I visited around 2 PM and had the lunch set with 4 pieces of beef tongue for ¥1496. The beef tongue was tender and had a perfect balance of softness and chewiness. The oxtail soup had a gentle flavor. The barley rice was also delicious.

You can enjoy delicious thick-cut beef tongue here. It's really tasty and has a good chewy texture. It comes with soup, which is also delicious. It goes well with rice. It's a bit pricey though, you have to pay over 2000 yen. It would be more accessible if it was a bit cheaper.

I went there on Saturday afternoon. I had lunch and it was delicious and tender. My favorite was the grilled tongue, a classic dish. I also tried the tongue stew in a half portion, which was flavorful and delicious. I would like to go back again.

I went to Rikyu yesterday after having yakiniku, and I had a course that was packed with tan stew, tan sausage, and Yamagata-style simmered potatoes. The tan stew had a rich sauce. The Yamagata-style simmered potatoes had a slightly sweet soy sauce flavor. The tan sausage was delicious, but it would have been even better if it was cooked a bit more to be crispy and hot. The staff's smiles and service were excellent.

I had delicious beef tongue at "Rikyu" inside the station marche at JR Osaka Station. The beef tongue set meal may have been cheaper before, but I wonder if they raised the price? Nonetheless, the beef tongue was very tender and consistently tasty. The spiciness of the miso sauce still had that sharp kick to it! I love this miso flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I had the long-awaited Rikyu beef tongue bowl with sauce and the beef tongue set meal with salt and extra-grilled. When it comes to beef tongue, Rikyu's beef tongue is the best. The miso soup was delicious, the menu is diverse, and there are plenty of side dishes! Customers keep coming in one after another, showing how popular it is. ✨

Beef tongue stew set meal for 1595 yen (tax included). The barley rice had a nice texture. The soup had chunks of meat in it. The taste was hearty and salty, with the white stringy leeks adding a nice touch. However, it felt a bit too salty, almost spicy. The beef tongue stew tasted like beef stew. It was delicious when eaten with rice. The carrots and broccoli in the stew were a bit hard (cooked through). When biting into the carrots, there was a crunchy sound. The meat was large and the stew had a good flavor, but the beef tongue was overcooked and tough, so I couldn't enjoy the taste and texture of the beef tongue. Personally, I preferred the oxtail soup over the beef tongue stew. However, it was too salty when drunk quickly. The oxtail meat was tender and delicious. The beef tongue salad seemed like something you could buy at a supermarket deli, seasoned with spices like pepper. There was more beef tongue than salad. The beef tongue was delicious. I ordered the large portion of rice, but it was too much for me and I regretted it a bit. In conclusion, when I come back, I would like to try a different menu.

Before heading out on a business trip, I had lunch at "Riku," a beef tongue specialty restaurant located inside Ekimaru at Osaka Station. I remember there were quite a few beef tongue specialty restaurants in Tokyo, but I don't hear much about them in Osaka. Perhaps Osaka is more known for yakiniku, so the habit of just eating beef tongue might not be common here. I entered the restaurant and ordered the "Grilled Beef Tongue Set (8 slices) and Barley Toro Set" (1,551 yen). First, I tried the beef tongue, and it wasn't so much chewy as it was, well, a bit tough? The oxtail soup, on the other hand, had a rich flavor and was delicious. In the fiercely competitive yakiniku scene in Osaka, I might have to give this place a somewhat tough review. It might be worth it if it were a bit cheaper though.

☆ Dinner trip during a middle-aged man's work break (Osaka Station)!: I had work at Granvia Osaka and during my break, I decided to have dinner at Ekimarche Osaka. The sign advertising beef tongue looked very appetizing, so I chose this place! Ordered the "131 Fukutei Set" for 1892 yen including tax. The set includes 4 pieces of beef tongue, pickled Chinese cabbage, miso-marinated green chili peppers, barley rice, mini salad with roast tongue, mini beef tongue stew, tail soup with tail included, and seasonal Japanese sweets (matcha dumpling). First, the beef tongue had a gentle firmness that felt like ham. Sometimes beef tongue has this kind of texture. But it was delicious. The miso-marinated green chili peppers on the plate added a nice spiciness. The pickled Chinese cabbage refreshed the palate. The mini beef tongue stew was a great side dish for rice. The tail soup was light but had a rich tail broth flavor. The mini salad with beef tongue sashimi was also delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with the variety of beef tongue dishes. Cheers to the demanding set meal! Conclusion: The price is understandable considering it's beef tongue. I was very satisfied with the meal. However, since I usually base my expectations on grilled beef tongue, I'm not sure if this ham-like texture is normal. I've never had beef tongue in its birthplace, Sendai, so I don't know. Please let me know. Thank you for always liking, saving the restaurant, and following. If you can, please recommend other restaurants in the comments. Thank you all for your continued support.

I went shopping with my mother in Umeda and decided to have lunch since it was around noon. I asked her what she wanted to eat, and she said she wanted to have beef tongue, which she hadn't had in a while. So, instead of having a heavy meal like yakiniku, we decided to try out Rikyu Ekimarche. The restaurant had mainly table seats and a small counter area. It felt a bit cramped, so we decided to eat quickly and then go have tea somewhere else.
We ordered the beef tongue set meal for 1650 yen. It came with a small salad at the beginning. The beef tongue was cut into three pieces and was tender and easy to eat, although it felt a bit too soft. It came with a side of pickles, which were a bit salty, and it was best eaten with the barley rice. The tail soup was gentle, light, and comforting, and surprisingly, it was the most delicious part of the meal. My mother also liked how tender the beef tongue was, but she mentioned that she would like to try the authentic beef tongue in Sendai someday.
Overall, it was a satisfying meal at Rikyu Ekimarche in Osaka.

This is my first time dining at this store. I have only tried the Gokuyaki at Rikyu before. On this day, I ordered the beef tongue Gokuyaki with 4 pieces of 8 slices each, not as a set. Despite being quite thick, it was easy to chew as the knife cuts through smoothly, making it easy for women to eat. The pickled Chinese cabbage served generously like a salad is a nice touch for those ordering a set. For those like me who don't eat rice, it would be nice to have cabbage or salad as a substitute. Even if you're short on time, you can quickly eat alone and leave, and the location is convenient, so I think I will use it again.

Had lunch at Gyutan Yakiniku Rikyu in Ekimaru Shokudo at JR Osaka Station. I had been to their branch in Sendai before, but this was my first visit here. I chose the daily lunch special, which was the Gyutan (beef tongue) 2 pieces, 4 slices set meal for 1350 yen. It came with soup and barley rice. As always, I think that Gyutan from Sendai is delicious but the portion is small haha. The taste was very good.

I visited a restaurant at Osaka Station Marche because I wanted to eat a thick and voluminous beef tongue set meal. The place was full, but they quickly cleared a table for me to sit. Even on a Monday holiday night around 8 pm, it was crowded, so it must be a popular place. Inside the restaurant, there were elderly couples, a solo female diner, and myself, totaling 4 people. Rice refills were not available, but you could get a free extra-large portion. I ordered the salted beef tongue set meal with Miyagi specialty sweet potato soup for 1,705 yen (excluding tax) and a plum wine soda for 500 yen (excluding tax). The plum wine was not too sweet, with a mature and delicious taste that complemented the meat well. The sweet potato soup was piping hot with plenty of ingredients. It had a taste that reminded me of home. I could easily have another bowl of the soup alone. The miso chili paste was spicy! The flavor and spiciness of the chili were well balanced. The beef tongue was well-seasoned and slightly salty. It was so delicious that even with the extra-large rice portion, it wasn't enough. The side pickles were plentiful and a small but nice touch. They were refreshing and a nice palate cleanser. The waiter with white glasses had a very friendly and polite demeanor, which left a lasting impression. Next time, I want to try the zunda mochi parfait.

Today's lunch was a quick one, so I decided to grab a bite at Osaka Station's Ekimarche. I went into a place called "Rikyu" that I had never been to before. It was a bit small inside, with counter seats and table seats, and I was seated at a two-person table. I chose the daily lunch special B, which was grilled beef tongue. The meal came with barley rice, and you could add grated yam soup as an option, but I passed on that. The beef tongue was cooked nicely, with four slices, although the portion was a bit small. It looked delicious, especially when I sprinkled some red pepper on it. The spicy kick combined with the juicy flavor of the meat was really good. The pickled vegetables on the side were tasty, but they seemed to have a larger portion than the meat. The clear tail soup had a nice salty taste. Overall, the taste was good, but I wish there were more slices of beef tongue and a better balance with the barley rice.

A famous beef tongue restaurant originating from Sendai. This restaurant is also well-known as a chain in the local Sendai area. I had never visited this restaurant before when I went to several beef tongue restaurants in Sendai in the past, as I saw it around Sendai Station. It's easy to think that you can always eat there. So, this was my first time trying the beef tongue at "Rikyu". I visited during lunchtime and was able to get a table easily as it was not yet crowded. The restaurant only had table seating. There were also individual seats with a privacy board placed in the center of the table. The staff at this restaurant are good at recommending dishes. I ended up ordering the beef tongue set with 3 pieces and added grated yam for an extra charge. The plate of charcoal-grilled beef tongue came with a side of green chili pepper miso sauce and pickled Chinese cabbage. The side dishes included burdock and beef tongue simmered in soy sauce, miso soup, and barley rice. It may depend on the grilling technique, but it didn't suit my taste. However, switching to the barley rice with beef tongue topping in the second half was a good choice.

A beef tongue restaurant located just west of JR Osaka Station. The restaurant has 4 counter seats, 1 table for 6 people, and 4 tables for 4 people. It opened in Ekimaru Market on October 31, 2012. The first store opened in Izumi-ku, Sendai in 1987. The "Beef Tongue Set Meal" costs 1,782 yen and includes 3 slices of beef tongue, which are so flavorful that you'll want to savor each bite. The accompanying pickled Chinese cabbage enhances the flavors. The spicy Nanbanzuke is made with green chili pepper miso, giving it a kick. The "Oxtail Soup" contains about 4 oxtail pieces and has a light but flavorful broth. The barley rice in the set meal is available in a large portion for free. The "Egg and Grated Yam" side dish costs 324 yen and uses maximum quality eggs from Amada Tokyo, known for their rich yolks. The "Beef Tongue [Ultimate] Grilled (a la carte)" costs 2,009 yen and features beef tongue slices that are twice as thick as usual, with a juicy, red center. The salt provided enhances the sweetness and mineral-rich flavor. The restaurant is usually crowded by 5:00 PM. Happy Hour is from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, offering drinks like Asahi Super Dry, Black Nikka Highball, wine, and various juices for 324 yen, as well as soft drinks for 108 yen. Takeout and bento options are available. Check out their blog for more updates: "God, give me a body that doesn't gain weight even if I eat" - http://ameblo.jp/ainishiuma

After enjoying a fun comedy show at Namba Grand Kagetsu, I returned to Osaka for a late dinner. Opting for a convenient location near the station, I chose to dine at "Rikyu," a restaurant I sometimes visit. I usually go for the regular set meal, but this time I chose a set with a smaller portion of beef tongue and included grated yam and salad. The set meal cost ¥1620. The salad arrived first, a small but delicious mix with beef tongue ham. The grated yam was ready to be seasoned with soy sauce. Soon after, the oxtail soup was served with plenty of leeks and oxtail, enhanced by a sprinkle of pepper. The rice and beef tongue followed, with the option to choose from small, regular, or large portions of rice. I opted for the regular size. I like my beef tongue cooked to a medium level. The pickled Chinese cabbage and spicy miso paste were also tasty accompaniments. The beef tongue was tender and flavorful, and when paired with the grated yam on rice, it was simply delicious. Once again, I left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

【This Visit】
(Visited this time: December 2018, First visit: December 2018)
- Ordered set meals
- Bottle of beer 600 yen +
- Gyuutan Gokumai 3 pieces set meal 2310 yen +
- Tax 232 yen =
- Total 3,142 yen per person
【Results】
- The food was delicious as usual
- It's been a while since I last visited Toshikazu
- Compared to a past review from December 2011 at the "Gyuutan Yakiniku Toshikazu Sendai Station Store" in Sendai, where the Gokumai 3 pieces set meal was 1,995 yen
■ Comparison with the posted photos...
- This time's food, menu, and Sendai's Toshikazu store
【Comparison Results】
Grilling: Too burnt. The amount of charred parts in the photos is different from Sendai's
Amount: The amount of meat is less. The size of one piece of Gyuutan is larger in the photos from both places
Thickness of meat: The meat is thin. The Gyuutan is thick in the photos from both places
The reasons for the lower rating are:
- Gyuutan... If you want to eat it, Sendai might be better
- Customers from Sendai may have refined tastes, so the quality of Gyuutan restaurants there may be better
- Gyuutan should be eaten in Sendai!
This time, I learned a lot. Thank you for the meal~(*^_^*)☺☻☺☻☺☻

In November 2018, I explored the area near JR Osaka Station Sakurabashi Exit and decided on a lunch spot at "Rikyu Ekimarche Osaka Store" for the first time. It was my first time visiting a restaurant specializing in Sendai's famous beef tongue dish. I arrived at 12:30 pm and was seated immediately, although the restaurant was full. I ordered the "Beef Tongue 2 pieces 4 slices set meal" from the lunch menu as recommended by the staff, priced at 1350 yen including tax. The set meal included beef tongue, rice (with free large serving option), beef tail soup, pickled Chinese cabbage, green chili miso, and a choice of drink (iced coffee, oolong tea, orange juice, or grapefruit juice). The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and while it may have taken a bit of time, the service was polite and there were no issues. The beef tongue was tender and flavorful, and the beef tail soup had a rich taste. Overall, it was a satisfying experience trying out a beef tongue restaurant without having to travel far.

I went to Rikyu in Sendai six years ago and haven't been back since. The beef tongue they serve is different from the thin slices you typically get at yakiniku restaurants, and the oxtail soup is delicious. I'm glad they have a branch in Umeda. I always consider ordering other dishes like stew, but in the end, the beef tongue set meal is the best!
