I went to buy the meat buns at Lugang on the Setagaya Line after a long time, but unfortunately, they were closed for the New Year holidays. So, I went to San'nouchaya on the Setagaya Line instead. The place called "Bao Bao" was open! They had a variety of meat buns in different sizes, flavors like black sesame, curry, and even lotus seed paste. In total, they had 27 types of buns, including flower rolls and steamed buns. I ended up buying 11 buns and also got a Negipai snack for 100 yen. The Negipai had a crispy texture like fried wonton skin and was delicious. The buns had a simple and rustic taste, not as strong as convenience store or Chinatown meat buns, which was exactly what I was craving for today. I especially liked the shrimp bun.

A dim sum master's meat bun shop in Sangenjaya Arcade. The meat buns have a firm and springy texture with a well-kneaded filling that holds everything together. The shrimp chili bun has a gentle flavor with eggs to balance out the spiciness. The chicken bun overflows with the deliciousness of chicken and shiitake mushrooms. All the fillings have a mild taste, allowing the sweet and moist skin to shine. The daikon mochi-like mochi is also delicious, with pumpkin and taro providing a chewy and tasty experience!

When I visit Sangenjaya, I always make a detour to Echo and buy some daikon mochi. This time, I found a pack of 3 different flavors. I also bought a small meat bun. The taro was sticky and dense, while the potato was abundant and hearty. Both were lightly seasoned, allowing for customization with sauce. However, the pumpkin flavor was a bit off. It had sweetness but felt somewhat incomplete as a side dish. The meat bun had a consistent taste, with a generous filling that had a nice meaty texture. It was delicious.

When it comes to steamed buns, there are also Chinese-style ones in the Setagaya area. Compared to those, they offer freshly steamed buns, so they are better in that aspect. However, here you can find affordable and easily accessible side dishes like pig ears and pig feet, which are very convenient.

This time, I got Mararukao (large) for 200 yen and Yomogi Hanamaki for 100 yen to take home. They have a wide variety of items, all at a reasonable price! Some items are even less than 100 yen each, which is surprising. The flavors are simple and gentle. Perfect for breakfast or a snack.

I can't just pass by, can't do it, can't do it. Because it's like an echo, I go to Sankachaya and say, "Bring back some meat buns!" The silent pressure comes, and I say, "Okay, I'll buy them." With a variety of options, I end up buying the classic meat bun while hesitating. It's hot inside! The thin, slightly sweet skin, the firm and bouncy filling, and when you bite into it, it bounces back. It's not the type with meat juice, but rather a refreshing one. The taste is super to my liking. It's different from Chinatown and 551, but it has a good balance.

When I used to work in Sangenjaya, I would visit this shop about once a year for the past 3 years. After quitting my job and moving to the mountains of Saitama, I thought I wouldn't be able to come back. But then I got sick and had to move back to Tokyo. I wanted to buy some vegetables from a place where they were sold, so I found a direct sales store that I could reach by train. On the way back, I stopped by a crepe shop. Despite many restaurants closing due to the pandemic, I decided to visit the old shop "Houhou" on a whim. I had a lot of shopping bags with heavy vegetables, but I stopped and bought some snacks. I bought a Negipai for 100 yen, a Mame Maki for 90 yen, and a Peanut Roll for 90 yen. The Negipai is like a thin fried senbei with a nice aroma and saltiness. The Mame Maki and Peanut Roll are simple and delicious, best enjoyed warm. The Mame Maki had green beans while the Peanut Roll had peanuts. Both were soft and not too sweet, making them easy to eat. I prefer the Peanut Roll. I wonder if I can visit again next year. If I have the chance, I will go again.

I got three kinds of buns: meat bun (medium), pumpkin bun, and custard bun, but I forgot the name of the place. After steaming them at home for about 10 minutes, oh my, they were surprisingly delicious. The bun is quite thick but not at all dry. The dough is so tasty. I realized that convenience store meat buns are quite mushy compared to this. As someone who is used to convenience store meat buns, I thought the filling might be a bit lacking when I opened it, but surprisingly, it was not. The filling in the meat bun had a crunchy texture, which paired well with the fluffy dough. The pumpkin bun tasted like real pumpkin, simple but good. The custard bun had a strong egg yolk flavor, not fake custard. I loved it. There were so many different kinds of buns, so I'll definitely be coming back for more.

I finished my errands in Sangenjaya and stopped by this meat bun specialty shop. It was a bit tricky to find as it was tucked away in a side street, so I had some trouble with the map on Tabelog, but I eventually found it. I bought a regular meat bun for myself and a spicy bun for my companion. I was lazy and didn't heat them up, so the skin was dry and I couldn't eat it without some moisture, but I could still taste the sweetness of the dough. The pork filling was generous, and if heated, it might have been juicy. The spicy bun my companion had still had a tingling spiciness even when cold, so I imagine it would be quite spicy when heated. The balance is good with the sweet dough.

I had always wanted to visit this shop, but I forgot to go once after adding it to my list. One day, I happened to pass by and finally got to buy something! The staff at the shop are Chinese, so the taste was authentic Chinese. They had a wide variety of items, and the prices were not too high. I was happy to see sesame manju and taro mochi, which are hard to find in Japan! I think it would be even better if they reduced the amount of oil used. I always make sure to stop by and buy something whenever I come to Sangenjaya. I will continue to be a repeat customer in the future!

Located in the somewhat run-down shopping street of Sangenjaya, this shop gives off a Chinese vibe at first glance. The staff members also seem to be from China. Due to my job, I used to visit China several times a year, but haven't been able to go since the outbreak of the coronavirus. It already feels nostalgic. The shop offers a variety of bao buns, and without any prior information, I decided to buy 5 or 6 different kinds. From the classic ones to more adventurous flavors, I tried them all. Personally, I prefer the skin of the bao buns over the filling, so I also bought some mantou buns with just the skin. They were all delicious and offered great value for money. Thank you for the meal.

Echo Shotengai is a local shopping street that I love. I arrived early and found that most of the bakeries in Sangenjaya were already sold out, so I decided to buy some meat buns as souvenirs instead. They accept payment with PayPay, and I was surprised by how widely it is used. The staff from the continent was wrapping the buns energetically and talking loudly, saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" I managed to get their attention and successfully purchased two small buns and one medium bun. The prices were really cheap, as if time had stopped. I gave the medium bun to my daughter and enjoyed a bit of the small bun myself, savoring its crispy texture. The filling had a strong flavor, juicy but not overly so, with a good balance. It was really delicious, and I wondered why I hadn't bought it before. The variety of flour-based products in Sangenjaya is truly impressive.

CP is good, authentic Chinese steamed buns. They have a wide variety of items. This time, I ordered the small pork bun for 90 yen and the small shrimp bun for 180 yen. They are fluffy and delicious - handmade Chinese steamed buns. You can take them home as souvenirs or eat them on the spot. It seems like they have been featured on TV multiple times.

In the Nakamise area in front of Sangenjaya Station, there is a meat bun shop. Pao pao, wrap wrap, meat bun~♪ I bought meat buns and shrimp buns, there are so many types to choose from. I went for the regular meat bun and the delicious-looking shrimp bun. I steamed them at home and they warmed up nicely. Wow, the shrimp bun has actual shrimp in it, so tasty! The dough is thick and satisfying. The meat bun is small-sized but still has a good chewy texture. The seasoning is not greasy and very tasty. It's usually a winter favorite, but it's delicious even in summer.

A specialty shop for Chinese buns and dim sum located right near Sangenjaya Station. The shop is small and offers takeout only. In addition to pork buns, they also have a variety of side dishes like spring rolls, rice tamales, dumplings, and pickled vegetables. This time, I bought the classic pork bun (large) for 300 yen to take home. If you want to eat on the go, they will heat it up for you on the spot. The pork bun has a rich flavor from the pork and shiitake mushrooms, with a strong dashi taste. The bun itself is soft and fluffy, making it delicious on its own. They have a variety of Chinese buns available, so I'm curious to try more.

If you eat the "meat bun (small)" warm on the street, the fluffy texture is impressive. It has a light and refreshing taste. The "pickled mustard greens Dongpo meat bun" that I brought home was also delicious. The reputation of the meat bun shops in the shopping street near the station in Sangenjaya was good. On the last day of Golden Week, we decided to go on a meat bun tour. The second stop was here, near Sangenjaya Station. We wanted something warm from the wide variety of products, so we bought a "meat bun (small) - 90 yen" each with my wife. The small size for 90 yen was reasonable. When we bit into it immediately, the fluffy and soft texture of the skin was good, and the filling was lightly seasoned and juicy. We also bought the "pickled mustard greens Dongpo meat bun - 330 yen," "barbecue pork bun - 180 yen," "mushroom bun - 180 yen," "pumpkin bun - 150 yen," and "green onion pie - 100 yen" to take home. That night, we ate the "pickled mustard greens Dongpo meat bun" and the "barbecue pork bun." The strong flavor of the "barbecue pork bun" was not to my liking, but the "pickled mustard greens Dongpo meat bun" had a very good flavor from ingredients like pickled mustard greens. Now, on to the third stop in Meidaimae #Eating and walking around popular meat buns in Tokyo.

Yesterday, I couldn't find the restaurant I had reserved and ended up discovering this dim sum specialty shop - BaoBao in Sangenjaya. It's located in a quaint alley near the station with a wide variety of dim sum. I love dim sum, so I was thrilled. The kitchen was visible, and when I asked, I found out that the owners are a couple from Guangzhou. I bought some meat buns to take home - they were fluffy, with a chewy skin that was delicious. The meat filling was similar to the ones I've had in Hong Kong-style dim sum, and it was incredibly tasty! And the best part is that they only cost around 100 yen each. I was pleasantly surprised! I will definitely go back for more! ❤️(^o^)

I bought some handmade dim sum from a few shops located in the triangular area near Sangenjaya Station and had them as snacks for drinking at home. Here are the items I tried:
- Nikuman (180 yen): Fluffy skin filled with plenty of meat and shiitake mushrooms, full of savory flavor.
- Takana (200 yen): Lightly seasoned with a good crunch, perfect as a snack or with rice.
- Shumai (650 yen): Three types of shumai - meat, shiitake, and shrimp, all fluffy and delicious.
- Buta no ashi (330 yen): Chewy and bouncy pig trotters with a rich flavor, perfect when warmed up.
The staff were cute and the packaging was secure. I would love to visit again when I'm in Sangenjaya.

Located in Sancho's Sancha Triangle, this shop offers a variety of sizes and types of authentic buns made by experts. The meat buns are delicious, with meat similar to shumai. It's convenient to use PayPay for payment, making it easy to purchase. Thank you for the meal!

I found a shop in a corner of an arcade street like Sangenjaya that sells dim sum. Despite being a small shop, they have a wide variety of options. The items are wrapped in plastic wrap, but if you want to eat there, they will heat it up for you in the microwave, so it's a convenient shop. However, the staff, I think they are Chinese, their service was a bit sloppy which was irritating. So, I purchased a "meat bun (small)" for 90 yen including tax. They heated it up in the microwave, but it didn't warm up properly and was cold. The meat filling was small in amount and not very flavorful. The bamboo shoot was crunchy. The dough was moist and sticky.
