On July 10, 2023 (Monday), I had dinner after working in Musashimurayama for the day. I got off the train at a stop along the Seibu Line. Today, I went to a soba restaurant at the south exit of Seibu Yanagizawa. It was 5:38 PM and there was one customer already there, and one more came in after me. I ordered a pork cutlet rice bowl (945 yen) and a soba combo (670 yen) from the motherly waitress. There was also a sign for a pork cutlet set (1610 yen), but it was explained that it came with the pork cutlet and rice separate, and the soba would be served hot or cold. The TV was showing sumo wrestling. I was watching without much interest, but then the top-ranking maegashira, Nishiki, defeated the yokozuna, Terunofuji. It was a good match to watch. Soon, the pork cutlet rice bowl and soba arrived. The soba was too soft and not drained well. The dipping sauce was sweet and average. The pork cutlet in the rice bowl was freshly fried and had a decent thickness, but it wasn't cut properly and had some tough parts. The taste was neither sweet nor spicy, just average. The sauce was too much. The soup was not miso soup but clear broth. The pickled cucumber was overly salty. Well, I'll give credit for the freshly fried pork cutlet in the rice bowl. The total bill came to 1615 yen. It took a 22-minute bus ride from Seibu Yanagizawa South Exit to Kichijoji North Exit. It was very hot today. The highest temperatures were 37.8°C in Nerima, 37.4°C in Ome, 37.3°C in Hachioji, 36.9°C in Fuchu, and 36.5°C in Chiyoda Ward.

I had some business at Seibu Yanagisawa Station, so I decided to visit for lunch. There were no menus on the table, so I looked at the menu posted on the wall and ordered the large serving of Oyakodon. It cost 1,045 yen, with an additional 150 yen for extra rice. The food was served in 4-5 minutes. I enjoyed the Oyakodon and the pickled cabbage side dish, but I felt that the broth was a bit too watery for my taste. The restaurant had a good atmosphere with table dividers, which I liked. Next time, I want to try their soba noodles. I recommend it to everyone!

I went to Yanagizawa Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line for some errands. Since I was there, I decided to take a little stroll around. In Yanagizawa, there is an old soba restaurant. They have tables and sunken kotatsu seating. They also have a TV set up. It seems like they also offer delivery.
I ordered the Duck Soba (980 yen including tax). The soba was a bit overcooked. By the way, you can clearly tell the doneness of the soba noodles in the picture. The duck broth had a subtle sweetness in the aftertaste.
There is a cart parked in front of the store. The Honda SUPER CUB, equipped with a delivery machine for carrying soba without spilling, is truly a great invention in Japan. Unfortunately, the previous model of the Panda delivery machine is no longer being produced. What a shame!
P.S. There are two types of delivery machines, the Ebisu type and the Marushin type.
