Sessha-ya, located about a 7-minute walk from JR Tsukamoto Station, was recommended to me by a business partner as an interesting place to visit. Before going, I read reviews and found out that it is a remarkable space enveloped in contemporary art. Designed by the renowned architect Akira Sakamoto, the restaurant's interior resembles a museum. The variety of art pieces on display, which change with the seasons, was truly impressive. As for the food, each dish was meticulously prepared and tasted just as good as those from top-notch establishments. The unique art-inspired tableware, including plates, chopsticks, forks, and spoons, added to the dining experience. The talkative owner also entertained us with engaging conversations throughout the meal. The restaurant offers three course options: the most expensive being the "Sekai Course" at 15,000 yen, followed by the "Sako Course" at 12,000 yen, and the "Yamako Course" at 10,000 yen. We opted for the Sekai Course, which included four dishes, rice, and dessert. While the cost may not be the most budget-friendly, part of it could be considered an art appreciation fee. From the moment we arrived until we left, it was a night filled with surprises and excitement. I highly recommend this restaurant to those looking for a fun and enjoyable dining experience. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I participated in a special event at Sosaya, a creative cuisine restaurant located five minutes from JR Tsukamoto Station. The event, the 6th Soba Gathering, started at 2:30 PM. The main dish was yuzu soba. Although I am not very familiar with soba, the other participants kindly taught me about it, and I was able to enjoy the delicious soba. Do you know that sprinkling Nori furikake on soba makes it even more delicious?

Formed a group called "Wonder Art Club" to enjoy art and food together. Visited a restaurant called "Sesame" with a person knowledgeable in modern art. The owner, Mr. Wada Daizou, used to be the managing director of a sesame shop called Wada Ban, and is a big collector of modern art. The building of the restaurant is like a whole art museum, where you can admire hundreds of art pieces while listening to the owner's explanations, before enjoying creative dishes surrounded by interesting cutlery. The metal pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama may cost as much as a small house. The special 10,000 yen course prepared by the owner's wife was exquisite. Even the sukiyaki had a slightly Chinese-style seasoning. The elegant and gentle flavors, combined with being surrounded by art pieces, made for an exciting dining experience. The artwork that caught my attention the most was the first photo, inspired by the standing statue of Kuya Shonin. I couldn't help but inquire about the artist and the gallery handling it. It was created by a person named Koji Kamijichi. When I open my secret bar in the future, I have decided to buy and display this artwork in the establishment.

Last November, I visited "Sesame" with four friends for a birthday party and posted a review on Tabelog. A Tokyo-based reviewer, who mainly reviews art museums, commented that the place was like dining in an art museum with art pieces as dishes. I suggested to my friend Chisama that we should go together next year. Three months later, we met in Tokyo for the first time to celebrate the Tokyo reviewer's birthday. We arrived at the restaurant at 6 pm, and two of my friends arrived by taxi shortly after. We explored the art pieces displayed in the restaurant and the unique dishes used for serving food. The restaurant felt like a private art museum rather than just a dining place. We sat at the main dining table and exchanged birthday gifts and souvenirs. The dishes we enjoyed were as follows: - Snow Crab Grasp Seat: ¥15,000 - Aperitif: Lotus root sake - Fugu fin soup: Sake lees fondue (sake lees, cheese, asparagus, sea urchin) - Today's seafood: Molting crab (doubanjiang, sesame paste, flying fish roe sauce) - Today's meat: Wagyu misuji - Chinese rice - Dessert: Strawberry and hojicha sauce, cheesecake - Thin tea We also had Minoh Beer Black, Awamori on the rocks, and Sake from Tatenokawa Brewery in Yamagata. The unique spoons, tea cups, and water glasses on the table added to the fun. We started with a lotus root sake aperitif and enjoyed the luxurious dishes served in artistic plates. The crab dish was crispy and flavorful, and the wagyu misuji was tender and well-balanced. We shared a sake in a cup with erotic art, and the evening ended with a memorable birthday celebration arranged by the restaurant owner. The Tokyo reviewer seemed to thoroughly enjoy the art and food, making me feel relieved that I had chosen this place for the celebration. We took a taxi across the Yodo River to a hotel bar to enjoy cocktails. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Osaka Trip Modern Edition Part 3 The beginning of our adventure was when I saw Kinakoanko's review and commented, "I want to go! I want to go!" Kinakoanko then suggested, "Let's invite Sen and go together." That's how it all started. Kinakoanko is such a proactive person. She suggested celebrating Sen's birthday in February together. We ended up at the sesame shop "Wadamane," run by the manager, Mr. Wada, who used to work as an executive at a long-established restaurant in Osaka. His nickname is Sesame. Mr. Wada not only displays his art collection but also allows us to enjoy it during the meal. He believes that true value is shown when things are not just for display but also functional. We arrived early to see his collection, and to our surprise, Mr. Wada was cleaning the front entrance and watering the plants. He served the dishes himself, with only one woman helping in the kitchen. For Sen's birthday celebration, he turned off the lights, played Happy Birthday music, lit candles in the shape of hearts on the birthday cake, and brought it to us. Sen blew out the candles amid the music, and we all clapped and congratulated her. I had heard that the works of Sen's loved ones were also part of Mr. Wada's collection, which is why I wanted to celebrate her birthday here. Kinakoanko encouraged me, and with Mr. Wada's warm hospitality, we enjoyed the food and the birthday celebration. Mr. Wada is someone who finds happiness in seeing others happy. With a private reservation just for us, we could fully enjoy the food and unique dishes that were served. Kinakoanko had celebrated a friend's birthday here a few months ago, and I'm grateful she suggested coming back. I'm sure she wanted Sen and me to experience the same joy. Kinakoanko, from start to finish, made our hearts dance with joy, and we skipped back home holding hands, feeling elated.

In November 2017, I returned to Tokyo from lunch and went to a friend's birthday party at night. This time, it was my turn to find a restaurant, so I researched various recommended places and decided on "Sesami" in a residential area near Tsukamoto Station. The restaurant can accommodate only one group per day and offers a unique art-filled dining experience. We met at Tsukamoto Station around 6 pm and arrived at the restaurant in about 5 minutes. The exterior already exuded an artistic atmosphere. Inside, the main dining area was filled with impactful art pieces, which really lifted the mood. Before the feast, we were shown the art space on the second floor and then seated at the large table in the main dining area. Each place setting had different themed dishes and glasses, which was quite interesting. We started with a lotus root sake toast! We ordered the "Sesami" course for 15,000 yen, which included: Lotus root sake, pear soup, sea urchin and grated yam, fish of the day (sea bream, mussels, and seasonal vegetables), braised wagyu beef brisket, Chinese rice with pickled vegetables, dessert sesame mousse (matcha ice cream, sweet red bean paste, muscat grapes), cheese, and autumn deer sake. The pear soup was smooth and sweet, and paired well with the mozzarella cheese. The sea urchin dish was a favorite, with a perfect balance of sweetness and no fishy taste. The sea bream and wagyu beef were both tender and flavorful. The Chinese rice was also a favorite. By the time dessert arrived, we were quite full, but the sesame sweet was a delightful end to the meal. The owner also went out of their way to make the birthday celebration special with music and a surprise sweet treat. It was a truly enjoyable dining experience.

The day before 2017.11.12, I indulged in the famous Tanba Matsutake mushrooms and Tsuiyama crabs at a renowned traditional Japanese restaurant in Tokyo, emptying my wallet in the process. I returned to Osaka in the early afternoon. Tonight, I gathered with four friends for our regular birthday celebration. We visited "Sesami," a creative cuisine restaurant located in a residential area 600m east of Tsukamoto Station on the Kobe Line, one stop west from JR Osaka Station. This restaurant, run by Mr. Wada Daizou, offers a unique dining experience combining sesame cuisine and Noh theater space in a museum-like building. The owner, born into a sesame shop in Osaka, pursued a career as a film director in Tokyo before returning to take over the family business. The restaurant is a fusion of his passion for art, poetry, and cooking. The entrance and corridors are adorned with various artworks, leading to a main dining area with a large table and unique art pieces. We enjoyed a drink menu featuring Minoh Beer and sesame shochu, along with a tasting course including dishes like pear soup, sea urchin and mountain yam, fish of the day, braised beef, and sesame mousse dessert. Each dish was creatively presented using seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere was enhanced by the eclectic collection of art pieces throughout the restaurant. The unique tableware and glassware added to the dining experience, making it a memorable evening of art and gastronomy.

A limited restaurant!! I visited Seshami-san!! A building floating in a quiet residential area~! What is this~! It looks like an art museum~! The monument is amazing too~! It's by reservation only, so I arrived on time, rang the doorbell at the entrance, and was greeted with "Please come in." Inside, it's amazing~! It's way beyond the level of a restaurant, more like an art museum~! Even opening the door felt like a maze~! When the meal started, they played a very stylish music box, which was a wonderful service~! The food is like creative cuisine~! It's definitely a recommended place for those who love art~!

The principle is limited to one group per day. In the case of a small number of people, there can be up to two groups. The inside is like a space between an art museum and a haunted house. Although it was said to be sesame and soba, the menu is surprisingly normal course dishes. Starting from the aperitif, the menu includes: shark fin soup, blowfish tempura, eel rice, crab mousse, winter vegetables, Wagyu beef, hand-cut soba noodles, and various desserts. The seasoning is all quite ordinary. The ingredients are good, so it tastes somewhat delicious. Originally, it was a reception facility for a sesame manufacturer, and there was a souvenir included.

A wonderful building suddenly appears in a residential street, with a maze-like and exciting shop inside. For those who have no interest in art, it may be like "casting pearls before swine." The building itself was designed by the renowned architect Akira Sakamoto, with sliding doors or doors at the entrance that lead to an introduction to art that is truly wonderful, making the experience enjoyable even before entering the shop. The owner, the kind and gentle Wada Daizou, is famous for his sesame, and his deep knowledge and collection of art are generously displayed as serving dishes. Even without any knowledge of art, I found myself admiring each dish presented alongside the art pieces. From Yayoi Kusama to Kei Funakoshi, Sadamasa Motonaga, Ryuichi Kusaka, Kazumasa Fujisaki, Yoshitomo Nara, and many other talented young artists, the shop displays a variety of amazing objects and dishes. The meal starts with lotus root sake, followed by a delicious oyster soup with roasted oysters, Chinese cabbage, and white leek puree. The eel rice dish surprises with various hidden ingredients like sansho pepper, lotus root, and fukujinzuke, adding depth to the flavor. The large scallop and shirako dish is luxurious, accompanied by a box of sea urchin for added extravagance. The owner served two types of sake (Matsuno-jou and Akishika), sparking lively conversations. The spring vegetables dish is beautifully colorful, each vegetable uniquely seasoned, showing delicate craftsmanship. The black wagyu beef dish with a delicious sauce of cream and moromi was unexpectedly delightful. The unique Ryukyu soba noodles made by the owner, a soba lover, come with distinctive condiments and plenty of sesame seeds for a refreshing taste. The fruity fruit and liqueur jelly dessert in a lovely glass container is light and easy to eat, followed by a second dessert of kumquat and mandarin clafoutis with a subtle sweetness. The high-quality matcha served as the final touch marked the end of the course. The world of this restaurant transcends the categories of dishes, creating a special dining experience that only a connoisseur like the owner can provide. The music playing, ranging from Celtic to Showa-era songs, adds to the enjoyable atmosphere. The blissful time passed quickly, and before I knew it, nearly three hours had gone by. I look forward to visiting again on another special occasion. Thank you, Wada-san, for a wonderful experience. (*^-^*)

A shop like an art gallery. It is delicious. It's a bit far, which is a shame, but the people I bring there are very satisfied when they leave.
