I wanted to eat katsu curry, so I searched in Oimachi and visited this restaurant. It seems to be a Myanmar cuisine restaurant... maybe? For lunch, they have a lineup that looks like a Japanese izakaya, with "Myanmar chicken stew" being the only Myanmar-style lunch set. Among them, I naturally chose the katsu curry. It was only 800 yen for what you see in the picture!! Isn't that cheap!? The taste was also good. It was like Japanese curry made like Indian curry, with a watery consistency. It was delicious. If you feel like eating katsu curry in Oimachi (west side), I recommend coming here.

I am the baseball king Saito! I stake my life on pitching, gourmet food, and alcohol! I forgot to take a picture of the food, but I'll introduce you to the best restaurant. There is a Japanese home cooking restaurant run by a person from Myanmar. It's located in a slightly secluded area in Oimachi. It's a place where you feel a good kind of loneliness when you eat and leave. I really love the curry rice there. It's so good that it makes me feel nostalgic like a child. The curry is thick and the rice goes down so easily. The owners are really great people, and I hope this place continues to thrive. The trendy curries are nice, but isn't this kind of curry the best? Well, see you later!

Lunch at a Myanmar izakaya behind Ito-Yokado in Oimachi. Bought a ticket for katsu curry and waited for about 5 minutes. It was a generous portion. The curry was a mild homemade style. Personally, I wanted more spiciness so I added some spices from the table. It was the perfect level of spiciness! The katsu was freshly fried and delicious. Salad and pork miso soup were included, making it a great deal! The service was also very good, a highly recommended restaurant.

Near Oimachi Station, there is a Myanmar cuisine restaurant. I visited at night. The menu structure is very unique. While they have a variety of Myanmar dishes, the selection of Japanese izakaya dishes is even more extensive. This place is probably run by people from Myanmar, but I think they are putting in a lot of effort to attract Japanese customers. I personally really like this kind of restaurant. I was surprised when a mixed oden dish was served as a complimentary appetizer. (laughs) For two people, we had "Chicken and Potato Stew," "Myanmar Shrimp Salad," "Samosa," "Stir-Fried Glass Noodles," "Crispy Cheese?" "Myanmar Fried Rice," along with appetizers and various drinks. This came out to about 7,200 yen (about 3,600 yen per person). Affordable. Among the dishes we had, the "Chicken and Potato Stew" stood out. When we asked for recommendations, this was suggested to us as their signature dish. The chicken and potatoes were simmered nicely, with the flavors fully infused. There was no strong chicken smell, and the potatoes had a mild taste without being too sweet. It was perfect as a snack.

On a holiday evening, after having dinner at a nearby pizzeria, I decided to stop by for a drink. I hesitated a bit before entering, but when I finally opened the door, a quiet man welcomed me. It seemed like a Burmese couple was running the place. There was a TV showing news about the coronavirus. Since I had just eaten pizza, I ordered a shrimp salad and a highball. The owner quickly prepared the salad in the kitchen. The salad, made mainly of cabbage with plenty of fresh and juicy shrimp, had a spicy, sour, and sweet flavor similar to Thai Yum Woon Sen, which was delicious. They also had Japanese izakaya dishes on the menu, which was quite enjoyable. But next time, I definitely want to try Burmese cuisine. I am interested in trying Kaya Hin, a Burmese-style eggplant stir-fry, and Lapet Thoke, a salad made with tea leaves and fried beans that they eat every day in Myanmar. The owner mentioned that it's not too spicy. I wonder what a tea leaf salad tastes like. Despite the cheap-looking exterior and the typical Japanese izakaya interior, the presence of the Burmese couple and authentic Burmese cuisine created a slightly confusing yet surprisingly cozy atmosphere. During my meal, a Burmese-looking couple stopped by and ordered Danbau (apparently a Burmese chicken rice dish) for takeout.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Oimachi Station, closer to the Tokyu Oimachi Line ticket gate. It's easy to find as it's on the corner! I've used their weekday lunch menu so many times. They offer around 10 lunch options including: tonkatsu curry, curry, negitoro bowl, white fish fry, beef tendon stew, and more. In addition to the daily menu, they also have rotating daily specials! I've never encountered the same menu twice, which makes it all the more exciting. Today, I had the gapao rice for 800 yen, and I've come across various daily specials in the past. They also include a little extra side dish with each lunch menu, making the combinations interesting. For example, beef tendon stew with fried chicken, or today's gapao rice with shrimp tempura. Another recommendation is the beef tendon stew, which is packed with ingredients like daikon, konjac, beef tendon, boiled egg, carrots, and more. The miso soup also changes daily, often featuring pork soup. If you're looking for lunch in Oimachi, this place is a must-visit! They serve quickly, which is convenient during weekday lunch hours. Highly recommended for both men and women.

This shop is located a 2-minute walk from Oimachi Station, behind Ito-Yokado. While heading to my favorite izakaya "Noyaki," I found out they were closed for lunch. But then I noticed this restaurant... "Myanmar-Asian home cooking" - what a nice ring to it! Let's give it a try!! Lunch menu starting from 500 to 750 yen, offering affordable Japanese cuisine. Wait, isn't this Japanese food? Not Asian? The braised beef tendon set for 700 yen was delicious with the flavor soaked into the daikon. The miso soup (tonjiru) was a traditional Japanese-style dashi broth! Oh, I see, the staff are all from Myanmar, probably trained in Japanese cuisine and now proudly running their own shop. They are working hard and energetically, cheering each other on. There's a spicy Myanmar seasoning on the table, allowing you to transform Japanese dishes into Myanmar-style. I feel like supporting them in their efforts to make a name for themselves in Japan. Thank you for the meal!

I was taken to an izakaya where I could try Myanmar cuisine by a senior colleague from work. Personally, when I think of Myanmar cuisine, I think of Laphet Thoke (tea leaf salad) and Mohinga (rice noodle soup with fish). I'm not very familiar with Myanmar cuisine, but I know that the taste of Laphet Thoke can vary depending on the type of beans used. It was delicious. Of course, they also had regular Japanese izakaya menu items. Thank you for the meal.

Theme: Oimachi at night. I visited a restaurant for the first time for dinner, where I had been for lunch several times. "Myanmar-Asian Home Cooking Marubi" The restaurant was crowded during lunchtime, but the night started off slowly. The kitchen seemed relaxed as well. First, I started with a beer toast. They also have Japanese-style izakaya menu, but let's go with Myanmar style since we're here. Starting with dishes like "Simmered Beef Tendon" from a Japanese perspective. This salad looks Asian with coriander and delicious crunchy shrimp. And spicy. Transitioning from beer to highball. "Samusa" This seems more like from the Indian region rather than Myanmar or Asia. But it's "Samusa" here, not "Samosa". The taste is the same though. What was this, um, Myanmar-style tempura? It was served with a sweet chili sauce, like the one you have with spring rolls. Oh, there was also Hoppy, so let's go with Hoppy (white). "Pork and Potato Stew" Is this Myanmar style? Maybe. And a safe choice of "Assorted Yakitori" as well. After Hoppy, I had a green tea highball. And for the finale. Choose one from the above. "Ohnokaukse" It has a very difficult pronunciation, but in parentheses, it says "Chicken Ramen". It's completely different from the instant ramen, and the noodles were instant noodles. It was tasty, but felt a bit pricey at 800 yen. They had other Myanmar-style dishes, so it might be nice to come back for an Asian vibe. Thank you for the meal.

At "Marubi," a Myanmar and Asian home cooking restaurant located a short walk from Oimachi Station East Exit towards Shimo-Kanda, I tried the classic Myanmar dish, "Laphet Thohk" (tea leaf salad), as well as a tomato stewed pork belly appetizer. I also tasted the spicy Myanmar seasoning called "Kayah Dinaat" on a spoon. I enjoyed these dishes with a cold beer. The restaurant also offers a variety of izakaya-style dishes like horse sashimi, octopus legs, tuna, hokke fish, yakitori, and stingray fins, but personally, I was not particularly interested in anything beyond the dishes mentioned above.

It's already March. March... So, let's talk about the lunch situation in Oimachi in October. It was a day when I was in the mood for katsu curry. I went to "Myanmar Asian Home Cooking Marubi," a place that fills the stomachs of nearby businessmen during lunchtime. I sometimes visit this place. They also have izakaya menu at night, so it's like an izakaya where you can eat Myanmar cuisine. Now, let's talk about the lunch menu. I chose the "Katsu Curry." It came with salad and miso soup. The main dish was the katsu curry with a moderately thick cutlet. I adjusted the spiciness with the "spicy furikake" on the table. The taste was neither good nor bad, but it was okay. It's good enough for me. I will come back again. Thank you for the meal.

MARUBI. November 22, 2018 NEW! Theme: Kamata, Oimachi, Oimachi-cho I'm getting hungry. It's natural, but I'm getting hungry. With a health check-up coming up early next month, I've gained some weight over the past few months. Not good. "Mianmar Asia Home Cooking Marubi" is the lunch spot I'm aiming for. The goal is to eat what I came for. This day, I sat at a table on the first floor. I haven't been to the second floor yet. I noticed a "Katsudon set meal" that wasn't on the signboard outside. A hidden menu item? I placed my order at the entrance and bought a food ticket as it's a prepayment system. Soon after, more and more customers arrived. It seems like this place has many fans. "Beef tendon stew set meal" with piping hot miso soup. Well, it was more like tonjiru soup. The main dish of beef tendon stew came with a boiled egg and a piece of fried chicken on top. The beef tendon was full of flavor and delicious. I definitely want to come back for this. I should visit again for the evening menu too. Well, I've actually been there already. The details of that visit will be shared in a few months. Thank you for the meal.

MARUBI. November 05, 2018 NEW! Theme: Lunchtime situation in Oimachi, Kamata, and Oimori. There is a place in Oimachi where office workers are easily drawn in during their lunch break. "Myanmar Asian Home Cooking Marubi" What is "Marubi" you might ask? Well, try reading it backwards. It's a restaurant run by people from that country. They offer set meals for just one coin, so it's no wonder that nearby office workers are drawn in. I've only been on the first floor, but they also have seating on the second floor. At night, they serve izakaya dishes and Myanmar-style cuisine. I had the "Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Set (with red Vienna sausage)" for 700 yen. In addition to the grilled chicken teriyaki, the red Vienna sausage is coated in batter and fried, served with spaghetti salad and cabbage. On the table, there was a "spicy sprinkle" that was quite hot. It was my first visit, but I can see why office workers are drawn in. I'll definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

You can enjoy affordable Myanmar cuisine and classic Japanese izakaya dishes here. There are a lot of shrimp dishes that are delicious. I really liked the fresh spring rolls. The flavors are somewhat familiar but slightly different. Many of the dishes come with a lot of vegetables, so it feels healthy. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is mostly izakaya style, with little ethnic vibe. It's great for those who are not big fans of all-ethnic restaurants. In fact, there are more izakaya menu items than ethnic ones. I will definitely come back.

The menu said it was Myanmar cuisine, but it was just a regular diner. I decided to try the only Myanmar lunch they had, and the chicken was deliciously tender. They also had a wide variety of izakaya dishes at night, making it a unique restaurant experience.
