I made a net reservation for 18:30 on a regular day. It is an authentic Edo-style sushi restaurant located a 7-minute walk from Keihan "Oe Bridge Station" on the 3rd floor of the Tanaka Building, a Michelin Bib Gourmand Osaka 2023. The name of the restaurant "Akatoshiro" comes from the color of the vinegar rice used depending on the topping. The restaurant has a total of 17 seats (9 counter seats, 8 table seats) in a small shop. The shop was run with a formation of one main chef in the preparation area, one in the kitchen, and two in customer service. The course I ordered this time was the "7700 yen course." The contents and evaluations are as follows: [◎, 〇, △] Flounder, Mackerel, Albacore Tuna - The seared and aged toppings served quickly were outstanding. Clam Soup - The clam soup with a good balance was excellent. Cherry Salmon - The contrast between the warm toppings and white vinegar rice was good. Steamed Egg Custard with Sea Urchin and Crab - The hot dish with sea urchin and crab topping was impressive. Firefly Squid - A small piece with a deep acidity. Red Vinegar-marinated Snapper - The wasabi added depth to the dish. Snapper with Miso Glaze - A masterpiece with crushed mugwort and snapper complementing each other. Red Prawn - The prawn boiled to the right texture with white vinegar. Eel Pressed Sushi - A unique dish with egg and sansho pepper. Pickles - Cucumber, eggplant, radish, greens, and pickled ginger were all fresh and delicious. Medium Fatty Tuna - The flavor was concentrated. Sea Urchin, Salmon Roe, and Squid Ink Rice Bowl - A stunning dish that impressed even the Korean guests at the next table. Striped Jack - A great start to the final sprint. Red Vinegar-simmered Conger Eel - A very tender and delicate finish. Hand Roll - Toro tuna hand roll. Clear Soup - A miso soup with long yam and egg. Dessert - A strawberry and Dekopon jelly, a perfect closer. Green Tea - A classic green tea. Beer (Heartland) 900 yen - A light beer served in a thin glass as expected in a high-end restaurant. There was no background music. The clientele consisted of inbound people (Korean, American) and adults from the Shinchi area. The restaurant was about 70% full, with a female ratio of about 40%. At the time of the visit, the Tabelog rating was 3.33. The quick pace of the meal service, which was conscious of accompanying youths, was a plus, perhaps due to the location in Kita-Shinchi. The skilled hands of the main chef, Mr. Ugetsu, who holds the titles of sake sommelier and Chinese herbal medicine expert, and the pleasant attitude of the staff were also appealing. It was a hidden gem with excellent cost performance and service in a Michelin-starred dinner that brought bliss to the taste buds. Thank you for the meal! I'll be back.

I made a reservation after checking the table availability and visited the restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant on the 3rd floor of a mixed-use building was very nice. The chef quietly goes about his work. The balance between the sushi and the side dishes is very good. The side dishes are also creatively prepared, making it enjoyable not only to eat but also to look at. The sushi is classic and delicious. Considering that it is in Shinchi, the restaurant offers great value for the price. The fact that the prices are affordable may contribute to a slightly younger customer base.

A shop on the 3rd floor of a building in Kitashinchi. The cozy interior has counter seats and private tables, and they serve delicious sushi using two types of red vinegar rice. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. Normally, sushi is served last after appetizers, but here, sushi is also served in between. The fish is directly delivered from Ehime. It was so delicious that I added a few more pieces to my course menu. Surprisingly, even foreigners visit this hidden gem. They also choose the sake that goes well with the food. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back.

I finally managed to make a reservation for a day I could go. It was a course that cost around 7,000 yen, I think. Every dish from the beginning to the end was delicious. The balance of the dishes and the timing of their arrival were perfect. The staff were friendly and the head chef, although quiet, was not unpleasant at all. He even made sure to look at the camera. It was really delicious!

A sushi restaurant in Kitashinchi! Akatoshiro offers course meals with both counter and table seating options. The tables have a semi-private feel to them. Although I prefer sitting at the counter, this time we chose a table. The dishes served were great, with the sushi being small but delicious. There was a good variety of items served. The only downside was that the sushi rice was too cold.

Akashiro has been rumored to have the strongest cost performance for a while. Although the price seems to have gone up a bit, I chose the 11,000 yen course with the largest variety of dishes on this day. The sushi rice was used differently depending on the topping, but personally, both seemed a bit too warm. The selection of toppings for both dishes and nigiri was carefully chosen, and efforts were made to ensure that the eating experience did not become monotonous. The explanations and speed of service for the toppings were somewhat lacking, but considering the format of the restaurant, it may be unavoidable due to operational reasons. When considering the variety, quality, and location, the price, even though it has increased, is still significantly cheaper than similar sushi restaurants in Kita-Shinchi.

When four of us visited, we sat at a table and enjoyed a variety of dishes and well-made sushi. However, the sliding door blocked the breeze, making it uncomfortably hot. Despite that, we had a satisfying meal. If it weren't for the heat, it would have been a great sushi restaurant! Thank you for the meal.

Located on the third floor of a building near Kitashinchi Hon-dori and Midosuji, this sushi restaurant is known for its high cost performance. The interior is well-designed, with a counter, a small garden, dim lighting to create atmosphere, and even small private rooms where guests can take off their shoes. I tried the 7,700 yen omakase course, which included a variety of appetizers like nodoguro and firefly squid, as well as elaborate sushi dishes ranging from cherry snapper to chutoro and sea urchin. The sushi pieces were small but well-crafted, showcasing the flavors of the season. The restaurant also has a surprisingly large wine cellar with a selection of wines and champagnes available at reasonable prices. I tried the Henri Giraud Esprit Nature champagne, which had a rich, enveloping aroma and a warm finish that complemented the sushi perfectly. While this may not be the best choice for those looking for detailed information about the origin of the ingredients or the timing of the sushi rice, the overall experience at this restaurant is impressive considering its location, price, and variety. I enjoyed a special course at the counter seat, consisting of 5 appetizers, 10 pieces of sushi, rolls, soup, and more. Both the appetizers and sushi were delicious. My reservation was at 6:00 pm, but there were a lot of customers at the same time. It's popular, isn't it? The sushi rice is unique and you can taste the flavor of the rice! It's firm, maybe. It's very delicious. I heard that there are quite a few dishes, but the portions are relatively small and the size of the toppings is just right, so I was able to eat a lot. The sea urchin, marinated tuna, steamed eel sushi, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and fatty tuna were especially delicious. Delicate flavors, various types of sake, and a wonderful restaurant. We drank sake and it cost around 35,000 yen for two people. I want to go again!

The 7 pm reservation seemed a bit early as the pace of the sushi dishes was also a bit rushed. I would have been happier if it was a bit slower. Besides the sushi, there was chawanmushi and dessert included, making it a great value for the price. The atmosphere is nice, and there are private rooms available, making it suitable for any occasion.

In Kita-Shinchi, there is a sushi restaurant that offers a course including sea urchin and nodoguro for only 6000 yen, which has been selected for the Bib Gourmand award for two consecutive years. When I visited with my wife's parents, we found the private rooms for four people to be quite small, so we thought sitting at the counter might be better if available. Despite not having high expectations due to the 6000 yen course, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes, including delicious sashimi, nodoguro, uni with ikura on a small bowl, and more. The quality of the ingredients exceeded our expectations, and we could see why the restaurant has received the Bib Gourmand award for two years in a row. The sushi was small in size but well-prepared, with each piece offering a unique and delicious taste. We were initially worried about getting full, but with 5 appetizers, 10 pieces of sushi, rolled sushi, tamago, red miso soup, and dessert included in the course, we left completely satisfied. For 6000 yen, this course offers incredible value and is highly recommended for those looking to enjoy high-quality sushi at an affordable price in Kita-Shinchi!

Akatoshiro is located in Kitashinchi, on the left side of Shinchi Hondori, just off Midosuji Street in the Tanaka Building on the 3rd floor. We made a reservation for 2 people after checking for seat availability on Instagram. We ordered a set menu which included 5 appetizers, 12 pieces of nigiri sushi, rolled sushi, tamago, and soup for 6600 yen, plus additional charges for alcohol. We arrived for our 6:00 pm reservation and were seated at the counter with 8 seats, as the previous customers were enjoying beer. The meal included appetizers such as blackthroat seaperch, steamed conger eel, scallop nigiri, red snapper, flounder with kelp, and chawanmushi with softshell turtle, edamame, and coconut. The nigiri sushi included squid, marinated tuna, grilled bigscale pomfret with passion fruit, red shrimp, pressed eel sushi, fatty tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe, among others. The meal also featured dishes like sandfish grilled with miso, a roll of fatty tuna, and egg for dessert. We enjoyed sake such as Isojiman Seishun from Shizuoka, Mimuro Sugi Junmai Daiginjo from Nara, and Miyatake on the rocks, as well as shochu and whisky. The counter seating was much more spacious than the private rooms. Overall, dining on sushi and drinks in Kitashinchi for around 10,000 yen was impressive. "Thank you for the meal!"

When it comes to Osaka's Kitashinchi, it's a highly competitive area with some very expensive places and some with relatively good cost performance. Since I don't have much money, I tend to avoid the really expensive places and prefer to find places with good cost performance. This place had a hidden gem feel to it. We went for the omakase course for around 8000 yen. I have some photos this time (not all of them, I got a bit drunk halfway through, haha), so I'll skip the details. To sum it up, it was so delicious. In terms of cost performance, it was more than enough. So, I've already decided to come back next time. With the end of COVID approaching, it's bound to become harder to book, so I highly recommend this place.

Kitashinchi - red and white! There was a counter and tables, and I was seated at a table without being asked anything. I chose a course with a smaller amount! I think the course was around 6000 yen. It was definitely a sufficient amount. The taste was average.. but at this price in Shinchi, it's amazing! Thank you for the meal.

I heard that this restaurant is always full, but luckily a table became available so I made a reservation right away. The interior has a counter and table seating. This time, I had my meal at a table. I love the calming atmosphere with doors. They serve a variety of dishes from small plates to sushi at the right timing. They have a wide selection of sake, and even though there is no menu, they will recommend something based on your taste preference. Everything is easy to drink. It's a reasonably priced place that I would like to visit again if there is availability. Thank you for the meal.
