The store is located a bit east of Senbon Takatsuji, in Nakagyo Ward. The area is not surrounded by famous tourist spots (except for Mimurodo Temple), so it's unlikely that tourists will stop by to buy bread. The exterior of the store looks like it's from the Showa era, and I initially thought they sold bread that has been around for a long time, but each bread here is on par with famous bread shops in downtown. I purchased the following: ⚫︎ Fish Sandwich (280 yen) - A coppe pan with a mix of fish fry and eggs. It's packed with fillings as shown in the photo, and one is enough to make you full. There's no dryness typical of coppe pan, and the bread is light and finely textured. The fry is thinly battered, not greasy. ⚫︎ Ham and Cheese Croissant (216 yen, limited to weekends and holidays) - A croissant with cheese and thin ham inside. It's crispy but not greasy, easy to eat. ⚫︎ Special (162 yen) - The name is indescribable, but it's a Danish pastry with chocolate sauce and a large, firm custard cream in the middle. Similar to the croissant, it's crispy and light for its volume, and cheap! Recently, the consumption of bread in Kyoto has become number one, leading to new bakeries with relatively high prices popping up. In this context, this bakery manages to keep prices reasonable, offers delicious bread, and is not crowded. Their specialty is the anpan, which is indeed delicious, but since it's only available from 11:30 onwards, I couldn't buy it this time. However, their other bread is delicious too, so I recommend visiting this place when you're nearby. While expensive and tasty bakeries are common, this is my favorite bakery in Kyoto overall.
