to be a bit fatty for our liking, so eating the Hirekatsu with salt was the best option. It's a bit pricey, but the miso soup and tea were also delicious, so we would like to visit again.

I went to Umeda to eat tonkatsu. The loin was made from Chami pork. The Chateaubriand was made from Tokyo X pork. As expected, the Chateaubriand meat from Tokyo X was amazing. It was incredibly tender and the quality of the meat was top-notch. It was seasoned with carefully selected salt, which paired perfectly with it. I really enjoyed it. This is a tonkatsu specialty restaurant located in the gourmet zone of Hankyu Department Store B2F, next to Hankyu Bar Yokocho in Umeda. I visited on a Saturday night around 6 pm. The Bar Yokocho was quite crowded, and I was a bit worried as it seemed to be a popular place based on reviews on Tabelog. Surprisingly, when I entered, there were no customers. After a while, more than half of the tables were filled, but depending on the time, it might be a hidden gem. It had been a while since I had tonkatsu, and I wasn't familiar with the pork brand, so I ordered the popular menu item, "Today's special selection hirekatsu chateaubriand set 170g" (including tax 2,530 yen). I upgraded the miso soup to tonjiru for an additional 330 yen (total including tax 2,860 yen). The chateaubriand, as shown in the photos on Tabelog, looked very appetizing. When I put my chopsticks in, the crispy texture reminded me of the times I visited Narikura in Tokyo before it moved. Really, just looking at the photos, you can imagine the soft texture and the savory taste that hits you. I couldn't help but think, "Was tonkatsu always this delicious?" but well, this is not your ordinary tonkatsu, right? Considering the long lines I always encountered at Narikura, being able to enjoy this tonkatsu without waiting (I'm not sure about the usual situation) and at this price is truly valuable. I would definitely like to visit the main store in Kitashinchi.

Visited before noon on a regular day. I was wandering around without knowing what to do, and the staff noticed and called out to me. This person also noticed and greeted the people who came later. There were two groups waiting before me. There were 6 seats available for waiting, so I could sit down and wait. People passing by were saying things like "This place is famous, isn't it?" or "It's not crowded today." While waiting, they also took my order. I was seated about 20 minutes after I started waiting. I ordered the 170g pork loin set meal. The pork loin was light and I could eat it without feeling heavy. Three types of special salt and sauce were served together, but there is a special salt menu, so they will bring it if you ask. Since I didn't know the difference in salt, the first one was delicious enough for me. I needed more rice, so I paid extra for a refill. It's rare to have to pay for rice refills during lunch. My impression is that "it's delicious, but not particularly great value for the price." Especially for those who feel that the North Shinchi store is high-end, I think it's worth coming here first to taste it. Being in the basement of a department store, it's not an atmosphere where you can relax and spend time. The staff were efficient and their consideration was wonderful.

On this day, I had plans in Umeda starting at 1:00 PM, so around 11:40 AM I decided to try my luck and peeked into the restaurant. There was a line of about 10 people! I decided to join the line, thinking that maybe I could make it in time. I was able to be seated in about 20 minutes. I had already ordered the Chateaubriand set meal and a beer, so I met with the dish in about 5 minutes. I moistened my throat with the beer, took a bite of the fillet, and thought, "Tender! Delicious!" The fillet was not heavy, so I could easily eat over 170g. The various salts and three types of Osaka sauces complemented the fillet, making it even more delicious. The rice was firm and tasty, the miso soup had a rich broth, the beer was delicious - everything was delicious! I finished the meal in no time. I made it in time for my next appointment. Next time, when I have a bit more time, I will try various dishes paired with wine. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal! ♩

Epaïs is a restaurant with its main branch in Kitashinchi. It is located in the basement of Hankyu Bar. They offer a variety of premium pork dishes such as "Chabimibuta Rosukatsu", "Sangenbuta Herukatsu", and "TOKYO X Rosukatsu". Today's special was the Chateaubriand set meal (I think, but I forgot to take a picture of the menu so I'm not sure...sorry). When you order it, they recommend serving it with porcini mushroom salt and a choice of salt and local sauce. There are 3 types of sauces, which they provide on the table (in tubes, a bit plain...). You can also request your preferred salt. I added French sea salt (I always thought it was called Guérande?) and Sicilian salt. Next, the miso soup arrived. It was served in a delicate bowl with an elegant portion. Then, the tonkatsu arrived! It had a beautiful pink color and the pork was very tender and delicious. It had little fat, making it a healthy choice. Despite being fried, it was guilt-free (^○^). It was served with shredded cabbage and pickles. The cabbage came with a dressing, but it was not the usual sesame dressing, it was a French dressing with black sesame seeds. It was a bit lighter than the usual sesame dressing. The taste was great, and overall, it was a delightful tonkatsu course meal that you can enjoy casually at a restaurant in Kitashinchi. Thank you for the meal ♡

We ordered the Chateaubriand (170g) and Tokyo X. The staff then explained the different salts and sauces available. When the food arrived, it looked beautiful, especially the pink color of the Chateaubriand. The truffle salt added a nice touch. The tonkatsu was tender, with a thin yet flavorful coating that complemented the pork well. It was delicious! The portion of rice was a bit small, so I recommend getting the large size if you're hungry. The sesame French dressing was also tasty. This tonkatsu was the best I've ever had!

The inside of the restaurant is small so there is always a wait, but they take your order while you wait so it didn't take too long. I ordered the Chateaubriand set meal. It's a great deal to be able to eat this quality for 2500 yen.

I ordered the 170g Chateaubriand steak. As shown in the photo, it was a thick cut with 4 slices, allowing me to enjoy the taste of the meat. The meat had no unpleasant smell, and had a refreshing aftertaste without feeling greasy. It was very delicious. Although the portion was not enough to make me, a man, full, it provided a moderate sense of satisfaction, which was just right. I went with another person who ordered the sirloin set meal, so we exchanged a slice. The sirloin was also delicious! You can enjoy different flavors with salt and 3 types of sauce. All the seasonings were delicious. My recommendation is the Chateaubriand steak. You can feel the changing seasons throughout the year in Japan. Osaka, a popular city terminal building representing western Japan, is home to the Hankyu Department Store's basement. There are several Tonkatsu specialty restaurants, with the main branch being very popular and requiring reservations. I had some errands near Umeda Station, so I decided to have an early lunch. Even though it was a bit early, I was prepared to wait in line. The B2F floor is home to the Hankyu Bar Yokocho gourmet zone. I arrived about 30 minutes before opening time and there was already a significant line forming. I decided to wait and managed to get a seat. I ordered the "Today's Pork Cutlet Set" and it was delicious. The pork cutlet was juicy and the coating was crispy. The salt menu and soup were also served. The pork was from Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, and it was cut beautifully. I enjoyed trying out different salts with the meat. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
