While debating whether to drink and go home or head straight back, the train stopped at Nishi-Ogikubo Station due to an emergency button being pressed at a nearby station. Instead of waiting for the train to resume, I decided to get off at Nishi-Ogikubo. It was my first time setting foot in this area, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that right outside the station on the south side is a street filled with bars and restaurants. Excitedly looking for a place to eat, I was approached by someone who recommended "Tsubame SAKABA" to me. I was drawn into the cozy atmosphere of the place, with table seating in the front and a counter in the back. The regular customers and staff seemed to be on friendly terms, but even as a newcomer, I didn't feel out of place. The food and drinks were delicious. I've added another solo dining spot to my list of favorites. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Curry macaroni, prosciutto cream cheese, and seared ray fin. It's a lineup you've probably seen and tasted before, but it's reasonable and worth a visit for a second time. All seats allow smoking, so if you're not a fan, sitting next to a smoker might be uncomfortable.

The menu is really extensive and it's hard to decide what to order! They have sashimi, pasta, xiaolongbao, omurice, roast beef, and a wide variety of drinks including beer, cocktails, and wine. The dishes are all delicious and it's no wonder the restaurant is always full! I ordered the linguine with porcini mushrooms and minced meat in cream sauce, which was probably made with sour cream. It was rich and tasty! They also have a great selection of snacks to go with drinks, so it's a good place for both drinking and dining. It's smoking allowed, so it might be a bit smoky for non-smokers.

A restaurant in the drinking district of Nishi-Ogikubo. Despite being an izakaya, the menu is diverse with Chinese, Western, and Japanese dishes. Each dish is reasonably priced, generous in portion size, and delicious. The omelette rice is especially outstanding, but it seems it can only be made when the owner is present, so it may not be available on holidays. [Menu] ◼︎Omelette rice ⭐︎The portion size is impressive and the taste is even more so. The demi-glace sauce is delicious and the chicken is tender and plentiful. A must-try dish here. ◼︎Quiche ⭐︎A bit unusual for a quiche, but the strong cheese aroma and generous amount make it tasty. A must-try for cheese lovers. The pie crust is also delicious. ◼︎Chili con carne (Spicy stew with minced beef and kidney beans) ⭐︎Well-spiced and spicy. The beans are tender and flavorful, and the minced beef adds a rustic touch. ◼︎Shredded pork with green peppers ⭐︎Stir-fried in lard for a rich flavor. The vegetables are crunchy. ◼︎Fried chicken Tender fried chicken with a hint of karaage style. Goes well with lemon.

Actually, this was my first time drinking in Nishi-Ogikubo. I didn't realize there were so many shops packed together like this. I was wandering around not sure where to go, and then I was lured in by a lively call to this place. I had a beer and a few snacks. The photo shows yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and xiaolongbao (soup dumplings). It was still early but it started to get busier gradually. I'd like to explore more restaurants in this area. Thank you for the delicious meal ♡

One day, I visited a restaurant that combines French and Chinese cuisine, known as Nouvelle Cuisine Chinoise. I had heard about it before, but I finally had the chance to visit. I sat at the counter and saw the daily specials and sake list in front of me. It was quite different from what I had expected. I chose a dish from the specials and started with seared shirako, pairing it with sake. It was not too rich but had a nice creamy texture. Next, I tried the sautéed oysters with gorgonzola sauce, which was an interesting combination. I switched to wine and tried the quiche, which was creamy and delicious. I also enjoyed some sake and a sharp wine from Shizuoka. Overall, I felt that the regular menu items were the highlight of the restaurant, and I look forward to trying more dishes in the future.

Introduced by Suppin-san, I have visited this restaurant many times. When I am wandering around Nishi-Ogikubo alone, I always check if there is an empty seat at the counter, and if there is, I sit comfortably by myself. When I am out drinking with a few friends, we use the tables and enjoy a variety of dishes. The menu at this restaurant is excellent, with a wide range of dishes that are all delicious! The owner used to work at an Italian restaurant, and I think it's rare to find such quality food at a casual izakaya in Nishi-Ogikubo. And the cost performance is also great! I always appreciate their hospitality. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

The balance of Chinese, Italian, and Japanese cuisine is delicious! The sautéed Ooyama Jidori chicken was particularly tasty, with crispy skin and a moist interior with a wonderful butter and garlic aroma. The beef red wine stew used to be on the menu, but it's been removed recently, which is a shame. The taste is top-notch and the value for money is surprising. Dishes like General Tso's chicken and mapo tofu are excellent! It's great to have such a good restaurant in Nishi-Ogikubo. The 100% beef hamburger is also impressive at only 980 yen. The quiche sells out quickly, so be sure to try it.

The Swallow Salad, Avocado Tuna Gorgonzola Penne, all went well with the sake. They were all very delicious and enjoyable.

For the second stop, we decided to walk around the city and try a restaurant that looked promising. We ended up at a place that served both Chinese and Italian cuisine. I tried their Carbonara with ham, cream cheese, and fermented tofu, and it was delicious.

After a long time, I wandered around Nishi-Ogikubo looking for a place to drink, but many crowded restaurants made it hard to decide. In such a situation, I entered a place with a clean interior and exterior and friendly staff. The quiche had a rich cheese flavor and a unique texture, while the spicy chicken had a numbingly spicy kick. Every dish had a sense of originality. I want to try other dishes and definitely want to go back.
