A wonderful building suddenly appears in a residential street, with a maze-like and exciting shop inside. For those who have no interest in art, it may be like "casting pearls before swine." The building itself was designed by the renowned architect Akira Sakamoto, with sliding doors or doors at the entrance that lead to an introduction to art that is truly wonderful, making the experience enjoyable even before entering the shop. The owner, the kind and gentle Wada Daizou, is famous for his sesame, and his deep knowledge and collection of art are generously displayed as serving dishes. Even without any knowledge of art, I found myself admiring each dish presented alongside the art pieces. From Yayoi Kusama to Kei Funakoshi, Sadamasa Motonaga, Ryuichi Kusaka, Kazumasa Fujisaki, Yoshitomo Nara, and many other talented young artists, the shop displays a variety of amazing objects and dishes. The meal starts with lotus root sake, followed by a delicious oyster soup with roasted oysters, Chinese cabbage, and white leek puree. The eel rice dish surprises with various hidden ingredients like sansho pepper, lotus root, and fukujinzuke, adding depth to the flavor. The large scallop and shirako dish is luxurious, accompanied by a box of sea urchin for added extravagance. The owner served two types of sake (Matsuno-jou and Akishika), sparking lively conversations. The spring vegetables dish is beautifully colorful, each vegetable uniquely seasoned, showing delicate craftsmanship. The black wagyu beef dish with a delicious sauce of cream and moromi was unexpectedly delightful. The unique Ryukyu soba noodles made by the owner, a soba lover, come with distinctive condiments and plenty of sesame seeds for a refreshing taste. The fruity fruit and liqueur jelly dessert in a lovely glass container is light and easy to eat, followed by a second dessert of kumquat and mandarin clafoutis with a subtle sweetness. The high-quality matcha served as the final touch marked the end of the course. The world of this restaurant transcends the categories of dishes, creating a special dining experience that only a connoisseur like the owner can provide. The music playing, ranging from Celtic to Showa-era songs, adds to the enjoyable atmosphere. The blissful time passed quickly, and before I knew it, nearly three hours had gone by. I look forward to visiting again on another special occasion. Thank you, Wada-san, for a wonderful experience. (*^-^*)
