I visited the restaurant "Tom Yum Kung and Daily Specials Bar Chiribaru Oimachi Store" for the first time during lunchtime in late January, located about a 4-minute walk from JR Oimachi Station West Exit in a hidden alley. This place is the sister store of the popular Malaysian restaurant "Chiribari" in Osaki. The small and cozy interior with only 5 counter seats has a friendly atmosphere, managed by a very friendly and approachable master. The lunch menu offers three options: the signature dish "Tom Yum Kung," Thai-style one-plate rice "Larb Gai," and "Vietnamese Pho." I chose the "Tom Yum Kung" (950 yen) with noodles, specifically vermicelli noodles. The soup was flavorful and not overly sour or spicy like many other places, with a hint of lemongrass for fragrance. The shrimp, chicken, mushrooms, and cilantro in the soup were delicious, and the noodles complemented the soup well. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would love to come back for dinner sometime.

I finally managed to visit a new restaurant that had no previous visitors based on the information I received. You can choose the type of noodles, but it turns out to be pho. The Tom Yum Kung costs 1000 yen, and adding noodles costs an extra 220 yen, as displayed in the store. I ordered it with noodles. You can choose whether to have coriander or not. After a considerable wait, the dish arrived in less than 15 minutes. Despite the pho noodles having a short boiling time, it seems like they were boiling the water after I placed my order. The soup was really delicious. According to the staff, Malaysian Tom Yum Kung uses ingredients like coconut milk to add sweetness, making it less sour and spicy compared to Thai versions. It was creamy and rich in flavor, with a mild sourness that made it easy to enjoy. The dish included various ingredients typical of Tom Yum, including mushrooms. There were two medium-sized shrimp as well. The total bill came to 1650 yen. I initially thought it would be 1320 yen for the Tom Yum at 1100 yen (including noodles at 220 yen), but there was an additional mysterious 330 yen charge. It could have been for water or seating fee, or perhaps it was a service charge of exactly 25%. Considering the serving time and price, it seems more suitable for a second round of drinks with friends, rather than quickly eating noodles alone. When I mentioned that I had missed visiting once before, I was informed that the restaurant is open daily, but the opening hours may vary depending on the day. The soup was delicious and unique. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat Tom Yum Kung so I visited this restaurant for the first time. I ordered a mini Larb Gai Rice and a mini Tom Yum Kung. The Tom Yum Kung was rich and full of ingredients, with a less sour taste which I really liked! The Larb Gai Rice was also delicious with fragrant rice. The quality exceeded my expectations and the prices were reasonable, so I was very satisfied. Although I went for a meal this time, I think it would be even more enjoyable to go for drinks next time. The owner and the staff were friendly and easy to talk to.

I came here after seeing it on Instagram. This is the second branch where the head store is located in Gotanda, and apparently the store manager changes daily. The menu includes appetizers like boiled edamame for 380 yen, and stir-fried red sausages for 380 yen. The dishes have a simple and rustic flavor, which I love. I also tried the half-size Tom Yum Kung for 500 yen, which is made at the main store and tastes very authentic. The jasmine rice was also delicious, with a firm texture and sweetness. It seems like a good place to drop by late at night, and I'm glad I found it. I might come back here next time I feel like finishing a meal with something spicy. Thank you for the meal.

I saw Shinagawa Keizai Shimbun and was lucky to be able to get a seat right away at a place with only 5 seats during lunchtime. There are three menu options, and today I ordered the Larb Gai. It looks similar to Gapao, but instead of basil, it has a strong lime flavor and is topped with cilantro, so the taste is quite different. The Larb Gai itself is delicious, but the vegetables served with it are hard to eat, and I think it could do without the salt. The soup could use a little improvement. Since it's still a new establishment, I have high hopes for improvement. By the way, my companion was enjoying the Tom Yum Goong in pho style and was praising the deliciousness of the soup. Maybe I'll try that next time.

I had Tom Yum Kung. I chose Chinese noodles from options including Vietnamese noodles, rice noodles, jasmine rice, and tofu. The spicy and tangy soup was delicious. Next time, I want to try tofu. Thank you for the meal.
