Oji Kita's "Momotaro" in the northern district is a teppanyaki restaurant specializing in okonomiyaki. I was planning to use it for lunch, but unfortunately they are not open during the day. So, I ended up using it for dinner. The exterior of the restaurant is bright and inviting compared to other surrounding eateries, but keep in mind that it is still an okonomiyaki restaurant, which may not be the most convenient for solo diners. This time, I ordered the "takoika yakisoba" (tax included 720 yen) and paired it with an Oolong Highball (tax included 350 yen) for a drink. At "Momotaro," you cook the food yourself, which can be either fun or bothersome depending on the person. The yakisoba was served with noodles and ingredients separated, as shown in the attached photo. I cooked the vegetables first and then the noodles, and it turned out pretty good. The noodles were thick, and may not have paired well with the sauce. Choosing pork over seafood like octopus or squid might have been a better option to fully enjoy the yakisoba. Overall, the portion size was not very generous for the price, so it may be a good idea to order an additional side dish to go with your drink.

This is a review for a Sunday night visit to a restaurant. When I was a child, I used to look forward to going to a nearby monjayaki restaurant on Sunday nights, and it brings back nostalgic feelings. This restaurant has a large tatami room with teppanyaki tables lined up, giving it an old-fashioned atmosphere. One nice thing is that when you order Hoppy, you always get a cut lemon with it.

The local priced okonomiyaki and monjayaki restaurant is bustling with families on Sunday nights. I remember how excited I used to be as a child when my family took me to the neighborhood monjayaki restaurant. I always go in casual clothes when I visit, so I don't need it, but there are garbage bags at the entrance for storing coats to prevent the smell of smoke. One of the things I like about this restaurant is the delicious dressing for the salad.

On weekends, do you ever feel like having Monja? Maybe it's because of the fun memories from childhood, but I sometimes do. The Tuna Salad with their original dressing is delicious. I always order the High-Collar Monja with various ingredients. On this day, I also ordered the Mentaiko Monja with cheese topping. It was a great combination.

Do you ever feel like eating monjayaki or okonomiyaki once in a while? On the night of January 3rd, when I got tired of New Year's dishes, I went to a restaurant where you can make your own monjayaki and okonomiyaki. It's a place where many families go, with traditional tatami seating and reasonable prices. I really like the salad dressing, so I had the tuna salad. For the main dishes, I ordered the mixed monjayaki (I think that was the name) and the stamina okonomiyaki. I was happy to see the bonito flakes in a bottle on the table.

The restaurant has a traditional atmosphere with tatami seating. I ordered mentaiko (spicy cod roe) monjayaki and gyu-suji (beef tendon) negi (green onion) monjayaki, along with Momotaro salad. The salad had a homemade soy dressing with a hint of sesame flavor, perfect for vegetable lovers. The monjayaki had a slightly runny batter, but it was packed with generous fillings. The table had sauce for the monjayaki, and I found it better to add a little before mixing. The gyu-suji was tender and delicious. I recently visited a nearby restaurant called "O***o," but in comparison, Momotaro had better portions and value. Momotaro offers a wide variety of options, and I would definitely like to visit again.
