Former AKB48 member Mayumi Uchida's restaurant "Yakiniku IWA" in Shin-Okubo serves delicious meat! The interior is decorated with idol uniforms, trophies from rock-paper-scissors tournaments, belts, and signatures of celebrities. Winning the rock-paper-scissors tournament is a big deal here! It seems like a lot of different people come here! The meat is delicious, and you can also enjoy a unique idol-like, AKB theater-like atmosphere. Mayumi Uchida has a different image from her idol days - she's cute and has a great aura! The restaurant opened in 2014, so it's been around for about 9 years - that's amazing! The "Hanasaki Tan" is a rare cut that only about 10 pieces can be taken from each cow. It's called "Hanasaki" because it blooms as you cook it. The Ichibo, Lamp, and Kalbi were so delicious that I had seconds! There are still many other menu items that I didn't get to try, so I definitely want to visit again. In July 2022, for dinner, I went to a restaurant called "Yakiniku IWA" in Shin-Okubo, Tokyo. It is located just a 3-minute walk from JR Shin-Okubo Station. The restaurant is known for its high-quality meat, including their famous premium tongue salt dish. The owner, former AKB48 member Mayumi Uchida, has attracted many celebrities to dine at the restaurant. I enjoyed a variety of dishes including kimchi assortment, premium tongue salt, premium hormone, premium ichibo, and Fortune rice balls inspired by AKB48 songs. The total bill came to 7,160 yen. I look forward to visiting again and hopefully meeting the owner next time.

I was able to go back after not having been there for a long time since my last visit. The interior of the restaurant always gives off a clean impression, with every corner looking spotless. The dishes such as tongue, harami, stone bibimbap, and cold noodles are all excellent! The flavorful tongue with a sprinkle of salt is the ultimate indulgence. And it goes perfectly with the stone bibimbap! Finishing off with the refreshing cold noodles is highly recommended! The speed of drink service was also fast, and I was completely satisfied from start to finish! I will definitely be back! Thank you very much!

I received service from an active idol!! She was incredibly cute! When I ordered a toast drink, she toasted with me and chatted with me for about 5 minutes. This is the restaurant of Mayumi Uchida, who served as the center for AKB48's 19th single "Chance no Junban". They have active idols working as staff. For a yakiniku restaurant, it's pretty normal. Considering the service charge, it's cheaper and cuter than a cabaret club. Great experience!

I saw an article on Yahoo News about the restaurant Yakiniku IWA working hard, so I decided to go check it out. It was a Sunday night around 7pm, and there were empty seats outside with a sign saying "Solo diners welcome". It was reassuring to see that. There were only about three groups of customers already there, so it wasn't too crowded. The restaurant was smaller than I expected, and the walls were filled with autographs. When I asked the staff if I could take photos, they said to go ahead. I noticed autographs from Sasshi (Tomomi Itano), Mirika (Marika Tani), and later saw that Haruppi (Haruka Kodama) had signed as well. There were also three autographed cards from HKT members on the kitchen wall! I ordered the premium tongue salt, premium kalbi, pork belly, egg soup, and a non-alcoholic drink since I was planning to eat at the AKB cafe in Akihabara later. The total came to 5,060 yen including tax. It was a bit pricey, but the food was worth it.

Everything I ate was delicious. The prices may be a bit high though. The recommended salted tongue and stone-grilled kalbi were especially delicious. The mashed potatoes were also tasty. The CALPIS soda was rich and refreshing, and it seemed like they made it on the spot. The restaurant had continuous theater visuals, so there were quite a few solo diners. It was nice being able to eat while watching the videos. I would like to go back when I have some extra money.

Located just a short walk from Shin-Okubo station, this yakiniku restaurant is easily recognizable. It is situated about 3 minutes straight ahead from the station, next to Matsumoto Kiyoshi. The restaurant is famous for being owned by former AKB48 member Mayumi Uchida. The exterior resembles the AKB48 theater and is very cute, with members' and celebrities' autographs displayed. The interior is full of AKB idol vibes, and the staff is incredibly cute and fun, making you feel like you're in a maid cafe (laughs). This place is more about enjoying the lively atmosphere than just the food. I recommend the tan shio (tongue with salt). On the way out, we were given Pocky as a gift. If you prefer to have a fun, lively experience rather than just focusing on the taste, I think it's worth visiting this place at least once.

The closest yakiniku restaurant from my house. It was delicious again today, with a consistent taste. I would like to go there again when I'm in the mood for yakiniku.

I was invited by a friend and visited the restaurant with 4 people. It was around 9 pm on Thursday and the place was quite crowded. We enjoyed chatting with drinks in hand. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious since we couldn't see inside from outside. The recommended beef tongue with salt was thick and juicy, with the meat juice overflowing. It was a fantastic dish that is hard to find elsewhere. The cost performance was also good. There were a few mistakes in our orders made by a new part-time staff, but it was within the acceptable range. I think we were able to enjoy authentic Japanese yakiniku, which is rare in Shin-Okubo. It was delicious. Thank you very much!

It feels like an extension of being able to meet idols, and the interior of the store is beautiful and the meat is delicious.

I missed out on a theater performance and ended up here for some yakiniku and beer, watching the monitor. It's easier to get a table on weekdays, even for solo diners. The owner greeted me at the entrance. Maybe I looked a bit tired? I had some beer with kimchi and raw liver sashimi. The taste was good, but the draft beer had a slight smell. The staff didn't come out much, probably because there weren't many customers on a weekday. The owner noticed though. I decided to treat myself with some horse sashimi since I missed the performance. The portion was generous, but the presentation could have been better. I ordered harami and loin. The harami was delicious, but the loin in salt sauce was too salty. Overall, there were no major issues. The food was tasty and I had a good time, despite the slight loneliness that can be felt in a quiet restaurant on a weekday. I'll definitely come back for more energy! (laughs)

I went to Shin-Okubo for work. After finishing work, my colleagues and I decided to have a drink. My colleague wanted to have yakiniku, so we ended up going to this restaurant that I had always wanted to visit. It's located about a 2-3 minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station, in a very convenient location. The exterior of the restaurant seems to be inspired by a theater. The reason we chose this restaurant is because it is owned by Mayumi Uchida, a former member of AKB48. The owner is often present at the restaurant, and it is known as a place where fans gather, so I had always wanted to visit. We went up the stairs to the second floor. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious, with table seating and tatami seating available. In the middle of the restaurant, there is a large table where solo diners are seated. AKB-related live footage is playing on the TV, and the walls are filled with autographs of AKB-related celebrities, entertainers, and athletes. Just seeing this would get fans excited. The three of us were seated at a table. We started with a toast with draft beer and then ordered various meats like tongue, kalbi, and tripe. We also ordered bean sprout namul and kimchi. The tongue was not very thick, but you could feel the texture of the meat. It had a light saltiness and was enjoyed with lemon. The kalbi was a chunk of meat with cuts made with a knife, stretched out and grilled. It was then cut with scissors and enjoyed in your preferred size. It had a good thickness and texture to enjoy. Although it was kalbi, it wasn't very fatty. The tripe was small in size with a chewy texture unique to tripe. It was decent. We also ordered additional items like harami and salted hormone. For dessert, we had honey-glazed sweet potatoes with vanilla ice cream and "Fortune Rice Ball in Love." The fortune rice ball came with a fortune slip inside, and I got a "small blessing" (laughs). On that day, the owner, Ms. Uchida, was also at the restaurant, chatting with regular customers. It must be exciting for fans. The service from other staff members, besides the owner, was also good. This restaurant may attract AKB fans, but even if you're not a fan, you can still enjoy the yakiniku. However, having some knowledge about AKB might enhance the experience.

I've been here not just for the second time, but many times already (laughs). This day, I visited with a junior who was making their debut at handshake events. Of course, it was their first visit. The famous IWA Kalbi is a must-try. I usually don't eat much Kalbi, as I'm not a big fan of fatty meat at my age, but I do enjoy eating Harami and Mino. Of course, I ordered Harami and Mino on this day as well, but the IWA Kalbi here is something else. It may be a bit pricey at 2500 yen, but it easily serves two to three people, and unlike other restaurants, it's thick and has a satisfying texture. I drink quite a bit, so the price per person is around this range, but if you focus on the meal alone, it's even cheaper.
