I tried the "Ebi Mayo Onigiri" from Seven Eleven. It cost 135 yen including tax. I bought it to take home. The rice had small, firm shrimp pieces inside, about 3 of them. However, it didn't feel like there was a lot of filling as advertised. The shrimp pieces were small, so it was hard to tell how many were in there just by the texture. The mayo flavor was mild and not overpowering. It was easy to eat without any strong flavors.

I tried the "Ham Cutlet Sandwich" from 7-Eleven. It cost 248 yen including tax. The sandwich contains ham cutlet and shredded cabbage with mustard. The sauce on the cutlet is flavorful, but the cabbage portion is small. The cutlet has a good thickness, not too thick or too thin. Overall, the sandwich has a spicy sauce flavor rather than a ham cutlet flavor. In terms of nutrition, it is low in protein at 9.0g per serving and high in carbohydrates at 39.6g. This can be a concern for those looking to limit their carb intake. It's hard to find a sandwich with around 20g of carbs unless it's an egg sandwich or a vegetable-heavy sandwich with two layers.

I tried the hot dog from Seven Eleven. I bought it to go. The regular price is 128 yen including tax. When I purchased it in March, there was a promotion with a 30 yen discount plus I used a coupon for an additional 30 yen off, so I got it for a total of 78 yen. In June, I bought it at the regular price of 138 yen. Review: Bun: The bun was a bit hard, more on the dry side rather than just being firm. Filling: The sausage was thick and had a strong presence, but it lacked a crispy texture. It seemed like it needed to be heated a bit more. It would probably be better to eat it after heating it up. Sauce: The ratio of sauce in this hot dog was very low. Both the mustard and tomato sauce were too little, making them weak in flavor. This was a bit disappointing considering the sausage was quite substantial.

This is a small shop near Nihonbashi High School. I'm not sure when it opened, but it has a nostalgic atmosphere. I bought an apple Danish pastry and enjoyed it at home. It uses Fuji apples, and the pastry has a crunchy texture with small pieces of apple and a buttery flavor. It's perfect for a snack. I wish the price was a little lower though. They have a lot of savory pastries, so I think it would be nice if they had more sweet pastries as well.

I tried the Seven Eleven cup miso soup with clams for 138 yen excluding tax. After opening the package and pouring hot water, I mixed it well. The clams in their shells opened just by pouring hot water, which was interesting. The size of the clams was quite small, and one of them didn't open. The taste of the soup was average, not too satisfying but not lacking either. It would have been better if there were other ingredients besides clams. The protein content of 2.7g is quite low, while the carbohydrate content of 3.4g with 2.8g of sugar is fine. The effectiveness of 38mg of ornithine is unclear.

I tried the "Sichuan-style Mapo Tofu with Rich Soy Sauce" from Seven Eleven, priced at 330 yen before tax, approximately 356 yen after tax. When heated in a 500W microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the dish had finely chopped leafy vegetables with a small amount of green onions and tofu cut into bite-sized pieces. The spiciness kicks in from the second bite, with a unique and pungent flavor from the spices. The amount of ground meat is minimal and varies in size. It may not be suitable for those who do not like spicy food. Personally, I did not enjoy the taste and felt like having a beer or at least some tea with it. I also noticed that "甜麺醤" is read as "Tenmenjan." The dish has low protein content at 19.3g and low carbohydrate content at 11.9g, with sugars at 8.9g, which is a good impression.

Seven Eleven's frozen food 7 Premium uses domestic wheat flour Sanuki Udon priced at 98 yen including tax. The taste after eating and the introduction of nutritional value. Lawson's Sanuki Udon feels unusually expensive, but the reason for such a price difference was unclear. Cooking method, microwave heating at 500w for 3 minutes and 40 seconds, 600w for 3 minutes. Eating impressions, the noodles have a good texture when rinsed with cold water. As for the taste, the difference in frozen udon is not very noticeable. There was a slightly wheat flour-like part when I ate it for the first time, but it was not there for the second purchase. Adding ingredients makes for a satisfying amount. The manufacturer is Kinrei Co., Ltd. Per 210g serving, it contains 6.5g of protein, 54.2g of carbohydrates, and 52.3g of sugar. It is slightly questionable that besides wheat flour and salt, modified starch is also included in the ingredients.

The reviewer tried the Seven Eleven roasted chicken leg and found it to be on the expensive side. They opted for the bone-in chicken instead. The outer coating was crispy, but in some areas, it was quite hard. The unique aroma of the spices was strong. The meat was juicy and flavorful, with a prominent spice flavor. If you enjoy the taste of spices, you may like it, but if not, it may not be for you. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly delicious either.

I have been enjoying macaroni gratin from Seven Eleven recently when I don't have much appetite. The portion size is 210 grams, which is smaller compared to other frozen gratin options. The price was around 250 yen when I purchased it on September 23, 2022. To prepare, you microwave it for 5 minutes and 30 seconds at 500 watts. The top layer has a nice crispy cheese flavor, but the macaroni itself is on the smaller side. It lacks variety in ingredients, with only macaroni included, making the taste a bit monotonous. I found it to be a decent option compared to buying fried foods or snacks from convenience stores in terms of volume and taste. The nutritional value shows low protein content at 12.6g and low carbohydrates at 31.5g, making it a better choice than a similar option from Lawson.

I tried the 2022 version of Seven Eleven's "soft and heavy" large pork bun. The regular price is 240.84 yen including tax, but I was able to buy it for 194 yen including tax during the campaign. It was actually cheaper, so I bought it. The size is on the larger side for a convenience store meat bun. The skin is thick. It feels more like eating flour than eating the filling. There is too much thickness at the top compared to the bottom, making the balance with the filling poor. The texture makes you want to eat it with the bottom side up. The main ingredients are pork and onions. When cut, you can see grains like coarse ground black pepper. Personally, maybe because of the thickness of the skin, I might prefer cheaper meat buns. In terms of nutrition, Lawson's juicy meat bun with rich meat flavor is superior in terms of cost performance. The 11.7g of protein is still good, but the 50.3g of carbohydrates and 48.3g of sugar are quite high in carbohydrates. It's about 1.5 times that of a regular Chinese bun.

Seven Eleven's chicken nuggets, a pack of 5 for 190 yen including tax (205 yen). They also offer single pieces for sale. When ordering at the register, they asked if I wanted ketchup, so I got some. The nuggets looked darker than others and were quite small and irregular in shape. The taste is more like fried chicken than traditional nuggets, with a unique crunchiness to the coating. I personally like these nuggets, but they are best enjoyed with ketchup. The ketchup ran out before I finished the nuggets. If McDonald's wasn't having a sale, I would be satisfied with Seven Eleven's nuggets. I wish they had mustard sauce too. The 12.5g of protein may be a bit low due to the small size of the nuggets. The 16.3g of carbs is okay.

I bought a 5-piece pack of Seven Eleven's "Nanakara" for 325 yen. This was the price on August 13, 2022. The price has increased significantly compared to when I last had it in December 2019 for 270 yen. The taste is on the sweeter side, with a thin coating. It has less salt and soy sauce flavor compared to typical fried chicken products. It might be nice to have additional flavor options like soy sauce, mayonnaise, or shichimi. The nutritional value is good, with 23.8g of protein in 4 pieces and 29g in 5 pieces. The carb content is 12g for 4 pieces and 15g for 5 pieces, making it suitable for those on a low-carb diet. For 325 yen, this amount of protein in a fried chicken product made with Thai chicken is quite rare. Frozen fried chicken products would be more cost-effective.

I was looking for a noodle dish with lots of vegetables and came across miso ramen, so I decided to try it. The product is called "Seven-Eleven Sumire Rich Miso Ramen Supervised by Sapporo Sumire" and the price is 604 yen including tax. Here are my thoughts after eating it: The soup and noodles/ingredients are in separate compartments in a double-layer container. The meatballs are not strongly seasoned, with a simple taste. The small pieces are hard to pick up once they fall into the soup. There is a small amount of red pepper included as well. The large slices of chashu pork and small pieces of meat are similar to those used in the Dekabuta Ramen. There is a small amount of bean sprouts, a small amount of green onions, two pieces of menma. The vegetables shrink quite a bit when heated in the microwave. The menma was the only vegetable I liked, but I wish there were more than just two pieces. The lack of green onions was disappointing. The noodles are thin and yellow. The soup tastes like average miso ramen, without a strong flavor. Packaged miso ramen always seems to have a uniform taste. The soup in convenience store noodles tends to taste artificial. The soup has a lot of floating oil. Even with the red pepper added, the spiciness is mild. In terms of taste quality, I prefer the Dekabuta Ramen for a consistent flavor. The Seven-Eleven Sumire Rich Miso Ramen doesn't have a strong characteristic flavor from the vegetables or umami. The official website describes it as a rich miso ramen supervised by the famous Sapporo restaurant "Sumire". It is a satisfying product with large chashu slices. Price: 560 yen (tax included 604.80 yen)

I tried the 7-Eleven Chinese steamed bun, "Fluffy x Chewy" Meat Bun, which costs 150 yen including tax. With the recent temperature changes making evenings feel colder, it seems like summer is ending earlier than usual (compared to the past 5 years). This season always makes me crave Chinese steamed buns. The size is similar to other meat buns in the 100 yen range. The filling has a good amount of meat, with a slightly sweet seasoning. It's a typical meat bun without any strong flavors or unique features. It seems to be mainly made of pork and onions, without any bamboo shoots or mushrooms. It's not outstanding, but it's decent for an occasional purchase. It has 6.7g of protein, which is more than onigiri, but still not enough for a full meal. The 31.5g of carbohydrates is slightly more than a sandwich.

I purchased the Vegetable Umami Tanmen from Seven Eleven for 507 yen including tax. It is said to contain half a day's worth of vegetables, so I decided to try it. The cooking instructions are to microwave it at 500w for 6 minutes and 30 seconds. The container structure is unusual for a convenience store noodle, with the noodles separated from the soup. The noodles are thin and yellow, and the soup is lightly salted with a mild umami flavor. The ingredients include wood ear mushrooms, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, and other vegetables. The amount of vegetables is the highest among convenience store noodles. However, since there is no meat or seafood in it, it can be a bit challenging to eat. The lack of protein and the mild flavor can make it a bit monotonous towards the end, and I started to feel a bit queasy. To finish it, I recommend adding some meat or seafood, or customizing the flavor with chili oil or other seasonings early on. Overall, I found it a bit difficult to finish the Vegetable Umami Tanmen on its own. I prefer the Dekabuta Ramen, even if it is slightly more expensive, due to its flavor and portion size.

I tried the large pork bun from Seven Eleven. The price is 213 yen including tax. The dough is quite thick. The filling includes pork and onions. The pork is fatty and tender, like belly meat. When it cools down, the filling solidifies. The thick dough provides a good chewy texture, but it might be better if it were a bit thinner. The top part is thicker than the bottom. In terms of taste, it's somewhat mild with no strong flavors. It had a hint of pepper or something similar. While it feels satisfying right after eating, hunger returns within an hour. It might be better to eat it with some vegetables or something else on the side.

I purchased the Tonkotsu Yakisoba Ramen supervised by Ippudo at 7-Eleven. The price is 650 yen before tax, 604 yen after tax. Convenience store noodles are getting more expensive. The product has been sold under the same name in the past, but this is my first time trying it. The toppings got a bit messy during transport. The microwave heating time is relatively short at 3 and a half minutes. The ramen has a small portion but a variety of toppings including bean sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, green onions, pickled ginger, and fried green onions. The two slices of pork are thinly sliced. The only tasty ingredient was the pork. The noodles were thin and firm, but lacked the authentic tonkotsu ramen flavor. The soup was minimal and lacked flavor. The overall taste was not what I expected from a tonkotsu ramen. The taste of pickled ginger was stronger than the tonkotsu flavor. It was different from the typical Hakata tonkotsu ramen. I'm not familiar with Yakisoba Ramen, but I was surprised by the minimal soup content. The taste was not bad, but it was different from what I had imagined.

The frozen Chinese soba and Tomita tsukemen from Seven Eleven. The price is 451 yen including tax. Cooking method: Since the microwave is broken, I cooked it by heating in hot water. The soup can be used as it is without dilution. Eating impression: The thick noodles of this tsukemen are soft. The noodles lack firmness and have a chewy texture, worse than the chilled tsukemen. The impression is worse than Lawson's frozen tsukemen. The dipping sauce doesn't have a standout taste, the pork bone seafood flavor is not extreme but not a desired taste. The only ingredient, the meat, is tender but the flavor is not appealing, typical of frozen food meat. Having only chashu as the topping feels lacking and doesn't satisfy. Although there is a lot of noodles, the taste does not justify the price. I was expecting higher quality. It was a disappointment. It would be more cost-effective to buy a chilled or hot noodle dish from the bento shelf even if it's 100 yen more expensive.

I had some d points left over, so I decided to try the pork ramen from Seven-Eleven. It was supervised by Tomita and cost 594 yen including tax. Since my microwave was broken, I asked the store to heat it up for me before taking it home to eat. My overall impression after eating it was that the soup was the standout feature of this convenience store ramen. The package describes the noodles as "crunchy noodles," and they did have a firm and crunchy texture that was easy to eat without being too tough. However, they were a bit difficult to slurp up. The soup itself was on the lighter side in terms of richness. The pork fat and soy sauce flavor were prominent, with a strong sweetness and a mild saltiness. I felt like the soup could use a little extra something to make it more satisfying. The vegetables, such as bean sprouts and cabbage, were cooked just right and not soggy, which was a plus. The pork was tender, but the seasoning was a bit ordinary and lacked a distinctive flavor. Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of this convenience store ramen. The appearance and texture of the pork were good, but the seasoning could be improved.

I tried the large pork bun from Seven Eleven. The price is 213 yen including tax. It's just a meat bun with a larger filling. The filling consists of firm chunks of meat and other ingredients. It feels like there is a lot of binder in it. The taste of the filling is decent. The bun is thick, so it's satisfying to eat, but I was hoping for a higher ratio of filling. There are no particularly bad aspects about the taste, but the satisfaction for the price is low. In the same price range, I recommend the Family Mart's "Ninniku Mashimashi Dodeka 2-bai Nikuman" supervised by Senrigan. It has quite a high carb content of 49.7g, but I feel like I would be more satisfied eating two regular meat buns for the same price. The satisfaction per bun is somewhat lacking.
