(I visited a lonely "bocchi lunch" on a holiday (although it was a weekday). This is a long-established bistro that has been in business since 1985, so it has been operating for 32 years. I finally fulfilled my wish, which I had seen on TV and had been recommended by a chef acquaintance. (It takes one hour one way from my house, and costs 620 yen by train) There are two types of lunch, A and B. A includes appetizer, main dish, dessert, and drink for 1890 yen, while B includes two appetizers, main dish, dessert, and drink for 2625 yen. You can choose from several options for appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. On this day, the choices were as follows... Appetizers: Soup of the day, Assorted appetizers (2 dishes), Escargot. Main dishes: Fish dish of the day (Black sea bream with mustard cream sauce), Beef sirloin steak, Oven-baked pig's feet Saint-Menehould style, Kangaroo fillet steak (+500 yen), Rabbit sausage with sauerkraut (+300 yen), Assorted meats (lamb, duck, pork shoulder loin) (+500 yen) - limited to one serving. Desserts: Tarte Tatin, Pot-baked pudding, Chestnut parfait. Drinks: Coffee, Tea, Herbal tea (hot only). My order was... B lunch: - Appetizer 1: Assorted appetizers (meat pate, white asparagus bavarois, carrot rapé, egg mayonnaise, lentils, etc.) - Appetizer 2: Burgundy-style escargot - Main dish: Pig's feet Saint-Menehould style - Dessert: Tarte Tatin with Earl Grey ice cream - Coffee - Bread - Cremant de Loire 800 yen - Chablis 2014 700 yen - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2012 800 yen Total: 5184 yen The restaurant's interior exudes a sense of history. The apprentice prepares the appetizers, while the owner prepares the main dishes. The owner took our order and he had a good-natured and gentle demeanor. Everything was cooked with care and there was nothing to complain about. If this restaurant were closer, I would visit every week without hesitation. Thank you for the delicious meal.)
