サカキシンイチロウ
Shakey's, a pizza restaurant born in America, has a cafe version. It could be said that it was a pioneer of lunch buffets... When I was a student, I really relied on this restaurant. At that time, the spicy and fragrant thick type of pizza that truly felt American could be enjoyed. The fried potatoes, sliced and spiced, were also unique, and if you ate them for lunch, you would burp with a Shakey's smell all day long. Even now, they still have a buffet, but the recipes have become much milder, like a lion with its fangs pulled out. The cafe version of the restaurant... it was located in a place hidden in the greenery of the Jingu Outer Gardens in Shinano-cho, near the station. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant, with a living room-like setting, cozy sofas, mid-century style chairs, and tables lined up. The distance between the open kitchen and the seating area is very good, and the whole restaurant is filled with a delicious atmosphere. For lunch, they mainly serve pasta and pizza. When it comes to Shakey's, pizza is a must. The pizza has become more stylish, just like the restaurant itself. The shape is like Indian naan bread, thick and fluffy. Today's pizza is a gratin pizza, with plenty of white sauce, shimeji mushrooms, and peeled shrimp on top. The crust is delicious. The crispy surface has a firm texture, and the chewiness is just right. The saltiness of the crust itself is complemented by the sweetness of the wheat. The balance of the toppings, sauce, and cheese is not bad, and although it's not the typical Shakey's pizza, it tastes good as a cafe dish. The macho American cowboy style is not popular in Japan these days. Most of the people who come to the restaurant are women, and the atmosphere of such restaurants reflects that. The main pizza comes with soup, salad, and a drink. The fact that the salad and main pizza are served on one plate gives it a cafe-like feel. A cafe is a type of restaurant that eliminates the need for separate dishes for everything. I don't particularly like this approach, but the casual atmosphere is nice, and many people probably appreciate it. The homemade ginger ale has a sharp ginger flavor. The soup, however, is pre-made and has a strong taste of artificial seasoning, making it hard to finish. The potato salad served as one of the salads is also factory-made. It seems that the cafe's interpretation of cooking is to put effort into drinks and desserts while minimizing the effort in the main dishes. Well, that's how it is. The staff serving is very friendly and the kitchen staff's work is impressive, making you feel good when you leave the restaurant and hear a cheerful "thank you" from the whole team. Coming with close friends on a Sunday afternoon, the atmosphere is lively and the conversations flow. It's a convenient place for such afternoons.
