A well-established restaurant that has been passed down from my parents' generation ☆ I had been wanting to visit this place after hearing about it from my mother, and finally, I was able to go! It is a famous restaurant where Marilyn Monroe visited for three days in a row during her honeymoon in Fukuoka to eat the onion gratin soup. As soon as I entered the reception on the first floor of the restaurant, I could smell the delicious aroma of the food. When I took the elevator to the second floor, the staff guided me to my table. This time, I was seated by the window, and I could enjoy the illumination of Ohori Park while having my meal. I ordered the chef's special course, and they tailored the course to my preferences. I made sure to include the onion gratin soup that I didn't want to miss, and I requested the main meat dish to be made with beef tenderloin. The course I had that day included the following: ● Appetizers - I was instructed to eat the dishes from the bottom of the plate in order. - Salmon croquette: Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with a subtle salmon flavor. - Spring chrysanthemum macaron: Surprisingly smooth and not overpowering, with a hint of sweetness typical of a macaron. - Marinated amberjack: Perfect balance of acidity, sweetness, and smoky flavor. - Avocado espuma with shrimp and croutons: A light and easy-to-eat mousse with a mix of shrimp and croutons. ● Warm appetizer with chicory, spear squid, domestic ham, and cauliflower: A unique combination of bitter chicory, tangy vinegar sauce, salty ham, and cauliflower. A taste that was both unusual and delicious. ● Onion gratin soup: Rich and flavorful with double consomme, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of cheese. It's no wonder Marilyn Monroe visited this place for three days! ● Canadian lobster with Nantua sauce and saffron sauce: The aroma of this dish was delightful, with succulent and sweet lobster meat. The Nantua sauce was rich and slightly nutty, making it a truly delightful dish. ● Tenderloin of beef from Amakusa: Incredibly tender meat that seemed to melt in my mouth, with a rich roasted flavor. ● Cheese blancmange with pear compote and roasted almonds: A cheese ice cream with a yogurt-like flavor that paired perfectly with the pear compote. A refreshing dessert that was surprisingly delicious. ● Orange mousse ice cream and chocolate mousse: A unique dessert where the mousse melts in your mouth, with both bitter and milk chocolate options. I personally recommend the bitter chocolate mousse. ● Tea sweets: Pistachio pie, financiers, and orange.

This is a French restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Fukuoka Ohori Park Boat House. It is the first store of the Royal Group (Royal Host, Shakey's, Tenya, Sizzler, etc.), founded in 1953. It is a long-established restaurant where Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio visited during their honeymoon. I visited for the first time based on the recommendation of my partner's community that the food is delicious. It is easy to park at the paid parking lot in front of Ohori Park. For lunch, I ordered the Saison course for ¥12,600 (with an additional ¥2,500 for Japanese beef fillet steak). I also requested the wine pairing with 5 types of wine for ¥11,000. The menu included Champagne, Swan Shoe Sour Cream, Prosciutto Cream Cheese, Panee Poulle Ratatouille, Vichyssoise, Australian white wine, Camembert, Fermented Butter, Marinated Golden Snapper and Cherry Tomatoes, Prosciutto, Beets, Radish, Nasturtium, Scallop Saute, Crab, Lobster Bisque, Carrot Puree, Burgundy white wine, Triple Consomme Soup with Blackthroat Seabass, Frangipane of Softshell Turtle, Indica Rice, California red wine, Miyazaki Beef Fillet, Summer Truffle, Jus Sauce, Brandy chilled in the freezer, Melon Sherbet, Tuile, Fig Compote, Honey Ice Cream, and Yame Japanese Black Tea. We enjoyed the high-quality service, wine pairing, and authentic French cuisine while overlooking the scenery of Ohori Park from the restaurant's fully glassed interior. I am definitely coming back, and next time, I will try the Royal's specialty French Onion Soup for dinner. I am very satisfied, thank you for the meal.

My cousin, who is one year older than me, is moving to Tokyo, so my younger cousin and I decided to have a farewell party. The reservation was made at the 2nd floor of the Ohori Park Boathouse, called "Hanaki". The restaurant is a well-known French establishment in Fukuoka, with a history dating back to 1953. We were seated at a corner table with a great view of Ohori Park. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, a cold potato and leek soup, and main courses such as Kumamoto red beef steak and sautéed sea bream. Dessert was pistachio ice cream with cocoa cream and petit fours. We had a great time chatting with my cousins and before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye. On our way back, we saw the Taishan magnolia tree near the park entrance. At the Orio Station, we also saw the JR Kyushu tourist train "Isaburo Shinpei" which runs on weekends from Hakata to Moji Port. It was exciting to see it for the first time. Lastly, we celebrated Shohei Ohtani's 26th home run in the MLB and looked forward to his upcoming pitching performance.

I finally had the chance to visit that famous restaurant with a lake view. The atmosphere was very nice as it was right by the water. I heard that it is part of the Royal Host chain, which made me think of family restaurants, but it turned out to be a historic establishment. The clientele mostly consisted of local older women. The chef never made an appearance. The view outside was amazing. Thank you for the meal!

I have been to this restaurant for dinner a few times before, but this time I went for lunch on the last day of Golden Week as I was looking forward to it. We dined in a private room where Marilyn Monroe had also visited. The food was as wonderful as always, the service was excellent, and I was very satisfied.

A French restaurant located in Ohori Park, on the second floor of the Boat House. The interior is bright with large glass windows. We enjoyed a luxurious full course meal and a bottle of wine. The presentation was lovely and the food was delicious. The bread was also tasty, we ended up asking for seconds. It's a perfect place for special occasions like anniversaries, meetings, or introductions. I would love to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance!

I visited the restaurant "Hanano Ki" located in Hakata, where delicious dishes are packed. It has been open since 1953. It is about a 5-minute walk from Ohori Park Station on the subway airport line. It is a French restaurant located by Ohori Pond in Ohori Park. The interior of the restaurant is bright, open, and stylish. With large windows covering one wall, you can enjoy views of Ohori Pond and the lush park. The restaurant looks as if it is floating on the pond from the table seats. The pure white tablecloths give a sense of cleanliness. Here are the dishes we had today: - Yufuin salmon marinated in fennel vinegar - Bacon mousse with green pea puree - Galette with Omael shrimp added to Itojima black rice - Cream cheese and ham roll - Zucchini with smoked sawara and blue cheese yogurt sauce - Carrot-based garbure with turnip, cabbage, wild boar bacon, and green beans - Natural red sea bream with ham, chorizo, shellfish, and edamame foam - Kumamoto red beef leg meat with Madeira wine, mustard, and Jerusalem artichoke sauce - A dessert resembling a bird with freshly made vanilla ice cream, chocolate dough, almonds, and orange tuile. It was a refined and traditional French cuisine using seasonal ingredients from Fukuoka Prefecture. I enjoyed it, and I heard the night view is beautiful, so I plan to revisit for dinner in Marilyn Monroe's room next time. Thank you for the meal.

Marilyn Monroe and New York Yankees star player Joe DiMaggio visited the restaurant Hana no Ki in Nakasu during their honeymoon. Marilyn Monroe loved the Onion Gratin so much that she visited the restaurant three days in a row. The restaurant has since relocated to Ohori Park, offering a beautiful view as you dine with the park in the background. It is a flagship restaurant of Royal Host where you can enjoy delicious meals.

I visited for lunch and enjoyed a wonderful meal with top-notch service. Time passed slowly as I indulged in exquisite dishes. I left the wine selection to the sommeliers and had it paired with the food. It was truly a fantastic experience.

This time, I went to a French restaurant for a birthday party for someone I work under. I was nervous as I don't usually go to such places, but after some confusion finding the entrance, I finally made it inside. I forgot to take photos of the soup and dessert, but every dish was delicious and impressive! I felt a bit tense trying to follow the table manners, but the wonderful dishes in front of me amazed me. The staff kindly explained each dish, so I could understand what I was eating and enjoy it even more. Personally, I really liked the pumpkin soup. It's not easy to go to such places without being invited, but I realized that it's a great learning experience to visit such restaurants once in a while!

This restaurant is often frequented by elderly couples, as it has received a Michelin star and is considered a longstanding establishment. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, and the location is also wonderful, even on rainy days. The food is meticulously prepared, using many ingredients from Kyushu, and the dessert was delicious as well. I would recommend this restaurant to tourists as well.

Happy Birthday to you! A wonderful French restaurant with a great location and a touch of Japanese influence in the elegant flavors. They quickly noticed that I am left-handed, which was impressive. Although I got a bit confused midway and couldn't remember who was left-handed, but I guess that's just part of the charm.

Glass-walled pond, duck boats, and islands are visible on the other side. The weather is nice, so the view is excellent. Due to time constraints, we did not opt for the full course, but the staff provided the dishes at the perfect timing to accommodate our schedule. The Ohori Park Plate was impressive, with a corn mousse that was sweet and delicious, making me want more. The grilled swordfish had a tantalizing smoky aroma, and the vegetables in the salad were also delicious. The cold onion soup was surprisingly sweet and I wanted more of it. I chose the sautéed threadfin bream, which had a crispy skin and delicious sauce. The Fukuoka beef steak was perfectly cooked and tender, leaving me completely satisfied. For dessert, there was a sophisticated dish with white peach compote, pie, ice cream, and soufflé. The combination of soufflé and ice cream was delightful. The sweets were subtly sweet and refreshing. It was a perfect way to end the meal.

Lunch with a view of Ohori Park ☆ A spacious restaurant with plenty of room at the tables and attentive service from a knowledgeable sommelier. I ordered a glass of Taittinger champagne, and instead of a slim champagne flute, it was poured into a Chardonnay glass. When I asked why, I was told that since I had beer first, they chose a glass that would enhance the aroma. Interesting! The food was also excellent, and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch while savoring the flavors.

A restaurant with a view of Ohori Park, with one Michelin star. - Appetizer: Pate of Oma shrimp spring rolls with apple for a refreshing taste. Pound cake with cream cheese and tomato, cauliflower mousse, and walnuts. Served in Arita ware resembling the pond in Ohori Park. - Smoked amberjack: Thickly sliced for a satisfying texture, with cherry chips and oysters for a pleasant aroma. Yogurt pairs well with smoked dishes. - Burdock soup: Fragrant with Itojima wild boar bacon on top. - Spanish mackerel: Thick-cut Spanish mackerel with rapeseed blossoms and sauce, topped with smoked tairagi and karasumi. Lemon sauce adds a nice accent. - Fromage: Looks like a snow-viewing daifuku, but it's fluffy and delicious.

Established in 1953, this longstanding French restaurant is located by the side of Ohori Park's pond with a great view on a sunny day. The service is excellent and the light course menu is also very good. I paid extra for the specialty onion soup, which had a rich flavor that didn't seem like it came from vegetables. The sea bream was delicious, with a sauce that was even better than the main dish itself. The young sommelier is up-to-date with the latest trends and recommended a Greek wine endorsed by Mr. Ohashi from Yama-In. I had purchased the same wine for home consumption before (lol).

Today, I attended a friend's wedding reception. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the ceremony was limited to family members only, with the banquet postponed to a year later. However, due to the extension of the state of emergency, there was no alcohol served at the reception. The seating arrangement was spaced out with partitions, and the guest list was kept small. It's interesting to see how things have changed due to the pandemic. The venue, which originally had a store in Nakasu, was visited by Marilyn Monroe in the past. It's a historic restaurant that I didn't know about before. The menu included dishes like straw-grilled yellowtail with balsamic dressing, seasonal soup, sautéed white fish with beurre blanc sauce, sautéed domestic beef loin with vegetables and mashed potatoes, lemon mousse fruit tart with yogurt sorbet, and coffee. The yellowtail was large and fatty, and the balsamic vinegar sauce paired well with it. The herbs used in the vegetables added a nice aroma. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and the beef jus sauce enhanced its juiciness. Even though I couldn't have red wine, the non-alcoholic red and white wines were surprisingly flavorful. The venue offered a nice view of Ohori Park, and I had a pleasant experience. The regular evening course might be a bit pricey, but I hope to visit again someday. Thank you for the meal!

A while ago, my wife and I had a dinner at the famous restaurant "Restaurant Hananoki" in Ohori Park, as a special occasion. We made an early reservation and got a table by the window with a view of Ohori Park, where we could enjoy the transition from dusk to night. We ordered the "Menu Elegant" course for 7500 yen (tax included). The course included an amuse-bouche, appetizer, soup, fish dish, meat dish, pre-dessert, dessert, petit fours, and coffee. Each dish was well-crafted and delicious, especially the tender and flavorful meat dish. The three-tiered dessert selection was also a highlight, perfect for ending the meal. The service was impeccable, with the staff timing their service and drink refills perfectly. We were impressed with both the food and the attentive service, and we would love to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I came across a delicious meeting organized by a local gourmet magazine for readers and immediately signed up. The participation fee is 10,000 yen per person (including service charge and tax). Drinks are not included, with beer priced at 750 yen and wine at 1,800 yen (excluding tax and service charge). The restaurant is a Fukuoka's first grand maison established in 1953 in Nakasu, Fukuoka. It serves traditional French cuisine and was visited by Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio during their honeymoon trip to Fukuoka while entertaining the Fukuoka Air Base. There is a legend of them having seconds of the delicious onion soup. In 1989, the restaurant relocated to its current location in Ohori Park. As it is a collaboration with a local magazine, special dishes have been prepared. The atmosphere is upscale, making it a lucky opportunity to visit. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, with a glass-walled room offering a view of the pond in Ohori Park. The meal started with a five-item appetizer platter inspired by Ohori Park, including Itoshima game, salmon pie, spicy mentaiko, bean mousse, and consommé mushroom. It was elegant and delicious. The salad was rich in seafood, with green asparagus, sweet shrimp, various clams, scallops, eggs, miso, truffles, turnips, and caviar. The dessert was a lemon-basil-strawberry-blueberry-honey mousse. After the meal, there were small sweets. The head chef explained the dishes and their dedication. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the onion soup this time. The restaurant also has private rooms with the same interior as the one used by Marilyn Monroe, including the chairs she sat on. It was a delightful experience at this prestigious restaurant in Fukuoka. I am grateful to "Soigné" for organizing this event. Thank you very much.

I have been to this restaurant twice. When it was just renovated, it was not the kind of place you could just drop in, so I made sure to make a reservation before going. You can enjoy dinner while looking out at Ohori Park getting darker from the second floor, and when the park is no longer visible, a dessert on a plate shaped like Ohori Park is served. Not only the presentation, but also the taste is top-notch because it is French cuisine. The area around Ohori Park has many embassies, art museums, and Noh theaters, so I think it would be best to use this restaurant to entertain guests or for a special occasion after visiting an art exhibition or watching a Noh performance.
