Located a 3-4 minute walk from Sendagaya Station, within walking distance of Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, National Stadium, and Jingu Stadium. I have been using this shop occasionally for about a year, always for takeout bento, so this was my first time dining in. The bento boxes were always delicious and satisfying, so this time I decided to try something different that I couldn't get in a bento box - the "Borga Rice" from Fukui Prefecture. The visual presentation was fantastic! An omelette rice in the center of a large plate with tonkatsu leaning against it, generously topped with demi-glace sauce, looked very appetizing. The miso soup and potato salad on the serving tray also looked great. I started by savoring the omelette rice. The egg was creamy and smooth, and the chicken rice had a nostalgic flavor. It was delicious with a comforting taste! Next, I tried the tonkatsu. It was the perfect thickness, crispy, and very easy to eat. The demi-glace sauce had a strong acidity, making the sauce flavor prominent. When eaten together, the omelette rice and tonkatsu matched perfectly and tasted incredibly delicious! Being able to enjoy two childhood favorite foods - omelette rice and tonkatsu - at once was a joy! The retro and nostalgic atmosphere of the shop added to the experience. The menu offers a variety of options including Western, chicken, pork, fish, and curry dishes! Since Sendagaya has few dining options, a casual diner like this shop that offers a wide range of dishes is highly valuable!

The portion size is generous, so it's recommended for guys. I ordered the Sendagaya baked curry. I visited at 4 pm, not for lunch, but there were a few regular customers. I missed lunch, but the portion was so substantial that I didn't need dinner. If you like Natsume songs, you might find it calming. Thank you for the meal.

During a regular lunchtime visit, I revisited the restaurant a little before 12 o'clock. The seating inside was 90% full, with many students making it lively. It took about 10 minutes from ordering to the meal being served. I ordered the weekly special menu, which was the Pork and Miso Stir-Fry Set for ¥1,050. I was curious about what the Pork and Miso Stir-Fry would taste like. When the dish arrived, it looked like ginger pork, but when I took a bite, it didn't have any ginger flavor. I couldn't taste any spiciness either, and there was no shichimi togarashi on the table for added heat, which disappointed me as a fan of spicy food. The side dishes like cabbage, potatoes, and spaghetti were okay, but the potatoes seemed like they were pre-made. However, there was a generous amount of rice, and the miso soup had plenty of ingredients, making me want a refill. For the price of ¥1,050, it felt a bit expensive, so I hope they can adjust it to a more rounded amount like ¥1,000. Despite this, I decided to revisit the restaurant in the future.

During a regular lunchtime visit around a little past 12 o'clock, the restaurant was fully packed with a 100% occupancy rate. There were four people waiting outside for a seat. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I finally got a table and ordered the Volcano Rice for ¥1,050. It was my first time trying Volcano Rice, which was like a combination of chicken rice, a soft omelette on top, and a tonkatsu with beef stew sauce. The omelette and tonkatsu were not served piping hot, which was the most notable aspect. Due to the limited dining options in the area, I will definitely revisit this restaurant, but I may not order this particular dish again.

During a regular lunchtime visit around 1pm, I revisited the restaurant previously known as Tokyo Kitchen Sengoku Gaya Branch, now renamed as Sengoku Kitchen. The place was fully packed with a waiting time of about 5 minutes. I ordered the Tare Katsu Don for ¥1,050, which seemed quite a price increase from the last time I visited when it was ¥880 (apologies if I remembered incorrectly). The Niigata specialty Tare Katsu features a thin pork cutlet soaked in sauce, maintaining a crispy texture while absorbing plenty of sauce for a moist and sweet taste. The rice portion was standard at 200g, with the option to upgrade to a free 300g serving. The miso soup had a homely flavor with generous amounts of seaweed and fried tofu, though it would be nice if refills were complimentary. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere reminiscent of a local western-style eatery, exuding a relaxed vibe that I enjoy. I've decided to revisit this place again.

In March, I had lunch in Sendagaya, Tokyo. The restaurant is Sendagaya Kitchen in the Sendagaya area. The location is about a 5-minute walk from Sendagaya Station. It has a historical feel but also feels clean and well-maintained, leaving a good impression. Inside the restaurant, there are black and white photos that seem to depict old Tokyo.
I tried the fluffy omelette rice for 880 yen, which was recommended. The omelette rice had a nice three-dimensional appearance. Interestingly, it was served with miso soup instead of regular soup. The taste was pleasantly orthodox. The chicken rice inside had a hint of ketchup, which I enjoyed.
Towards the end of my meal, more customers started to arrive. Some seemed like locals, which made me think that this restaurant is rooted in the local community. As I left the restaurant, I felt satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

During a weekday lunchtime, I revisited a restaurant a little before 12 o'clock. The restaurant was fully packed, so I had to wait for 5 minutes before being seated. I ordered the simmered hamburger steak set from the regular menu for ¥850. The hamburger steak was a bit firm, but not so hard that I needed a knife to cut it. It was just the right texture, probably because it was simmered. I appreciated that the restaurant served Western food but provided chopsticks instead of a knife and fork, and also included miso soup. The prices are reasonable, but I noticed that the weekly special menu items are gradually increasing in price. I wonder how long I will be able to enjoy a lunch for under ¥1,000 here. I have decided to revisit this restaurant again.

After researching and finding out that the desired restaurant was unexpectedly closed, both of us were starving... Princess suggested, "Isn't this place fine?" with a sad face. We were too hungry to search for another place on food review websites, so we decided to stop at the neighboring restaurant. Looking at the menu in the showcase, we ordered a hamburger set and an omurice. The interior of the restaurant was lovely, with beautiful lighting and old Tokyo landscapes on the walls. I ordered the hamburger and chicken garlic sauté set with miso soup for ¥1230, while Princess ordered the hamburger and shrimp fry set for ¥1100. The food was served in less than 6 minutes, surprisingly fast. However, despite our high expectations due to hunger, the food did not impress us. Our faces when leaving the restaurant: Me ( - ω -") and Princess ( ̄^ ̄). In such situations, it's best to quietly disappear without a word.笑

I went during the day on a regular weekday. It was just before 12 o'clock, so I was able to enter without any problems. After 12 o'clock, more people started coming in, but there was no wait. I ordered something called "Bolgarice," which is a combination of cutlet and demiglace omurice. It was delicious! However, the portion was small! Maybe I should have ordered a heartier menu.

On a typical day, I revisited the restaurant around 12:30 PM and found that it was 80% full, with many students present. I ordered the weekly lunch special, which this week was a Japanese-style hamburger steak set with 2 pieces of fried chicken for ¥1,100. The hamburger steak was more steamed than grilled, with a slightly tangy Japanese-style sauce that paired well with grated radish. While the hamburger steak was not very juicy, it was light and refreshing. The fried chicken seemed to have been prepared in advance and had cooled down, which was a bit disappointing, but it was an additional side dish so it was within expectations. Despite being a Western dish, it was nice to have miso soup included, which was homey and filled with plenty of ingredients. I have decided to revisit this restaurant.

The taste was good, but overall it was not very warm which was disappointing. The restaurant was crowded but the food came out quickly, so maybe it was already partially prepared.

When watching sports at the National Stadium, you must try the Bentos from Sendagaya Kitchen. They are cheap and delicious. Recommended options include pork ginger, chicken cutlet, hamburger, salted mackerel, and meat and vegetable stir-fry... can't choose, they're all delicious.

This was my first time visiting Chidorigafuchi Kitchen, formerly known as Tokyo Kitchen. I had never tried Volga Rice before, but the combination of Tonkatsu and Omurice was surprisingly good. The home-cooked feel of the food was nice. I would like to visit again for lunch.
