Apricot Butter Cake ¥400
A moist and dense butter cake with a delicate and rich buttery flavor that gently spreads in your mouth. It has a subtle sweetness with a nice accent of apricot bitterness. The crispy texture of almond slices is irresistible. A sophisticated butter cake for adults.

Carrot cake, ginger cake, and Basque cheesecake were purchased. The carrot cake has a subtle spice, lots of raisins, and a fluffy texture. Topped with cream cheese. The ginger cake looks like a cocoa cake, but the ginger flavor is strong and enjoyable. It might be a matter of preference, but I really like it. The Basque cheesecake has a black surface, but the taste is very creamy and gentle. It's gooey. Delicious. They only do it once a week, so it's no wonder that customers have been coming in since the opening. The popularity is understandable due to the deliciousness. I would like to come back again.

FINE CAKES is a sweet shop that is only open on Saturdays. The nearest stations are Midorigaoka Station or Okusawa Station. It's a bit closer from Midorigaoka Station, but if you're coming from there, you should head left after passing the grocery store in front of the station, cross the railroad crossing, turn right at the corner of Figo jewelry workshop (there's a traffic light), and go straight for about 200 meters. If you're coming from Okusawa Station, just go down Suwayama Street for about 10 minutes. Once you pass the grocery store, you'll see a yellow building. FINE CAKES is the door on the left at the back. The shop opens at 1:00 PM on this day. I arrived a little before 1:00 PM and was the first in line. A person arrived behind me before the shop opened. The shop is very small and can only fit two people at a time. They sell muffins, sliced cakes, cute cat cookies, and more. The owner is alone, so it may take some time for ordering, payment, and packaging. They put the treats in cute handmade bags. I bought the Baked Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, Rum Raisin & Cream Cheese Cake, and Kinako Balls. The Baked Cheesecake was simple and delicious. The Carrot Cake was soft and moist with a generous amount of cream cheese on top. The Rum Raisin & Cream Cheese Cake was also subtly sweet and simple. The Kinako Balls with black sesame were delicate and melted in the mouth. Overall, the treats were tasty and reminiscent of simple, rustic American snacks. I will definitely visit again.

I have been to this place countless times, so I often forget to leave reviews (^^;; I visited for the last time this year on December 15th at Okusawa. Arrived before 3 pm. There were still plenty of cakes available that day. ✿Carrot cake ✿Gâteau au chocolat ✿Apple pie ✿Apple muffin ✿Lemon Weekend Carrot Cake. The carrot cake from fine cakes had a moist and flavorful spice-infused batter with sweet raisins. It was delicious! Highly recommended for carrot cake lovers. The Gâteau au chocolat was rich like a chocolate ganache but not too heavy! Super delicious (T ^ T). The apple pie was filled generously with apples, not too sweet, and had a nice flaky crust. It was also delicious. The apple muffin had a moist texture with a hint of cinnamon, very tasty. Fine cakes' muffins have a moist batter and are very delicious. The Lemon Weekend had a light lemon flavor that spread gently with a hint of crunchy sugar. Always delicious, but this time it seemed even more delicious! I vow to visit this evolving Saturday bakery more next year (❁´ω`❁).

I have been rejected several times recently, but I finally got it after more than half a year (*^.^*)♪ [Apple muffin, ¥320] The surface of the dough is crispy and fragrant, while the inside is fluffy and light! This lightness seems to be a common feature of Fine Cakes' muffins. The apple filling is soft and gooey♪ The cinnamon flavor is strong and enhances the sweetness of the apple. As a hidden flavor, a tiny bit of cardamom is added. Overall impression: I wonder what I should try next time (*^.^*)♪

- Carrot Cake
- Hummingbird Cake (Pound Cake)
- Lemon Cake (topped with white chocolate)
Personally, I prefer moist cakes over fluffy ones, so I think it's worth trying once.

I walked there. It's a bit of a walk from Okusawa Station. It seems to be open only on Saturdays. They have cute cookies and pound cakes. The taste is gentle. 2017/10/14

The shop owner seems to like British sweets. I tried Victoria sponge cake for the first time in Japan and found it to have a gentle taste that I liked. However, the shop is only open on Saturdays and is located in a strange area with not so great value for money. There are many high-quality dessert shops in the area, so I probably wouldn't visit this shop unless I wanted to buy a unique souvenir for a friend who likes rare treats.

During the typhoon, I went to "fine cakes" in Okusawa. I bought everything I wanted to eat from there: Matcha Muffin 350 yen (tax included), Rum Raisin Muffin 350 yen (tax included), Nyanko Cookies (5 pieces) 280 yen (tax included), Lemon Cake 350 yen (tax included), Rhubarb Victoria Sandwich Cake 420 yen (tax included). I love all the items from fine cakes! I tried putting the cute Nyanko cookies on the muffins myself (*´ω`*). So cute. Muffins from fine cakes are so moist, I wonder why. The matcha flavor has a genuine bitterness and is delicious, I will definitely buy it again. The rum raisin muffin has a strong cinnamon flavor and is tasty. The Lemon Cake, recommended by the owner, is sweet on the surface but has a refreshing lemon flavor. I like it too. The Rhubarb Victoria Sandwich Cake. I'm actually not a fan of Victoria Sponge Cake, but the one from fine cakes is not heavy and delicious! Especially the homemade rhubarb jam and buttercream are delicious, I was surprised! I can definitely handle three slices of this Victoria Sponge Cake! Of course, the Nyanko cookies were crispy and delicious too. They are open today (8/4) from 1 pm. And today is the last day of August! If you are interested, please go and check it out today!

It's been a while since I visited Fine Cakes. It's a 6-7 minute walk from Okusawa Station. I arrived a little after 4pm. Despite the hot day, there were still quite a few options available. I bought a matcha muffin for 350 yen (tax included) and a cheesecake for 420 yen (tax included). One of the highlights was chatting with the lovely owner. The matcha muffin was moist and fluffy with a delicious matcha flavor that spread out with each bite. The cheesecake was rich but had a refreshing aftertaste, perfect for summer. Both were delicious. Even in the heat, I'm glad I went to my favorite bakery. I will definitely visit again.

As we entered June, the temperature rose significantly, making it difficult to carry cakes around in the summer heat. However, with baked goods, you don't have to worry about the hot weather! So, this summer, I am thinking of focusing on baked goods. I visited a rare baked goods shop called "Fine Cakes" in the neighborhood next to the sweets paradise of Jiyugaoka. This shop only opens once a week on Saturdays. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Okusawa Station towards the shopping street. The shop is small enough that it might be easy to miss without a sign. Inside, there are muffins, pound cakes, and cookies displayed in a homemade style. The female owner manages the shop alone, and the shop is so small that it gets crowded with just two people inside. I had a chat with the owner, who mentioned that she prefers hearty American-style baked goods over delicate French pastries. So, we can look forward to more American-style baked goods in the future. I purchased the following items this time:
- Plain Cookie (280 yen) ★3.8
- Lemon Cookie (270 yen)
- Lemon Weekend Cake (320 yen) ★3.8
- Strawberry Jam Bakewell Tart (400 yen) ★3.8
The baked goods had a homemade feel and a comforting taste. They were all delicious and I enjoyed them. The only downside is that the shop is open only on Saturdays, but I would love to visit again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

After having pizza for lunch at Pizzeria Imora in Okusawa, I moved here to get some snacks! I tried the Blondie (¥300) - it's called that because it's blonde in color, not because of any connection to Bruiser Brody (lol). It's packed with sliced almonds and raisins. Not only that, but the dough itself has white chocolate and brown sugar mixed in, making it clear from the ingredients list that it's a rich treat. I took a bite and enjoyed the crunchy, soft, and airy texture, along with the crispy almonds and chewy raisins. The sweet and nutty flavor was just delightful. I savored each bite thoroughly!

Visited the bakery "fine cakes" that is open only on Saturdays. Checked the information on Instagram in advance and had them set aside for me. ✿Carrot Cake 350 yen (tax included) ✿Matcha Cake 350 yen (tax included) ✿Almond and Cranberry Blondie 300 yen (tax included). It's a small shop that only offers takeout, but I always enjoy chatting with the lovely owner. My favorite Carrot Cake and Matcha Cake! The cakes from fine cakes have a moist texture that I love so much. The owner mentioned, "Even though I love them, they're not very popular." The Blondie was a delightful combination of crunchy yet moist texture, sweetness from cranberries and white chocolate, and the nuttiness of almonds. It's a high bar to clear, but I love this place so much and will definitely visit again. (ˊo̶̶̷ᴗo̶̶̷`)

Fortunately, there were still some left~\(^o^)/ I had the Banana and Coconut Pound Cake (¥340) which is slightly larger in size♡ I had it the morning after purchasing. The sweet scent of banana and coconut when I took a bite~(^q^)♪ The coconut adds a crunchy texture, while the cake itself is moist and chewy, with a smooth mouthfeel. There is no dry or crumbly texture that would hinder the taste. I can feel the quality of the ingredients, the combination and balance, and the skillful baking.

I had been curious about the cat-shaped cookies I saw in a magazine for a while. The shop is only open on Saturdays, so I hadn't had a chance to visit until now. Finally, I was able to get them! The cookies were a bit hard, which I liked because it gave them a homemade feel. They had a nostalgic and gentle taste. The lemon-flavored cookies on the weekend had a nice tang to them. After eating, I checked the reviews on Tabelog and regretted not getting the muffins that everyone seemed to enjoy. I would like to visit again sometime.

Persimmon muffin (¥300) A rare combination. The firm persimmon used in this muffin ensures that it is not watery or mushy. Oh, this persimmon muffin has a fluffy texture. The center part has a rich cream cheese flavor, which is especially delicious. ♡

I revisited my favorite spot, fine cakes. They are only open on Saturdays, so I went around 1 pm today. I bought a matcha cake for 340 yen, a pumpkin pound cake for 300 yen, and an apple caramel tart for 400 yen. The desserts are starting to have an autumn theme. Today, there were no other customers, so I had a nice chat with the lovely shop owner. They mentioned that they will be participating in the Zoshigaya Tezukuri Market tomorrow, October 1st. If you're nearby, be sure to visit and meet the cute shop owner and enjoy delicious sweets. I love the matcha cake, it's so rich and has a nice bitterness. The pumpkin pound cake is moist and full of pumpkin flavor. The apple caramel tart has a subtle caramel taste and the apples are crunchy and delicious. The tart crust is just right, not too hard. I really enjoyed the gentle flavors of these desserts. I love fine cakes' baked goods.

A small bakery in a residential area of Okusawa that is only open on Saturdays. Located about 7-8 minutes straight ahead from Okusawa Station on the Tokyu Meguro Line, passing through an old-fashioned shopping street with an arcade. The yellow building with a sign in front is easy to find. Despite its small space and limited opening hours, there were already two customers inside. The cute cookies shaped like cats and birds are irresistible. The display case offers various treats like banana bread, chiffon cake, matcha cake, muffins, and pound cake. I chose the Apple Cinnamon Muffin and Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake. The muffin was moist and fluffy with a strong cinnamon flavor, while the pound cake had a light texture with a hint of lemon and a crunchy sugar coating. The cozy atmosphere and delicious treats make this bakery worth a visit, even though it's only open once a week. Perfect for picking up weekend treats during a stroll in the area.

This is a bakery in Okusawa that is only open on Saturdays. They carefully bake delicious pastries using high-quality ingredients, and the atmosphere inside the shop is very welcoming. The shop is small, with only enough space for about two groups of customers at a time. The owner, a lovely and charming woman, engages in friendly conversations with customers while wrapping up their pastries with a smile. The menu changes weekly, with around 15 different items available each time. Some of the popular items include Carrot Cake, Matcha Cake, Coffee Muffin, Banana Cake, Weekend Cake, and Cookies. The prices range from around 350 yen per slice. The cakes are moist and have a light texture. I ordered the Carrot Cake, Weekend Cake, Banana Cake, and Cookies, all of which were delicious. The Carrot Cake had a rich cinnamon flavor with a creamy cheese topping, while the Weekend Cake had a refreshing lemon taste. The Banana Cake was moist and fragrant, with a unique texture from the orange peel. The Cookies were simple butter cookies in cute cat and goat shapes, with a classic buttery and almond flavor. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would love to come back again.
