バオバブ
"Sushi Matsunoki Nishi-Ogikubo Store is located on the 2nd floor of KALDI, near the north exit of Nishi-Ogikubo Station. I remember it opened in late February this year, but I wasn't particularly interested because it was described as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. However, on Saturday, after having shaved ice at "Amakko," it was already past 2 o'clock. Restaurants in Nishi-Ogikubo all take a break around 2 o'clock, and there were no other places to eat. So, we reluctantly decided to check out the conveyor belt sushi restaurant near the station.
Although it was labeled as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, the sushi here doesn't actually rotate on a belt. Instead, when you order your desired sushi using a touch panel, plates and trays are swiftly delivered on a high-speed lane in front of you. The delivery speed is quite impressive. Even the miso soup, served in a covered bowl, was brought without spilling a drop.
I ordered the sushi set from the touch panel, with options to exclude wasabi, order individual pieces, or order sushi without rice. The options included the Hokkai Five-Piece Assortment for 880 yen, the Special Five-Piece Assortment for 1,180 yen, both including miso soup. I also later ordered the seared Pacific saury with rock salt for 290 yen. Honestly, it was delicious. Without alcohol, eating about eight pieces cost around 1,800 yen per person. If I hadn't had shaved ice earlier, I would have ordered more.
As expected from the name 'Sushi Matsunoki,' it is a business under the Matsuya Foods group, with 9 stores in the Kanto region. While other stores may be in less accessible locations, I think I would consider using this Nishi-Ogikubo store when there are no other restaurants open after 2 pm."
