I finally visited "Kawagishi" for lunch, which I've been wanting to try for a long time ❤️✔️ - Bruschetta: Tuna and avocado tartare with ikura and uni. This was incredibly delicious. I could eat as many as possible! - Pork rillette: Rich and creamy, it sticks to your tongue. Absolutely delicious. - Salad: Fluffy flounder meuniere with "Oni Tomato" fruit tomato from Kochi prefecture hidden underneath. The tomato had a unique sweet taste and the skin-on slice allowed you to enjoy different textures. It was sweet and not too juicy, making it enjoyable even for those who don't like tomatoes. The slightly bitter vegetables and mustard-like acidity in the dressing complemented each other perfectly. - Consomme soup: The sweetness from the beef and various vegetables created a complex yet delicate and gentle flavor. It was incredibly delicious, unlike any consomme soup I've had before. - Main course was a gratin with large shrimp, sweet leeks, and plenty of mushrooms. The white sauce left on the plate was so good that I wanted to lick it all. - Omelette rice: The generous amount of meat, onions, and bell peppers made it incredibly delicious. The curry flavor added a spicy kick, enhancing the appetite. The rice used was apparently from Awaji Island, and the fluffy omelette was a work of art. - Dessert: Blueberry gelato and brown sugar gelato, both homemade. They were not too sweet, with a gentle sweetness from the ingredients. It was a private dining experience that day, and the staff were very friendly and made the meal even more enjoyable. I felt the food tasted even better after hearing the explanations. I already want to go back... maybe I should try going alone next time. 😄 Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I made a reservation for 12:00, but when I arrived at 11:50, the restaurant was closed with the shutters down. I found it a bit off-putting that they were closed despite operating in this price range for lunch. The food was delicious though, everything was tasty. It seemed like there was only one person running the place, so I thought maybe they could lower the prices a bit. However, the atmosphere was nice and relaxing.

Located just a few minutes' walk from Osaka Uehonmachi Station, "Yo-shoku Kawagishi" is a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. The chef, who used to work at "Kiitos" in Yonchome-Tanimachi, branched out in 2017 and I had the opportunity to try their famous "omurice" dish back then. Finally, I was able to visit this Western-style restaurant and enjoy a course meal with some drinks this time. [Course Meal] - Negitoro Ikura Bruschetta with Mascarpone and Karasumi - Sauteed Turban Shell Burgundy Style - Silver Cod Carpaccio - New Onion Potage Soup - Chicken Basket - Pork Cutlet Sandwich - Omurice with Curry Flavor - Dessert - Bottled Beer - Champagne - Red Wine The dishes were all prepared with care to bring out the flavors of the seafood, meat, and vegetables. The sauteed turban shell had a rich garlic flavor and a tender texture, while the silver cod had excellent fat content. The new onion potage soup was sweet and flavorful, and the chicken basket had a juicy and crispy texture. The beef cutlet sandwich was incredibly tender and delicious. Lastly, the omurice with curry flavor was made with beef instead of chicken, and the fluffy omelette was incredibly tasty. I enjoyed the meal with the drinks, and it was a delightful experience. Thank you for the feast!

I went to a Western-style restaurant called Kawagishi in Kami Honcho. The meal started with canapés made with baguettes, followed by breaded sazae (turban shell), seared fish salad, chicken basket, new onion potage, grilled fish, omurice, and fruit. The dishes were delicious, focusing on the ingredients, and I didn't feel heavy at all. The owner was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. It was a great restaurant experience.

It was a wonderful restaurant. You can discuss the price to some extent with the chef's choice course. This time, we opted for a slightly better course. The beef cutlet sandwich was a nice addition. The meal started with bruschetta with karasumi and cheese, uni and ikura, and avocado. Paired with champagne. It was delicious, with a great balance! Next was the Burgundy-style large clam dish. The flavor of the large clam, the sauce, and the breadcrumbs were harmonious. This was followed by cod milt meuniere. It was served with salad and was also excellent! Just when we thought the bread had arrived, unexpectedly, it was fried chicken! They call it the chicken basket here. It was incredibly juicy and delicious! The gentle turnip soup refreshed the palate. The crab cream croquette was a luxurious dish made using several cups of over 800g of snow crab. The rich crab miso and bechamel crab meat were irresistible. Salt was hardly used, and the crab flavor was fully packed. The eagerly awaited cutlet sandwich needs no explanation. It's simply sauce, bread, and meat! The meat was tender... Lastly, the famous omurice. The "chicken" rice was actually beef, so it was beef rice. When you shake the plate, the fluffy egg opens up smoothly. It was excellent! I will definitely visit again.

Despite the limited number of shops open during the year-end and New Year holidays, I decided to visit this place where reservations seemed possible. I was pleasantly surprised by the decent reviews on Tabelog. The flavors were straightforward and surprisingly good. I heard from a regular customer that the place can get busy and the service might be slow because there is only one person running the show. The owner was quite entertaining, and the service was so good that I ended up drinking a lot of wine. They even offered to give me a ride in a tuk-tuk if it's nearby. I tried the salmon and avocado, pork rillettes, purple sweet potato tempura, onion potage, cabbage roll, and omurice.

- [Shop Name] Western Food Kawagishi - [Nearest Station] 3 minutes walk from Osaka Uehommachi Station - [Budget] 3000 yen - [Recommended Menu] ⭐️Omurice A Western-style restaurant where the chef puts a lot of effort into the dishes. The main dish was ginger pork, and the soup had a lot of peach and pepper, which was quite amusing. Maybe it would have been better if I mixed it more. The ayu fish salad was delicious, probably the last ayu of the year. The omurice was quite filling. Thank you for inviting me to such a precious seat.

The exciting entrance in the alley lined with private houses leads to a cozy counter-only restaurant where a knowledgeable and friendly chef serves a variety of delicious dishes. Each dish reflects the care and attention put into its preparation. However, the somewhat cluttered atmosphere near the restroom was a bit disappointing.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. After playing golf, I visited with three friends. The restaurant has a counter and a small private room with a table for four people. The chef was handling everything efficiently on his own. As for the food, the first dish was a delicious tuna and avocado with sea urchin on a baguette, along with a pork terrine on another baguette. The garlic flavor was strong and tasty. The second dish was grilled oysters with a slightly Western twist, which was also delicious. The third dish was grilled tai snapper with crispy skin and a tasty coriander salad. The tai snapper could have been a bit more tender and sweet. The fourth dish was a chicken basket for four people, with generous portions of chicken that were filling and delicious. The fifth dish was a cold soup made of peaches, olive oil, and black pepper, which had a unique and tasty flavor. The sixth dish was a crab cream croquette, which was simply delicious. The seventh dish was a beef cutlet sandwich, which was undeniably tasty and suitable for both adults and children. The eighth dish was a seafood pilaf, which was also delicious but by that point, we were already full. Overall, despite our rowdy behavior during our post-golf gathering, I thought it was a good restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

A friend had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, so I went there for their birthday. The counter was full when we arrived, but the chef remembered me from my last visit about 3 months ago. I made a reservation through a website called Ikyu. There were two course options, and we chose the 9600 yen course. We had fresh oysters with a Western-style wasabi sauce, sea urchin and tuna avocado tartare, a rusk with swordtip squid, red sea bream fritters, chicken and potato cold soup, shrimp fry, dry curry omelette rice, matcha creme brulee, and potato soup as a bonus. The potato soup was my favorite this time. The red sea bream fritters were crispy and delicious. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful, and after eating it, I can't go back to fast food chicken. We ordered sparkling white grape juice and red grape juice, with the white grape juice tasting like champagne. We had a great time chatting with the other guests. I definitely want to go back again. Thank you for the meal!

I visited for lunch again this time! It's been about a year since my last visit. This time, I had sea urchin, amberjack, avocado dried fig, mascarpone oyster and pear salad, homemade consommé soup, shrimp and mushroom gratin, omurice, and homemade crème brûlée. The sea urchin dish on top of the bread was the most delicious! The consommé soup was made from scratch by the chef and had a very gentle flavor. It's gentle in taste but not lacking in flavor! The omurice had big chunks of vegetables mixed in, making it appealing to kids who may not like vegetables. According to the chef, the vegetables are not overcooked to avoid any bitterness. The crème brûlée was also subtly sweet and not too heavy, making it easy to eat multiple servings. I would like to try the chicken fritters and katsu sandwich next time, so I'm looking forward to visiting at night as well. The rating is based on personal taste preferences. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The owner was running a small shop by themselves, so it seemed like they didn't have many customers. We were the only customers that day. We ordered a course meal and could freely choose our drinks, which could be matched with the dishes. Each dish was carefully prepared and very delicious. It's a place I would like to visit again.

I made a reservation because I wanted to eat the fluffy omurice that breaks softly while swaying, which is included in the lunch course for 3850 yen. All the other dishes were delicious as well, especially the cold pumpkin soup which I wanted to have seconds of. The chef was just as charming as his business card illustration, and it was a delightful dining experience. While the lunch may be a bit pricey for a salaryman, considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere, I think it was a good value meal. Thank you for the meal!

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while. It's a popular place that requires complete reservations. The stylish and clean space is like an adult Western-style restaurant. The friendly and soothing owner is passionate about Western cuisine. The owner's cooking focuses on the natural goodness of the ingredients, offering course meals. Here are some of the dishes we tried: - Bruschetta: Two types - one with firefly squid and yam tartare, and the other with pork rillettes. Both were delicious, with the garlic toast being a perfect match. - Hokki Clam Bourguignon-style: Baked with breadcrumbs, this dish had a delicious garlic and butter flavor. - Blowfish Milt Meuniere Salad: Fresh vegetables topped with creamy and sweet blowfish milt, paired with a mustard, red wine vinegar, and salt dressing. - Fried Chicken: Simply amazing, juicy and crispy, fried in beef fat. - Hair Crab Cream Croquette: A cream croquette with a strong crab flavor that doesn't need any sauce. - Omurice: Fluffy and creamy omelette over chicken rice with onions, bell peppers, and chunks of meat, all coated in a deep demi-glace and tangy ketchup. - Dessert: Passion fruit with homemade brown sugar ice cream, a luxurious and delicious combination. The owner's business card reads "The Cook Who Brings Happiness," and it's true - we encountered a lot of happiness and deliciousness. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited this restaurant in the spring before my friend gave birth, and we decided to meet up after a long time. We chose this place, Youshoku Kawagishi, as it caught our attention. It is conveniently located near the Kami-Shinchi Station. Despite the rainy day, it was nice to be close to the station. We had the 7000 yen chef's choice course for dinner. Now they also offer courses for 8800 yen and 13200 yen. We started with a toast of champagne in tall flute glasses. The course included bruschetta with firefly squid and shrimp with avocado, sazae in Burgundy sauce, grilled mackerel salad, fried chicken, pumpkin potage, lamb steak, omurice, and passion fruit and homemade milk gelato for dessert. The bruschetta was made with seasonal firefly squid, and the sazae in Burgundy sauce was a favorite. The grilled mackerel was crispy and served with salad. The fried chicken had a crispy coating and tender meat. The lamb steak was the main event, and the chef prepared the omurice in front of us. The ketchup rice was hearty, and the dessert of passion fruit was unique and not too sour. The gelato was rich and delicious. The chef's talk was enjoyable, and the atmosphere was comfortable. I would love to visit this restaurant again if given the chance. Thank you for the wonderful meal. A friend had recommended the Western cuisine restaurant "Kawagishi" that I had been curious about. After researching and finding out that the lunch course was affordable at ¥3850, I decided to visit with my mother. The restaurant has 8 counter seats available. Today, we dined alongside a family who had just attended a graduation ceremony. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and very clean. As for the food, the first dish had caviar on one side and fugu (blowfish) on the other. The combination of the salty caviar and the fugu was delicious and impressive! Next to it was a salad with grated yam and tuna tartare, which was also delicious, especially the large and tasty salmon roe. The second dish was a salad with firefly squid and locally sourced boramundi meuniere. The firefly squid was not fishy and delicious, and the boramundi was incredibly tasty, perfect for a fish lover like me. The parsley flavor and dressing complemented the dish well. Following that was a clam soup with a pattern on the surface resembling a bamboo blind. The clam was firm and chewy, just the way I like it. The soup had a gentle flavor with a hint of the sea and pepper as a nice touch. The main dish was a gratin with crab and prawns, served in a style where two people share one portion. The prawns were plump and well-cooked, even for someone like me who isn't a big fan of prawns. The gratin had a homely flavor that was uniquely delicious. The chef mentioned that the ingredients would change the next day. Lastly, we had their famous omurice. When making a reservation, you can choose between omurice and curry rice, but who would choose curry over this omurice? I bet the curry is delicious too! This omurice is not just for Instagram, it's truly delicious! It's filled with vegetables and meat, and the homemade demi-glace sauce is amazing. For dessert, we had homemade brown sugar ice cream, rich and flavorful with a strong brown sugar taste. The chef was very cheerful, even making a special menu for children and engaging us in conversation. It was a truly enjoyable experience. The chef's business card read "A chef who delivers happiness through food," and I couldn't agree more! I definitely plan to revisit soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Last week, I visited the reliable Western food restaurant Kawagishi-san. Once again, the food was delicious as always. While dishes like omurice and beef cutlet are their specialties, I had heard that their curry, which is simmered for a long time and aged, is also delicious and I really wanted to try it. However, it is a rare menu item because it takes a lot of time and effort to prepare, so it is not always available. I wondered if I would be able to try it the next time they come to Osaka. But then, I saw on the chef's Instagram story that they were preparing the curry, so I immediately made a reservation and got my hands on the curry I was looking for. The Kawagishi curry base is a beef tendon curry. If you didn't know it was curry, you might think it's beef stew based on its appearance. When you take a bite, you can taste the sweetness of the onions and the gentle umami of the broth. Although it's curry, the spices are really gentle and mild. The aging process has made everything blend together smoothly. The beef tendon is so tender that it's almost unrecognizable. It's so delicious and gentle, you could almost call it a curry-flavored stew. It's the ultimate Western-style curry, isn't it? I also ordered the omurice as usual, and it was excellent as always. It was a very satisfying lunch. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

The food at Kawagishi has become even more delicious than the last time I visited, about a year ago. The chef is gentle yet has a strong commitment to his craft, and his attention to detail is evident in his meticulous work. It is recommended to make a reservation and inform them of what you would like to eat in advance, as this will ensure that they prepare the best meal and provide excellent hospitality. On this day, I had a lunch with my favorite items: - Fresh fish tartare - Chicken basket - Hamburger steak sandwich - Omurice Two points that I particularly want to highlight: - Fresh fish tartare: A luxurious tartare made with ikura, mongouika, binchou maguro, and sea urchin from Hokkaido and Mishima. The overall sweetness and soft texture of the ingredients are accented by the addition of chopped nagaimo. The use of whole grain mustard adds a gentle spiciness and acidity. Surprisingly, the garlic toast served with it complements the seafood well. - Omurice: The omelette here is fluffy and creamy. If you are a fan of soft and creamy omelettes, you will definitely be delighted. The rice wrapped in this gentle egg is also noteworthy. Unlike the typical chicken rice, this restaurant uses beef rice with large chunks of beef, making it a luxurious dish. The large cuts of bell pepper and onion also add to its presence. The perfect cooking of the ingredients results in a dish with a balanced sweetness and a crunchy yet tender texture in the middle. Lastly, a little anecdote about the fukujinzuke (pickles). The fukujinzuke at this restaurant has various textures. When I asked about it, I learned that it contains 7 different ingredients. It turns out that fukujinzuke is traditionally made with 7 lucky gods, and real fukujinzuke like this is rare nowadays. It shows the level of dedication and attention to detail at this restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I want to eat delicious omurice! So I went to Yoshoku Kawagishi in Uehommachi. The chef here is friendly and not only explains the dishes while cooking but also talks a lot, making it very enjoyable. The omurice here is the type where they make a cut with a knife and then shake it with their hands to open it up. The fluffy half-cooked egg shaking is very Instagrammable. The beef cutlet was also delicious. It's popular, so I recommend making a reservation before going.

I visited a Western-style restaurant near Kintetsu Uehommachi Station, recommended by a friend. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful, and they offer not only delicious dishes but also entertaining performances like the omelette rice with the egg cracking. The cheesecake dessert was so delicious that it left me impressed. I would definitely love to visit this restaurant again.

All the dishes were delicious! The appetizer consisted of garlic bread with firefly squid and perfectly seasoned salmon roe. The salad with crispy fried shirako was also delicious. The onion potage soup had a smooth and rich texture. The chicken cutlet with mustard sauce in between was a nice touch. The omelette rice was a standout dish, fluffy and made with a combination of demi-glace sauce and ketchup. The rice used in the omelette rice is of high quality, with an option to change it to curry flavor. The dessert was a homemade black sugar ice cream. Every dish was delicious! I definitely want to visit again.
