One afternoon during a day off, my partner and I decided to stop by a kimchi shop called "Kimuchiya Jeju" in Asakusa that we found on Tabelog. However, when we arrived, the shop was closed. Fortunately, it wasn't their regular day off, so we called the number listed and waited for about 10 minutes until the shop owner arrived. We ended up getting some white cabbage kimchi (small) for 500 yen, pickled radish for 500 yen, and perilla leaves for 500 yen to take home. The shop owner also gave us some extra items as a service. The white cabbage kimchi had a mild flavor, which was perfect for someone like me who is new to kimchi. It was delicious and not too spicy. The pickled radish was quite spicy but had a strong umami flavor, making it a great accompaniment to good shochu. As for the perilla leaves, I didn't get to try them because my partner had already eaten them all. Overall, it was a great experience, and I plan to go back to try the items we missed out on. Thank you for the meal.

I found out about this place on Facebook and decided to go check it out. Even though the store was closed despite saying it was open, I called the phone number provided and the owner said they would come if I waited for about 5 minutes. I didn't mind waiting in my car, so I waited. The owner arrived on a bicycle in the heat and I felt bad just buying kimchi, so I also bought a few other recommended items. The kimchi wasn't too fermented yet, but had a nice straightforward taste. It seemed like it would be just right once it ferments a bit more. The green onion kimchi had a fibrous texture, so it wasn't my favorite. The pickled radish was delicious and the dried radish kimchi had a similar flavor, which was also good. The owner, who seemed to be a second-generation Korean living in Japan, was very warm and friendly, mentioning that they had become popular online and were running low on stock. They said they would have more products available next week. Since they don't even have a Google listing, it seems like they have been quietly serving the local community. They mentioned that if I call ahead next time, they could prepare items for me, so I plan to do that for my next visit.
