An exceptional restaurant that I, who usually avoids places where a single dish costs over 10,000 yen, have been to. It's been about 7 years since my last visit. Located on the 3rd floor of the Elegance Building on Europe Street in Shinsaibashi, this hidden gem of a restaurant is easy to miss if you don't know about it. The interior is cozy with only 4 counter seats and 2 private rooms. They seem to have added a separate room since my last visit, increasing the capacity. I started with a draft beer, and they served small dishes of appetizers in tiny soy sauce dishes, perfect for accompanying the drinks. They offer a variety of seasonal dishes in small portions. Shark cartilage, simmered vegetables, cream cheese, grilled edamame, egg tofu, conger eel, and more, about 10 dishes in total. Then came the assorted sashimi, grilled fish (I think it was Spanish mackerel). The sashimi included abalone, crab, octopus, and beef, a luxurious lineup of flavors. The grilled fish had a crispy sear that was irresistible! Next, they brought out grilled items using a shichirin grill, such as dried squid, spicy cod roe, scallops, beef intestines, and more. Oh la la! This calls for sake! I don't usually drink sake, but when I come to this restaurant, I start with a little beer and then switch to sake for the rest of the meal. Finally, we had a hot pot - that day it was fugu and golden eye snapper shabu-shabu. Mmm, exquisite! Depending on the season, they may also offer dishes like tilefish, crab, or bear meat. Enjoying delicious food and sake with good friends, immersing in this atmosphere that makes you forget all the troubles of daily life - this is an experience that can only be found at Saisai. I usually spend about 3 hours there, continuously drinking as if it's all-you-can-drink, and the bill usually ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 yen. The food alone probably costs less than 10,000 yen. It's not in my usual price range, but considering the quality of the food and the amount of drinks consumed, even someone like me (who's thrifty) finds it reasonable, maybe even cheap. It was amazing to revisit after so long. I don't know when I'll go again, but I definitely will. The end.

Visited the beloved restaurant "彩さい" in Osaka, Shinsaibashi, after a month. They offer seasonal dishes like small plates and hot pot, as well as grilling on a charcoal brazier. The selection of Japanese sake is excellent, always getting me excited before visiting. Tonight's dishes included various small plates like cockle with gochujang, straw-grilled bonito from Kesennuma, swordtip squid with ishiri soy sauce, etc. For sashimi, they served fatty tuna from Tottori, steamed abalone with its liver soy sauce, whale sashimi, straw-grilled salmon trout, and more. The charcoal-grilled items included ham from Unzen, thigh meat of wagyu beef from Joshu, mentaiko, dried firefly squid, squid legs, and shellfish. They also served eel from Amakusa, smoked salmon with Ishikari dressing, fresh corn from Tokushima, and more small plates. The main hot pot was Tottori's all-tuna shabu-shabu, with soba noodles to finish. Dessert was cherries from Yamagata. The chef mentioned that he had imagined the Tottori tuna since my reservation, which was heartwarming. As a souvenir, they gave me "golden eye snapper rice." The hospitality was top-notch as always, and my companions were delighted. It was a fantastic dining experience, and I look forward to the next visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

In Osaka's Shinsaibashi, my favorite traditional Japanese restaurant, "Sai Sai," is located. I visited after a month and a half, and enjoyed seasonal dishes like small plates, grilled dishes, and hot pot, paired with excellent Japanese sake. The dishes included cherry salmon grilled with straw, Uni from Awaji Island, dried Me-hikari fish, fresh Gold Rush corn, Gold Rush corn soup, sea urchin from the northern four islands, etc. The sake selection included Hanayuki Junmai Ginjo Misatono, and Nanbu Bijin Omachi Junmai Sake. For the grilled dishes, we had Kameno-ko from Joshu Wagyu, rare Naniwa black beef ham, and Hachinosu and Hachikobu from Naniwa black beef. The main hot pot featured Hanasansho, Joshu Wagyu loin, whale bacon, and red meat hot pot with a spicy Hanasansho flavor. Finally, we enjoyed a Keema curry-style dipping sauce with Inaniwa udon using minced Naniwa black beef. The highlight was the Hanasansho hot pot, a special request that the restaurant surprised us with, showcasing their exceptional hospitality. "Sai Sai" never fails to impress with delicious food, sake, and thoughtful gestures. I look forward to my next visit with a first-time guest in two weeks.

A hidden gem of a restaurant located in the back of a building. They have a counter and sunken kotatsu seats. I usually like to sit at the counter and chat with the chef while enjoying my meal, but since the counter was full, I sat at a table instead. It was more spacious that way. They serve small dishes that you can enjoy little by little, like edamame, shark cartilage, and seasonal simmered dishes. They also serve sashimi, sushi, meat dishes, and finish off with a hot pot. On this day, I chose soba noodles as the final dish. I can't drink alcohol, but I love starting with appetizers and moving on to a full meal, so I keep coming back to this wonderful restaurant. I look forward to visiting again regularly.

Jazz singers M-chan and Y-chan, along with violinist R-chan, gathered with others who love alcohol and music for a New Year's party. There were a total of 12 people divided into three groups of four each. At the request of the songstress M-chan, they went to "Sai" in Shinsaibashi. "Sai" is a well-known spot for enjoying alcohol, with a focus on small dishes that pair perfectly with drinks. The dishes included a variety of delicacies such as simmered beans, fish sauce with cooked sea bream roe, shark cartilage, and more. The group enjoyed the delicious food and drinks, including various types of sake and dishes like grilled bamboo shoots from Kagoshima and fresh udon noodles. The dessert featured strawberries, ponkan sherbet, and a nostalgic sweet and sour treat called "Onibi." It was a fun and tasty night filled with laughter and good music.

I always look forward to the changing menu that reflects the season and freshness. This time, the steamed egg custard with oysters and crab, as well as the crab hot pot, were truly delicious. There are no other restaurants like this in Osaka, so it is a really wonderful place. They also offer a variety of Japanese sake, so those who enjoy sake can have even more fun.

This shop always has a wide variety of sake, and they also suggest various sake to go with the dishes. The dishes use plenty of seasonal fish and vegetables, so there is always the pleasure of going there without getting bored all year round. On this day, I was looking forward to dishes using seasonal firefly squid and corn. The dishes and sake are all really delicious, so you end up drinking a lot because you can enjoy a variety of dishes little by little.

The food is really delicious. The small dishes are lovely. The chef takes orders and prepares the dishes himself. The food has a warmth to it and everything is delicious. It's a seafood-focused traditional Japanese restaurant, but the occasional meat dish is also delicious. The chef is friendly, lively, and loves sake. I always have a great time there. The seasonal dishes make me want to visit again and again. The tatami seating and counter seating both offer a cozy atmosphere.

I visited Saisai, a place I often go to, a while ago. As usual, I enjoyed some small dishes that go well with Japanese sake. This time, I grilled matsutake mushrooms on the shichirin, which gave off a lovely autumn aroma up close. For the hot pot, I had yellowtail and kinmedai for shabu-shabu. To finish off, I quickly boiled some Japanese soba noodles. I always have a great time here. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The seasonal dishes served in small bowls are not only visually appealing but also delicious. The chef's sake talk is enthusiastic and engaging. The friendly chef made it easy to strike up a conversation. The individual hot pot using seasonal ingredients is especially delicious - visually appealing, fragrant, and excellent in taste. This is a must-visit for sake lovers. The only downside is that it is not smoke-free, but if you can overlook that...

It had been a while since my last visit, and I found that the restaurant had undergone some changes. Although it was still on the same floor. The dishes were served in the usual manner, with each course being brought out one by one. The main dish of the day was a tilefish hot pot, which was quite filling. A stove and pot were provided, and a whopping 35 kilograms of tilefish meat was served. It was the first time I had ever eaten such a large amount of tilefish in one meal. The meat was incredibly fatty, but had no strong taste, and even the buckwheat noodles at the end were delicious. I think I ate a year's worth of tilefish in one sitting. Thank you for the meal!

Hello! "Sai" is located on top of a building in Shinsaibashi. If you don't know, you won't find it. They serve barley soda. The interior has both table seating and counter seating. The kitchen is incredibly small. I asked for the chef's choice. The dishes were delicious and kept coming. I had a rare bottle of sake called "Shuki". Each slice of sashimi was a delight. They even served crab with sake in the shell, but that's a secret. It was a lot of food at this point. Then came the hot pot for shabu-shabu, along with tempura. We finished with Inaniwa udon. I left the restaurant completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal. Goodbye!

Three beautiful ladies and a wonderful gentleman visited the "Saisai" in Shinsaibashi for a night of fun and laughter. This restaurant is known for its dedication to providing a great experience for enjoying drinks. The small dishes served were perfect for accompanying drinks, and everything was delicious. The night was filled with laughter and lively conversation among the three strong drinkers. The dishes included various appetizers, sashimi, grilled dishes, and more, all of which were enjoyed with great delight. The night ended with a hot pot meal and dessert, making it a memorable and enjoyable evening. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I was treated to a meal to celebrate a numerical milestone. The restaurant was not overly expensive or exclusive, located in a mixed-use building with a small interior consisting of a 4-seat counter and a few tables for 8. They mainly offer a single course menu with many small dishes served. Each dish had a delicate flavor, and I found myself enjoying one after another. The owner selected suitable Japanese sake to accompany the meal, all of which were high-quality. Despite usually avoiding sake due to its intoxicating effects, I indulged this time and surprisingly woke up the next day without any hangover. The highlight of the meal was a large Japanese clam hot pot with an amazing broth. For the finale, I chose from options like Goto udon, somen, soba, or Inaniwa udon, followed by a serving of rice topped with mentaiko and egg. I couldn't finish it all as I was already full. I hope to visit this place again someday. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I had heard that this place was delicious for a long time but had trouble coming, finally I was able to visit. I sat at the small and calm counter inside the restaurant and was very satisfied with the small dishes and side dishes that kept coming. I enjoyed delicious dishes that went well with alcohol, the drinks kept coming, and I had a really enjoyable time. Thanks to the friendly chef and staff, my satisfaction doubled, and I even received a souvenir, thank you very much. There wasn't a single dish that was disappointing! I made a reservation for my next visit and left the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Tonight, I went to Shunsai Ryori Iro SAI in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. This place serves small dishes that go well with alcohol, and each dish is of a very high quality. It's a hidden gem located on the 3rd floor of a building in Suocho. They have a variety of rare Japanese sake available. The small dishes are all excellently prepared and perfect for pairing with sake. I don't know of any other Japanese restaurant that serves such a variety of high-quality small dishes in a course meal. It's a great place for those who love sake. It's also a nice spot for business entertainment.

Gathering with elementary school classmates regularly at a restaurant recommended by a friend in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. The atmosphere was like a small traditional Japanese restaurant, with a calm and cozy vibe. We enjoyed a course meal with delicious dishes that paired well with alcohol. Some of the dishes we had were rice-stuffed octopus, bamboo shoot and chicken gizzard stir-fry, leaf-wrapped fish, sashimi platter, grilled asparagus, grilled conch, garlic butter broccoli, grilled scallop, and more. The food was high quality and perfect for drinking. The only downside was that the pace was a bit fast with so many dishes coming out, but overall, it was a great dining experience. The cost was around ¥10,000 per person, but it could be higher for those who drink more.
