I finally visited this cafe that I've been curious about, just in time for the morning hours (7-11 am), when there is a lot of coming and going, so the sliding door is slightly open. I was intrigued by the green curry, but it is only available from lunchtime. Most people were ordering the morning set (toast, ice or hot coffee, salad) with choice A (boiled egg) or B (sausage) for hot @500 yen including tax. I asked the young female staff member on the floor for this set, and she brought me a glass of water and a paper towel. Inside the counter, a short-haired lady who seemed like the owner was managing everything on her own, instructing the staff member briskly while chatting with an elderly local lady at the corner of the counter. A typical scene of a Showa-era cafe! The water in the glass had the taste of tap water, which was nostalgic ^^; After a while, the hot coffee with milk and sugar arrived, and it had a slightly acidic taste, not freshly brewed. Next, the toast set came with a boiled egg and a small salad dish. The toast was thickly sliced, freshly baked, spread with butter, and cut in half, fluffy and delightful ♡ The yolk of the boiled egg had a soft-boiled part, and it was comforting to eat by spooning out the top without peeling the shell, like a poached egg. The small salad dish was a vinegary glass noodle salad, which might be a matter of personal preference. It was a quaint cafe, almost unchanged inside and out, right near the station.
