I walked to the east exit to buy tamagoyaki. This place also sold bento boxes. I was tempted by the dinner bento boxes, but then I spotted the tamagoyaki in the back showcase! So I stuck to my original plan. The tamagoyaki cost 525 yen (tax included) and didn't look very big. The expiration date was within 3 days of purchase. I ate it on the last day. When I took it out, it was surprisingly large. I devoured it after eating some rice balls. The tamagoyaki had a subtle sweetness to it. The real pleasure of tamagoyaki is eating it hot and fresh. It's best enjoyed when you're somewhat hungry! And with that, thank you. Bon appétit.

"Chijumaru, located about a 4-minute walk from JR Kitasenju Station East Exit, has a sign that reads 'sozai-dokoro ooe no kitchen.' When I visited on a Saturday evening around 6 pm, most of the bento boxes were already sold out, giving the place a closing vibe. I chose a tamagoyaki from the refrigerated case and paid. If you want to choose a bento box, it's recommended to come early. The tamagoyaki at Tsukiji Tamagoyaki Marutake has a history of over 80 years, specializing in tamagoyaki. They have been making tamagoyaki since before World War II, sticking to their traditional taste by carefully selecting ingredients. It is run by Annie Ito, the older brother of the famous entertainer Terry Ito. I purchased the Shanghai Nori Tamago, which captures the flavor of Hamanako's finest nori. While it is sold for 570 yen at the Tsukiji Marutake with 480g, here it is a half size for 540 yen, making it slightly more expensive. Considering the round trip fare of 195 yen on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line from Kitasenju to Tsukiji, it feels like the fare is included. The tamagoyaki is slightly sweet with the accent of nori fragrance. Checking the Marutake website, there is no mention of this place being a branch, so it seems they simply supply tamagoyaki here. I feel like I've solved a little mystery."

About 200 meters to the right of the east exit of Kita-Senju Station, there is a shop called "Tamagoyaki Marutake" with a green flag. It is a store that sells bento boxes and side dishes from Tsukiji Marutake. They also sell Marutake's tamagoyaki at the back of the store. The bento boxes are priced at 398 yen including tax, even the more expensive ones are less than a coin. The prices here in Kita-Senju are quite reasonable. I bought a large Menchi bento box for 398 yen. It includes a large and thick Menchi katsu, fried gyoza, macaroni, pickled vegetables, sauce, and Japanese mustard. There are many options to choose from, making it fun to select. However, I think I should have bought the tamagoyaki instead (laughs).
